Congratulations The staff would like to acknowledge all parents for their dedication to home learning. This week we would like to especially acknowledge Penny Sargeant, Arlen and Lily’s mum. Penny has shown persistence and a very positive attitude to learning from home. She developed a reward system that worked (most of the time) to encourage her children to complete set tasks and do their best at all times. Thank you, Penny, for developing safe, respectful learners.
P&C News Our Canteen is REOPENING this Wednesday! Thank you to all who have volunteered to help. Beck Wigg is in the process of doing a roster for the rest of this term but to start with we have the following volunteers;

P&C Winter Raffle Thank you to Amanda and Bryton Hopkin’s family for donating a load of firewood to raffle. The load is valued at $150. Please find a book of raffle tickets attached to this newsletter for your family to sell. It would be appreciated if these could be returned sold or unsold by Monday 25 May. The raffle will be drawn at our Week 5 assembly which is to be held on Friday 29 May if social distancing restrictions enable us to hold it.
Please do your best to sell these tickets to anyone who could use a load of wood. Tickets are $1 each.
The Hopkins family have wood for sale for the winter. It is $150 per load and is available to order from Allan Hopkins on 0421829655
Managed Return to School We welcome back our students today, Monday, 11 May from 8:45am to 1:50pm, Monday to Thursday. Only students of essential workers will attend on Fridays. All students will be completing the same unit of work, whether at home or at school.
In our managed return to school, we will split the students across four learning groups with 10 students in each group. We will be using all rooms in our school. This structure will remain in place until phase three of the Department of Education’s managed return to school plan.
These groups will be: Silver Seals Mrs Rowston in the YY Classroom White Wombats Mrs Evans and Mrs McWhirter in the library Turquoise Turtles Mr Turtle in the GG room Pink Possums Mrs Campbell in the PP room.
Miss Burge is unfortunately unable to continue with us this term. We welcome Mrs Lyn Evans to our Yoogali School family. Mrs Evans will be working at Yoogali PS on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Students will need to be wearing their full winter school uniform each day.
Students may wear sports uniform on Fridays, however, we will not be doing any organised sporting activities. All students will be doing the same PE activities whether they are at school or at home. Afternoon Sessions will be structured as follows:
2:00-2:15pm PE follow the PDHPE timetable in the Learning Pack sent home this week.
2:15pm-3:00pm Other Key Learning Area Activity. It may be History, Geography, Art/Craft or Physical Education
3:00pm-3:10pm Mindfulness activity

We expect homework to be completed daily. Homework will include home reading and spelling practice. This can be completed before or after the mindfulness activity. It should be returned on Thursday morning to the small group learning teacher.
On Fridays, all students will complete their set home learning and either lodge it online or return it to their teacher on Mondays.
A timetable of Friday activities is attached to this newsletter. This timetable will remain in place until further notice.
What do I return? What do I keep?

unit. • Readers and magazine • Any Library books • Anything you will need for school
• Art/ craft supplies e.g. pencils, oil pastel crayons, glue, chalk
• PDHPE e.g. skipping ropes, balls, torches
• Maths resources, e.g. dice, cards, counters
Students will still be working on Science, History, Geography, Art and PDHPE at home in the afternoon.
Drop off & Pick up Social distancing will need to be adhered to when you drop off and pick up your child. Please bring your child to the gate in the morning and let them in. Please avoid congregating there. You are welcome to come into the school if you have business in the office, otherwise, we ask that you let your child in and leave.
In the afternoons, we must be all mindful of minimising our social contacts, particularly between the adults in our school community.
• Students will wait inside the gate until all family members are ready to walk SAFELY to a vehicle.
• Please do NOT park in the first parking bay. Please leave this for parents and carers to wait for their children.
• Please wait on the yellow dots outside the gate and ensure a safe distance between adults.
Feeling Unwell? If your child is feeling unwell we ask that you keep them at home. Please notify the school of their absence and send in a note when they return to school. We strongly encourage taking your child to a doctor to get clearance and have tests done if recommended before returning to school.

Library Students will be required to return and borrow books on Monday and Tuesday mornings only. This must be done before 9:10am. Students must have a library bag to borrow books and will be able to borrow two books at a time. Online Updates Yoogali Public School uses a number of online programs to distribute information. Stewart House In Term 1, we sent home donation envelopes for Stewart House. Due to the current COVID-19 issues, this fundraiser for Stewart House has been postponed until Term 4. Please hold onto your envelopes and more information for this will be posted in late Term 3 or early Term 4.
Scholastic Bookclub Bookclub has moved online due to COVID-19. The website is: scholastic.com.au/book-club/virtual-catalogue-1/ or you can download the scholastic loop app, the link is on the scholastic website. Your orders aid the school with commissions so we can buy library resources and we thank you for supporting our students. If you need help with this come and ask the school anytime. Issue 3 orders are due online by 22 May 2020.
