sincerely happy for the
opportunity God has
blessed usmdashto touch

and discern over the ac-
tivities the chapter will
embark This includes
looking into its member-
ship and evaluating the
strengths and weaknesses
of the action groups And
so reorganization follows
For the year 2011 the
Chapter governance re-
mains the same There are
changes however in the
Action Group level A full
listing of the Chapter Or-
ganization is on pages 4
and 5
It is worth noting that
regrouping should be
taken in the positive light
It is an opportunity to
know deeper the lives and
circumstances of other
Kuyas and Ates In the
process we come to un-
derstand them more and
be more sensitive to their
needs Isnrsquot this what com-
munity is all about
And so as we welcome
one another in the new
action groups let us be

ldquoBringing Christ into the Marketplace and Winning the Marketplace for Christrdquo
Those who joyfully leave everything in Godrsquos hand will eventually see Godrsquos hand
in everything Worry ends where faith begins Stay happy with God
Mactan Chapter
And I replied How much
do you need But my pretty little Juliet
couldnt quite figure out
how much She finally
brought me to her Dad
who asked me why I be-
lieved I loved her Well
sir I said you see the
first time I saw her my
knees felt weak My heart
pounded real fast and I
had a hard time breath-
ing
Thats not love stupid
the father roared What
you have is asthma That knocked me
out So I proceeded in-
stead to court my pretty
Chinese neighbor For
two months I kept sending
h e r s i o m a i a n d
hopia When she finally
asked me why I an-
swered I want to siomai
love for you Hopia like
it
Well what do you
know She liked it And
so for two years she and I
were delirious and happy -
- until we got married Our marriage was a
true example of co-
operation When she
coos I operate But then
that modus operandi did-
nt last long It ended
when she started to keep
pets in our house Now
we have all breeds of
dog I simply couldnt
stand them We have two
Dobermans a pair of Chi-
huahua one German Shep-
herd and the only one that
barks is the wife Yes marriage may be
made in heaven But so
are thunder and lightning
Thats what I told my wife
too And she accused me
of not having any sense of
humor I told her Are
you kidding In fact I even
have an official document
to prove that I have a
sense of humor Oh yeah Show me
your proof she de-
manded I showed her our
marriage contract
Its really ironical De-
spite the popular adage
that we should never bring
our troubles to bed I still
sleep with my wife At any
rate that helps somehow
to maintain the sanity in
our love life As a matter
of fact we still go to mov-
ies holding hands She
holds her hand and I hold
mine Well love may mean
never having to say youre
sorry But marriage means
never having the chance to
resign Nevertheless true
lovers like you and I can
endure the travails of love
come what may We
should be like King Richard
who said Take my
m o n e y t a k e m y
throne Just leave me with
my wife alone
What is this thing called
love Some people con-
sider love as an affair An
affair consisting of three
rings the engagement ring
the wedding ring and the
suffering Love to me is an essen-
tial part of life without
which life would be mean-
ingless That was also how
my friend felt when he
came to me one day feeling
depressed He wanted to
end his life because he
couldnt find anyone to
love him I said Look
thats not a problem If
nobody loves you why
dont you love yourself
That was exactly what he
did And to this day he
never has had any competi-
tion I have been in love many
many times before I am
what you may call the ma-
cho type I go after anyone
I see in skirts And the
other day I almost got
slapped by the Mother
Superior
Well I guess love needs
to be properly expressed
to be truly appreciated I
had a girl who wanted me to reaffirm my love for
her She asked me
Darling do you truly love
me
Yes my dear I as-
s u r e d h e r
How much do you love

Godrsquos promises are like the stars The darker the night the brighter they shine
Happiness is not what you get from life it is what you give to others
Page 5 February 2011
Today be sure to Smile ndash it makes you look better Pray - it keeps you stronger
Give ndash it makes you richer and Love ndash it makes you enjoy life

8 Steps to Heaven
Bro Ale Aguspina
this profound process
takes place within him
he then bears fruit not
only of adoration of God
but also of deep wonder
at himself
Redemptor hominis
10 (Pope John Paul II
first encyclical) states
How precious must
man be in the eyes of
the Creator if he
gained so great a Re-
deemer65 and if God
gave his only Son in
order that man should
not perish but have eter-
nal life66
if he does not experience
it and make it his own if
he does not participate
intimately in it
The man who wishes
to understand himself
thoroughly must with his
unrest uncertainty and
even his weakness and
sinfulness with his life
and death draw near to
Christ He must so to
speak enter into him
with all his own self he
must appropriate and
assimilate the whole of
the reality of the Incarna-
tion and Redemption in
order to find himself If
Man is in continuous
search for his own iden-
tity and purpose in Life
According to Christian
Anthropology man is
created in Godrsquos own
image and likeness (Gen
126) 1 John 48 states
―God is love Jesus
Christ truly God and truly man is one person
and His nature is love
Man cannot live with-
out love He remains a
being that is incompre-
hensible for himself his
life is senseless if love is
not revealed to him if he
does not encounter love
6 Service Putting
love in action
7 Joy Here we now
have our priorities set
That is 1 God 2 Fam-
ily 3 Job
Our first priority should
be God For Scripture
says ―Seek first the king-
dom of God and His
righteousness and all the
rest will fall in line
8 Heaven If we are
to reach this place we
must take the 2nd to the
7th steps slowly
but surely
1 The world We are
born and live in a world
where sin abound
2 Conversion Some-
how we come to know
God and His love
3 Empowerment We
let the Holy Spirit be
active in our life
4 Group Member-ship We seek to belong
to a group
5 Community Groups
come together having
one heart and one mind
The chapter assembly
for January 2011 deviated
from its regular format to
give way to a beautiful
teaching given by Brother
Ale Aguspina
Since the goal of our
life is being united with
God our maker it is but
fitting to start the year
refreshing us of how we
should take that journey
Brother Ale outlined
the eight steps to heaven
simply and beautifully that
they seem easy Easy or
not here are the steps

Judge not the day by the harvest you reap but by the seeds you sow For in the end
