Prof. Ambali, who gave the advice last Monday (September 14, 2015) during a media interactive session, said that the Minister of Education could come from any sector of the society “as long as the person understands the importance of education to national development”. The Vice-Chancellor stressed the need for the government to put structures in place to improve primary education in the country. He said,“Manpower in the primary education sector must be trained and developed before there can be improvement in primary education in the country. The welfare of primary school teachers must receive attention. At the University of Ilorin, we have the Department of Primary and Adult Education, which cares for manpower development in primary schools”. Prof. Ambali, who gave the advice last Monday (September 14, 2015) during a media interactive session, said that the Minister of Education could come from any sector of the society “as long as the person understands the importance of education to national development”.

The Vice-Chancellor stressed the need for the government to put structures in place to improve primary education in the country.

He said,“Manpower in the primary education sector must be trained and developed before there can be improvement in primary education in the country. The welfare of primary school teachers must receive attention. At the University of Ilorin, we have the Department of Primary and Adult Education, which cares for manpower development in primary schools”.
