THE END HAS come upon the four corners of the land! Now the end is upon you, I will unleash my anger against you and judge you according to your conduct and lay upon you the consequences of all your abominations. Ezechiel 7:2. On the day of the great slaughter, when the towers fall, the light of the moon will be like that of the sun and the light of the sun will be seven times greater like the light of seven days. Isaia 30:26. Therefore I gave them statutes that were not good, and ordi- nances through which they could not live. I let them become defiled by their gifts, by their immolation of every first born, so as to make them an object of horror. Ezechiel 20:25-26. Christian, rec- ognize your dignity and now that you share in God’s own nature, do not return to your former base condition by sinning. Remember who is your head and of whose body you are a member. Never forget that you have been res- cued from the power of darkness and brought into the light of the Kingdom of God. St. Leo the Great. Sermo21 in nat. Dom, 3: Pl 54, 192C.

Theodore “Ted” Monsour HonoredMOREAU/SARATOGA COUNTY – The New York State Of-fice for the Aging hosted an event in May at the State Capitol to honor older volunteers from across the state. Over 100 volun-teers and their families, and OFA staff attended the ceremony. Ted Monsour was one of only two candidates chosen from Saratoga County. The Moreau Community Center nominated him. The honorees were chosen through a selection process conducted by the county offices for the aging based on their volunteer activities in their community. Just some of the ways Ted volunteers for our community include delivering meals to shut-ins, packaging and serving meals in a congregate meal site, picking up food to be distributed at the community center, and working at the annual garage and antique sales. He volun-teers his restaurant managerial skills at monthly dinners and breakfasts at the Moreau Community Center. Ted also has pre-pared dinners for the Knights of Columbus and helped prepare a fundraising dinner for someone fighting cancer. He also vol-unteers at an annual breakfast for the Marathon Dance. Every Thursday, he is the Bingo caller at St. Michael’s (a fundraiser for the Moreau Community Center). He donates blood on a regular basis and collects aluminum tabs for veterans. He is a lector at two churches. Ted Monsour documented over 450 vol-unteer hours in the year 2011 (while still working part-time). On the 14th day of August, 2012, Ted Monsour was presented with a Proclamation signed by the Moreau Town Board. “Now therefore, be it resolved, that Ted Monsour is a genuine exam-ple of selflessness, dependability, integrity and he is a humble, sincere person who is willing to help those in need and who has shown great interest in his community.” (P)

Albany, NY (July 31, 2012) –Do you have a love for animals and want to support a great local cause? Join with the Gold-stein Auto Group and bring your empty bottles and cans to a Goldstein dealership and support the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society. The Mohawk Hudson Humane Society’s “Empties For Animals” campaign helps support the mission of the organization, includ-ing sheltering, adoption, education, advocacy and the preven-tion of cruelty to animals. This year’s goal is to raise $125,000, in honor of the Society’s 125th Anniversary. To reach the goal, the Goldstein Auto Group will need to collect more than 1,500,000 cans and bottles. The 2012 "Empties For Animals” campaign has raised over $46,000 during the first half of this year, an increase of $12,000 or 34% over the same period last year. The 2011 campaign raised a total

of more than $74,000 and collected 925,000 cans and bottles. Volunteers sorted all those bottles and cans, based on the originating distributor, which in turn generated $.08 per can or bottle instead of the regular $.05 redemption fee paid at stores. Monies from the program were used to benefit the more than 6,500 animals cared for by the Society in 2011. “We are very pleased to continue our partnership with the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society and support the 2012 “Empties For Animals” campaign. We would like to thank all of our custom-ers and the members of the community who have generously donated to such a worthy cause,” said Alan Goldstein, President of Goldstein Auto Group.

The bottles can be dropped off at any of the four Goldstein Auto Group locations:
