Ywall is a flexible cement/calcium building board, for applications that require a slightly lighter board with improved fire properties.

One of our core objectives when formulating Y-wall was ensuring maximum workability on site. The lighter composition of the product allows easier use on site, offering both full sheets 2400mm x 1200mm as well as 1200mm x 1200mm as standard. With manual handling becoming an ever greater consideration on projects, products such as Y-wall are leading the way in applicator consideration.

The product offers very similar properties to that of cement particle board, but due to the calcium additives, it has much greater fire resistance properties. This is to meet the ever more stringent demand from specifiers, clients and insurers in the market place.

Health & Safety Appropriate health and safety precautions must be adhered to when working with this product (see lifting and handling section).

Basic CompositionRCM Ywall is manufactured from a mixture of cement, lime, calcium silicate and other additives.

>

General PropertiesYwall is resistant to the general effects of moisture, humidity changes, rot, insects, vermin and has excellent fire related properties.

Machine-abilityYwall can be drilled, sanded and worked in similar fashion to that of cement particle board, or fibre cement board. Contact RCM for supply of recommended cutting blade.

>

MaintenanceVirtually maintenance free - cost effective.

ApplicationsYwall may be used in a wide range of applications such as partitions, as a sheathing board behind external facade and in numerous OEM uses.

Renderflex is a cellulose/fibre cement building board, specifically designed as a carrier board for polymer modified render systems.

Our Renderflex board has been specially formulated to achieve a strong key between polymer basecoats/top coats and the Renderflex. The boards structure maintains a high tensile strength (ILB) essential for long term durability, whilst being manufactured to achieve minimum amount of movement in the board, reducing stress being applied to the render system.

RCM boards have been used or approved by most of the render manufacturers* within the UK.

Basic CompositionRCM Renderflex is manufactured from a mixture of specially treated cellulose fibres, Portland cement, sand and other additives.

>

General PropertiesRenderflex is resistant to the general effects of moistures, humidity changes, rot, insects, vermin, and has good fire related properties.

Machine-abilityRenderflex can be cut drilled, sanded and worked in a similar fashion to that of cement particle board, or other fibre cement boards. Contact RCM for supply of recommended cutting blade.

>

>

> ApplicationsRenderflex is primarily designed to be used as a render carrier board, where there is no insulation applied to the board prior to rendering. For projects where an insulation is applied first to the board, we recommend the use of RCM Cemboard, Ywall, CEM+ or Multipurpose.

Health & Safety Appropriate health and safety precautions must be adhered to when working with this product (see lifting and handling section).

The growth in render applied directly onto building boards has been significant over the past few years

This type of system provides significant cost benefits, faster build times, and potentially a reduced external footprint. As with any significant benefit however, there can be other potential risks. The biggest risk with this type of solution, is ensuring the board and for that matter the renders are compatible and fit for purpose.

Renderflex has been specially formulated and developed for this very application.

This is a short list of just some of the third party accredited UK testing which has been carried out on RCM Renderflex and associated render finishes.

RCM understand the properties and characteristics of the polymer and acrylic renders, and have combined this knowledge with our expertise in cementicious board technology, to provide tried and tested product, which meets the specific demand of the market place.

Key issues such as

> Mechanical fixing strength

> Freeze thaw performance

> Modulus of Rupture and Elasticity

> Bond strength between board and renders

> Wind loading with render

> Polymer and acrylic render to board reaction tests

Supertech is a single facet autoclaved cellulose fibre reinforced cement plank. Low maintenance, with two surface finishes (permanent wood grain and smooth texture), Supertech is the ideal alternative to timber weather boards and more attractive than PVCu.

Supertech is simple to install and ideal for homes and commercial buildings, offering significant technical advantages over more traditional materials.

Health & Safety Appropriate health and safety precautions must be adhered to when working with this product (see lifting and handling section).

Basic CompositionSupertech is made from specially treated high grade cellulose fibre, Portland cement, refined sand and water.

>

General PropertiesSupertech with a stable crystalline structure is resilient to water penetration, humidity changes, rot, insects, termites, vermin and is fire rated class 0. Less shrinkage compared to air-cured products.

Machine-abilitySupertech can be cut, drilled, nailed and worked in a similar fashion to timber and chipboard with standard wood working tools, but offers a much longer performance life.

Within this section of our brochure, we have endeavoured to demonstrate some of the basic layouts of the Supertech plank.

The product is typically fixed on timber battens back to a sheathing board, supported on either a timber or metal framed construction. The support battens may also be fixed back onto a Masonry substrate if applicable.

RCMHD (High Density) is a rigid, high density, high performance fibre cement building board, which provides greater strength and weathering characteristics over that of our Multi Purpose board.

HD has a very extensive range of uses from external applications, soffits, semi exposed application, laminating, floors, roofs and for sheathing board applications where additional strength is more critical.

Health & Safety Appropriate health and safety precautions must be adhered to when working with this product (see lifting and handling section).

Basic CompositionRCMHD is made from specially treated high grade cellulose fibre, Portland cement, refined sand and water.

>

General PropertiesRCMHD with a stable crystalline structure is highly resistant to water penetration, humidity, rot, insects, termites, vermin and is fire rated class 0.

When painting the board or lamination, we recommend the use of an alkali resistant paint/primer or cement sealer, so no reaction can occur between the boards and treatment.

Machine-abilityRCMHD (High Density) is a very strong versatile semi-exposed / external building board. It may be cut, (recommend tungsten tipped blade) drilled and nailed on site, however for extensive cutting of the product we recommend the boards is cut with more specialised equipment (possibly off site) due to the boards very strong characteristics.

When handling individual boards from stack, slide sideways and lift by spread arms on long edges to give even support and prevent excessive flexing of the board. Do not drag sheets off the stack. Protection gloves and footwear are recommended when moving boards. Boards are heavy; ensure H & SE guidelines are followed.

Always stack boards on a smooth flat surface clear of the ground.

If boards need to be stacked, always ensure blocks properly align.

Boards must never be stored on edge or upright. Protect edges from chipping.Loose storage of boards on their edges is not recommended.

Store boards in dry conditions and under cover, fully protected from the weather and other trades at all times.

Cover boards to keep dry prior to fixing. If sheets do become wet, allow to dry thoroughly prior to fixing.

Use of a fine tooth hand saw or a power saw is recommended.Contact RCM for supply of recommended cutting blade.

Support both ends of the board when cutting to avoid breakaway.

When drilling, cutting or sanding cement manufactured products, wear safety glasses and approved dust mask or respirator.

During clean up, contain dust by vacuum or wet down methods.Safe disposal also requires containment of dust.Long term exposure to dust can be harmful to health.

All suitable health and safety issues should be implemented.
