Dear Sisters and Brothers, Happy Mother’s Day to all of the mothers in our parish community! Today’s special celebration has many common expressions world-wide. It is a day to show gratitude and apprecia-tion to our mothers who gave us life and are significant persons in our lives. In the U.S., the second Sunday of May is designated for this purpose while in Mexico, the day of celebration is May 10th. The celebration is accompa-nied by gifts, special meals, songs, etc. We remember all mothers both living and deceased in our prayers today. Let us remember in prayer those mothers in our world who suffer the ravages of poverty and war and are separated from their children or unable to care for them. It is very fitting that the Scripture readings today from the second Letter of John and the Gospel of John speak about love. Mothers are called to love beyond all measure. Love involves many sacrifices and often suffering. In our world, there are all kinds of persons; some mothers have not made choices based on love. But we are talking about mothers who have a relationship with God, a relationship that includes prayer. That makes all the difference in sustaining them during the good times and hard times. Mothers come in different forms, such a title was applied to Mother Teresa. Mother Teresa was asked why she spent so much time and energy helping people who were going to die anyway. She answered that she had no choice; she was a Christian dedicated to Jesus Christ and Jesus identified with the poorest of the poor. Like Mother Teresa and our Moms, we are called to love those whom the Lord has given us: our family, our spouse, our parents, our friends, and co-workers, etc. Thank you to all mothers who have set a high standard of love by their kindness, compassion, and personal sacrifice.

May God’s blessings be abundant! Peace and all good!

Worship in Warmth Campaign

Update

Thank you to all who have contributed to

our Worship in Warmth campaign to help

fund some unbudgeted expenses related to our boiler

system. That work has been completed and the

system has been running well. We raised $6,402

through this campaign toward the $14,735 cost

incurred. Names of contributors will be included in

an upcoming bulletin.

TRUSTEE ELECTION: Each year at this time, we notify you of the upcoming

trustee election. This year, the election will take place at all of the weekend Masses on May 16-17, 2015. Wisconsin state law requires that the trustee be elected by the members of the congregation. The term of office is two years. A trustee may serve more than one term.

A parish trustee is an active, responsible parish member who is called to serve the parish as advisor, overseer, and counselor. Trustees must be informed, involved and concerned about the parish and its members. An effective trustee brings trust, harmony, wisdom and counsel to the various aspects of parish life. Trustees must be at least 25 years of age.

This year, we will elect the treasurer trustee who assists the pastor/pastoral leader in parish financial activities including the care of funds, assets, banking, credit and insurance. The treasurer trustee is a member of the finance council.

Dennis Dionne, our current treasurer trustee, is completing his two year term. He is willing to serve another term and so his name will be on the ballot. Since elections are open to other qualified persons, if you are qualified for this position or wish to nominate someone for this position, please contact Sr. Jane Riha (920-468-7848) no later than Tuesday, May 12th.

Second Collection – May 9-10, 2015 Our Finance Council has directed that there be a second collection for parish operations this weekend and the plan is to continue with this second collection on the second week-end of each month into the new fiscal year. Envelopes will be available for this collection in the baskets at each entrance.

Queridos hermanos y hermanas, ¡Feliz Día de las Madres a todas las madres en nuestra comunidad parroquial! La celebración de hoy tiene muchas expresiones en común por todo el mundo. Es un día para mostrar gratitud y reconocimiento a nuestras madres que nos dieron la vida y son personas significativas en nuestras vidas. En los Estados Unidos, el segundo domingo de Mayo es designado para este propósito, mientras que en México, el día de celebración es el 10 de Mayo. La celebración es acompañada de regalos, comidas especiales, canciones, etc. Hoy recordamos a todas las madres vivas y difuntas en nuestras oraciones. Recordemos en oración a aquellas madres en el mundo que sufren los estragos de la pobreza y la guerra y son separadas de sus hijos o no pueden cuidar de ellos.

Es muy adecuado que las lecturas de hoy, de la segunda carta de Juan y el Evangelio de Juan, hablan sobre el amor. Las madres están llamadas a amar sin medida. Amar implica muchos sacrificios y a menudo sufrimiento. En nuestro mundo, hay todo tipo de personas; algunas madres no han tomado decisiones basadas en el amor. Pero estamos hablando de las madres que tienen una relación con Dios, una relación que incluye la oración. Eso hace toda la diferencia en sostenerlas durante tiempos buenos y difíciles.

Las madres vienen en diferentes forma; tal título se aplicó a la Madre Teresa. A Madre Teresa se le preguntó por qué pasó tanto tiempo y energía ayudando a las personas que iban a morir de todos modos. Ella respondió que no tuvo otra alternativa; era una cristiana dedicada a Jesucristo y Jesús se identificó con los más pobres de entre los pobres. Como Madre Teresa y a nuestras madres, estamos llamados a amar a aquellos que el Señor nos ha dado: nuestra familia, nuestro cónyuge, nuestros padres, nuestros amigos y compañeros de trabajo, etc. Gracias a todas las madres que han establecido un alto estándar de amor a través de su bondad, compasión y sacrificio personal.

VENTA ANUAL DE RUMAGE JUNIO 19-21

Conserve artículos que pueda donar para la venta de rumage. Ésta es patrocinada por la Sociedad del Altar de San Felipe. Considere donar cuadros y artículos para decoración, joyería, electrodo-mésticos pequeños, muebles, ropa, libros, etc. Les avisaremos cuando sea tiempo para entregar sus donaciones.

CULTO CON CALEFACCIÓN

Gracias a todos los que han contribuido a nuestra campaña Culto con Calefacción para ayudar a financiar algunos gastos no previstos relacionados a nuestro sistema de caldera (boiler). Ese trabajo fue completado y el sistema ahora funciona bien. Recaudamos $6,402 a través de esta campaña hacia el costo incurrido de $14,735. Los nombres de contribuyentes serán incluidos en un próximo boletín.

ELECCIÓN DE FIDEICOMISARIO

Cada año durante este tiempo damos el aviso sobre la elección de una persona para servir como fideicomisario de la parroquia. Este año, se realizará la elección en todas las Misas el 16 y 17 de mayo de 2015. La ley del estado de Wiscon-sin requiere que el fideicomisario sea elegido por los miembros de la congregación. La duración del cargo es de dos años. Un fideicomisario puede servir más de un término. Es un miembro de la parroquia que es activo y responsable quien es llamado para servir a la parroquia como asesor, supervisor y consejero. Esta persona debe ser informada, involucrada y interesada por la parro-quia y sus miembros. Un fideicomisario aporta confianza, armonía, sabiduría y consejo a los diversos aspectos de la vida parroquial. Debe tener por lo menos 25 años de edad. Este año, elegiremos al tesorero fideicomisario que asiste al párroco/líder pastoral en las activida-des financieras de la parroquia incluyendo el cui-dado de los fondos, ahorros, créditos, seguros y otros asuntos bancarios. El tesorero fideicomisa-rio es miembro del Consejo de Finanzas. Dennis Dionne, nuestro actual tesorero fideico-misario, está terminando su cargo de dos años. Está dispuesto a servir otros dos años, de modo que su nombre estará en la boleta electoral. Las elecciones están abiertas a otras personas que cumplen con los requisitos. Si usted los cumple para este cargo o desea nominar a alguien para esta posición, favor de contactar a la Hna. Jane Riha al 920-468-7848, para no más tardar del martes, 12 de mayo.
