Hugh Mulgrew who recently suffered serious injuries in a motorcycle accident nearhis North Sydney home. Rushed to Royal North Shore Hospital, he spent some timein the spinal unit. THE FLORES HOBBITS AN AUSTRALIAN ORIGIN?

The discovery in recent times by Australian archaeologists on the Indonesianisland of Flores, of 18,000 year old skeletal remains of a race of 1 metre tallhominids, that inhabited the Indonesian islands in the last Ice-Age or Pleistoceneperiod, is currently causing considerable scientific debate. Yet it is becoming clearthat these remains, christened Hobbits, are an hitherto unknown race of primitiveHomo.

A female skeleton of 1 metre height dated 18,000 years old, has received alot of media attention, while other remains are as late as 12,000 years BP [BeforePresent]. Older occupation evidence on the island of Flores pushes back the

occupation of this tiny race to around 95,000 years.The archaeologists expect to find further remains of what they now call

Homo floresiensis on neighbouring islands.There can be no doubt that Homo floresiensis will be shown to have a much

earlier origin, but the scientists, in looking to Asia for the answers have overlookedAustralia as a possible land of origin for the Hobbits ancestors. From my ownresearches spanning some 42 years and joined by Heather since 1972, I haveuncovered fossil evidence not only demonstrating Homo erectus having beenpresent in Australia going back 2 million years, but that there was considerablediversity in populations as from a study of the mineralised skull-types recovered byme from over a wide area of Australia. Not only were there giant forms, but alsopygmy forms of Homo erectus.

Readers are by now familiar with the 1 million or so years-oldmineralised ironstone partly mummified pygmy hominid head from Essingtonoutside Oberon, found by Mrs Joy Colley some years ago and kindly donated toHeather and I for our researches,. This head matches an identical sized skullendocast from Maryborough, Queensland which was recovered by us from the basegravels of a 25 metre high sloping embankment overlooking the Mary River. Thislimestone mineralised fossil has been dated to around 400,000-500,000 years old.Both fossils represent a single species which I have now given the scientific nameof Homo essingensis.

This race was the same height as the Flores beings. The suggestion posed byus is: could the Australian Hobbits have been the ancestral race from which[allowing for regional evolutionary differences] the Flores hominids developed?

As time goes on perhaps further Australian fossil finds will add weight to ourtheory, meanwhile there is other fossil evidence to be considered, in the form of anapparent pygmy Homo erectus race, populations of which inhabited the Sydneydistrict, if not elsewhere in Australia, in the dawn mists of the Pleistocene period.

The evidence for this race consists of a small mineralised ironstone skullminus the braincase, recovered by Greg Foster in a western suburbs creek bankdeposit dating from the dawn Pleistocene period around 2 million years ago,Beneath this skull is a Pliocene shoal of much harder material than that in which

the skull was found. The fossil measures 11cm tall by 12.5cm width and 9cm inlength from the thick, projecting brow ridges to the rear of available skull dome.The cranium is flattish, there is a projecting muzzle distorted towards the left and

the underside reveals a 4.5cm width dental arch 4cm in length. The remains of fourteeth are faintly visible on the left arch.

Gregs find is monumental, because it shows that, while proto-Homo erectus[as represented by a skull and endocast of 2 million years age] was present on theBlue Mountains [ie Katoomba where the fossils were recovered], archaic [ieclassical] Homo erectus was already present, having evolved from his neighbour at

some earlier date. Proto-Homo erectus must have evolved from an earlier form inlate Pliocene times [that is perhaps a million years earlier] eventually beingreplaced by his Homo erectus proper offshoot. Whether Gregs pygmy Homoerectus is the father of the 1 million years onwards Homo essingensis andtherefore the great-grandfather of the Flores Hobbits remains to be seen, but it iscertainly a tantalising possibility well worth pursuing!

Gregs little pygmy erectus is to be christened in the Gilroys forthcomingbook the Yowie Living Fossils of the Dreamtime, which largely concerns itselfwith the anatomical/physiological aspects of the Homo erectus/Yowie. Gregsimportant find now bears the scientific name Homo erectus fosterii.

No sooner had the Gilroys new book Blue Mountains Triangle SecretUnderground Australian/American Bases and the Et Connection been releasedthan it is selling like the proverbial hot cakes!

Yet, just after we placed it in the hands of the printers we came intopossession of some new and startling accounts which will have to wait for thesequel. These new leads reveal new additions to this already unbelievably vast

underworld land and its links with other underground bases elsewhere in Australiaas well as in New Zealand.There is some suggestion that a number of people who disappear every year

may have ended up in the Blue Mountains and other bases elsewhere in Australia.Some of these people possess technical skills which would be of use to theresearchers down below.

Some of the new information concerns the possibility that the Burragorangcomplex in particular may play an important role in connection with the top secretbases believed to have been established by the US military on the Moon and Mars!

The mighty mother ship or rather mammoth space community has beenseen circling the earth from far out in space again and I observed it on several

evenings from my backyard as well as out on Cliff Drive. This space community,fully discussed in our new UFO book, appears to dispatch craft to earth [ie theBurragorang Base] or else spacecraft fly to it from the Blue Mountains andelsewhere. It is certainly a staging area for expeditions beyond earth.

There is some activity going on at present in the Burragorang and someSkywatching by our Club could result in sightings of mystery craft there. Somestrange manoeuvres have been reported to me by one eyewitness. It seemscertain that some sort of technical activity is presently under way there.

As I write, I have been informed of some mysterious UFO activity takingplace over Glen Davis and the Wolgan Valley, where an underground base entry

point is believed to exist.All these and other developments will make interesting reading in the sequelto Blue Mountains Triangle, which will contain further time window incidentsand alien abduction cases from Blue Mountains residents and elsewhere.

Just after publishing our book, I was informed that a large saucer-type craft,was seen one dawn in December last year, to emerge from the ocean off Nine MileBeach north of Newcastle. It glowed gold in the early morning sunlight as itzoomed off at great speed, north-west over the Taree district.

Similarly, six large silver-glowing craft were claimed seen hovering undercloud level over the ocean just south of Kiama which is in the vicinity of theundersea base discussed in our book. This incident, which was reported in January

this year, occurred around 3am. The people who watched the objects, say theyremained stationary for several minutes before moving off eastwards to abovecloud level to disappear from view.

By the time we prepare the sequel to Blue Mountains Triangle we willsurely have a lot of new information to add to all the material which we did notinclude in the first triangle book. In the meantime we will continue to watch theskies for answers to this ongoing mystery.

LOST SCIENCESOFTHE URU.By Rex Gilroy

As I write this article I am preparing a long-planned book on the lost sciences ofthe URU, the advanced Stone-Age megalithic civilisation which as our book Uru The Lost Civilisation of Australia reveals, was the origin of the Atlantis legend ofPlato.

The cities and large settlements established by this people, who as theabove book points out, were populations of the first modern humans, who evolvedhere in Australia from Homo erectus, long before their first appearance in Africa,which the scientists tell us, was around 200,000 years ago. New fossil hominiddiscoveries is pushing back the beginnings of modern humans towards the 1million years mark, which gives plenty of time for the Uru [as our earliest modern

humans called themselves in Australia] plenty of time to have gradually developedwhat was in effect, the first civilisation on earth, in the form of the megalithiccivilisation. They developed a written language by at least 50,000 years ago in theform of picture and symbol writing which survives today only upon rocks aroundAustralia and elsewhere.

The name Uru is the root word for Aryan and they would eventually spreadtheir culture out across the earth, influencing the rise of the later Old Worldcultures, as URU The Lost Civilisation of Australia points out. The reader canpursue these matters at greater length in this book, but for now let us turn to someof the achievements of this people to be covered in the new book

I have already written considerably about the megalithic monuments erectedby the Uru across Australia, so ancient and weathered that they are oftenunrecognisable to anyone not involved in this kind of research.

Their astronomically-aligned structures often cover hundreds of squaremetres, even many kilometres. The Bathurst Stonehenge itself covers some 10square kilometres and there is a perpetual flow of natural earth electricity goingthrough these monuments, which has not changed since the erection of thesemonuments was completed over 20,000 years ago! Yet to what purpose was thiselectrical energy put and how was it employed?

We would gladly know how this remarkable people created so many wonderswith the crude materials available to them, for it is becoming clear that, by around100,000 years ago they were starting to erect stone circles, alignments and otherstructures and by 20,000 years ago, if certain rock art and inscriptions are correct,they had developed flight, first in the form of crude hang gliders and then crude,large hot air balloons!

They could not develop the wheel, but flight compensated for this, as didtheir development of large water craft, with which they carried on deep inlandtrade on long-vanished Ice-Age river systems, as well as by sea.

Their knowledge of the medicinal properties of various plants aided theirmedical science. They grew and harvested certain plants and berry-producing

shrubs as part of their agricultural science, which included animal husbandry.Yet the greatest of all mysteries to man people has always been, how the

ancients were able to move often massive, even cyclopean rocks, sometimes overgreat distances, for erections as part of temples, stone alignments etc with novisible means. Ropes and wooden rollers just will not do as an explanation, yet ithas always been the favourite of university-based desk experts.

The fact is, the Uru sang often massive stones into place, first by loweringthe density of each stone to make it lighter [!] before transporting it by, we areshown in inscriptions, levitation! How this was achieved we hope to adequatelyexplain in our book now in preparation

*****The Uruan priestly castes of every major city and settlement are said to havepreserved their knowledge in many cases with the use of quartz crystal-impregnated stone altars, whereby they sang their information into the stones.This aspect has some merit, for it is general knowledge today that quartz crystalcan receive and transmit sounds. People who have lain , either purposefully orunknowingly upon former Uruan altar stones, have often afterwards reportedhaving heard voices coming from the rocks. These voices spoke in Uruanlanguage, so that if the words can be recorded on the spot, say with pen andpaper, it is possible to translate the information via the Uruan written script.

It took the author 28 years to translate what I also discovered to be a

mother language and it is from this that I am able today to learn what I have sofar of this remarkable people and their civilisation.

Some of the aspects to be investigated in the new book will be: theirattempts at a crude photography; their uses of flight; their places of learningwhere separate schools were established for the teaching of different subjectsand sciences, such as astronomy, medicine, navigation, writing etc. One massiveStone-Age university is currently being mapped out and its thousands of rockscripts being recorded by the authors in the Sydney area. It is far too important tobe made known to the general public, lest it fall victim to graffiti carving vandalsand others!

This people invented the pyramid concept, which was to be spread out

across the earth. Uruan pyramidal structures, often formed out of hills which theymodified into four-sided structures cover much of Australia and which often have aSun-worship purpose when not constructed as temple-observatories. The Blue

Mountains possesses some of the most ancient Uru cultural evidence in Australia.The authors, assisted by Greg Foster, are currently working upon a naturalziggurat-like rock formation hereabouts, whose summit possesses a crumbled rockstructure which was once a Sun-worship temple. Upon its terraced sides arecountless astronomical observation messages. This mighty formation was in factthe centrepiece of a city complex of mud and stone dwellings which clustered

around the base of the ziggurat and beyond, fresh water being provided by anumber of creeks which still flow today. A great causeway leads down one side intoa deep gully and which is divided into two terraces upon which are sun and Moonworship/astronomical temples, containing altar stones, rock incriptions [two ofwhich record sightings of a comet] and also small stone images.

The Uruans possessed a lengthy pantheon of gods and goddesses, but theirprincipal ones consisted of: the Supreme Being, Ay-I; Earth-Mother Goddess, Nif;and their son and daughter; these were Nim, the Sun-God, and Ara, the MoonGoddess and great open-air temples were raised to them in the granite and basaltregions of the country, such as in the New South Wales far west and New Englandregions. Many such sites are currently being uncovered by the Gilroys in southern

New South Wales. These structures involve often stones of impossible weights,yet they were moved into place!

The Blue Mountains structures can also include, those of greatsandstone/ironstone rocks, or else they are open sites containing smaller rocksoutlining the precincts in which altars occur, but always engraved script exists,often in great profusion nearby.

*****As the new book will point out, the cities of the Uru are gateways to

understanding their culture and their achievements. Their philosophical life iscovered with extensive attention to their religious philosophies and the role of each

deity in their lives. While the more primitive Aborigines who shared the landscapewith them sat about chipping crude stone tools, the Uru were erecting massivestructures and at night gazing at the heavens which they mapped and wonderedhow those specks of light, which they believed were other worlds like our own,might be reached. Hence one reason for their development of flight, tens ofthousands of years before the Wright Brothers achievement.

There is considerable beauty in the Pagan religion of the Uruans and as willbe pointed out, their basic beliefs, passed on down through the ages, formed muchof the early Christian religion, which still [unknowingly] preserves lost symbols ofUruan Sex worship today!

In our quest to reveal as much as possible of the mighty Uru, Heather and I

have tracked their monuments to New Zealand [they in fact cover the world!],searched Australia and been assisted by trusty helpers in various parts of thecountry.

Ann Taylor has helped in uncovering open temple sites around Katoomba,such as in the Kanangra area, as has Greg Foster, who has done and continues todo, an incredible job uncovering hidden sites in the urban sprawl regions ofSydney. One wonders what their Sydney region sites and settlements must havelooked like, thousands of years before modern civilisation built over the works ofUru.

Greg is helping us to record massive temple sites at Kanangra and in theCentral West, where city-size settlements always surrounded central megalithic

temple complexes.In the past I have written about the Lost City of Kanangra. There are in

fact, many lost cities and settlements of this people spread across Australia and

our book now in preparation will eventually reveal these and the sciences whichhelped create them. The Uru truly were, the Promethean Flame that illuminatedMankind! -0-
