WATERS ACQUITY UPLC PFC ANALYSIS KIT Perfluorinated compounds (PFCs) are used in a wide variety of con- sumer and industrial applications. These compounds are extremely stable, persistent in the environment, and bio-accumulative. PFCs such as PFOA and PFOS have been detected at parts-per-billion (ppb) levels in wildlife tissues and human serum. As a result, there is a need for rapid, sensitive, and accurate methods for the analysis of PFCs in environmental and biological matrices. The Waters ® ACQUITY UPLC ® PFC Analysis Kit, in combination with the ACQUITY UPLC System, ACQUITY ® TQ (tandem quadru- pole) Detector, and MassLynx™ Software, enable environmental testing laboratories to accurately quantitfy trace levels of PFCs by eliminating background PFC interference. The kit includes the PFC Isolator Column, ACQUITY BEH analytical Column, PFC Standards, vials, and Oasis ® HLB Cartridges for SPE. Greater sample throughput for improved productivity Separation of PFCs is performed with the ACQUITY UPLC System. UPLC ® utilizes sub 2-μm pressure tolerant column particles and high-pressure, low dispersion fluidic modules. Compared with traditional HPLC, UPLC analyses have as much as twice the peak resolution, are up to three times more sensitive, and can be nine times faster – the result is greater sample throughput, lower solvent usage, and significant reductions in cost per analysis. High sensitivity with simplified operation The ACQUITY TQD is an easy-to-use, enhanced capability tandem quadrupole mass detector specifically designed as an affordable, fast MS/MS system compatible with ACQUITY UPLC. The combina- tion of UPLC, TQD, and the PFC Analysis Kit allows for the detection of PFOA and PFOS at sub parts-per-trillion (ppt) levels in drinking water samples. To simplify instrument operation for users of any experience level, the ACQUITY TQD is equipped with IntelliStart™ Software, which automatically optimizes MS parameters and moni- tors system performance. The solution – analogous injections are made with system modified with the ACQUITY UPLC PFC Analysis Kit. PFC contamination is delayed sufficiently to clear the analysis region and allow for accurate sample PFC quantification. The Waters® ACQUITY UPLC® PFC Analysis Kit, in combination
