Hisloveanddevotionfortheparishhasbeenclearlyevident,andweweretrulyblessedtohavesuchafaithfulparishionerstepintothisrole.WhenGuytookoverthisposition,theparish’sfinancialsituationwasoutofcontrolandtheparishlackedproperdirectionandleadership.Guywasabletostabilizebothareas,givingusaveryleanbudgetandhelpingtoadvancetheparish’smission.Inparticular,Guyhelpedoverseetherestorationofourorgan,notaverysmallundertakingatall.BecauseofGuy’svisionandassistance,hebreathednewlifeintoOldSt.Mary’s,enablingtheparishtocontinueitsmissionofproclaimingJesusChristasKingandbringinggraceintotheworld.ThankyouGuyforyourworkandsacrificeovertheseyears.MayGodBlessyouinretirement,andweallhopetokeepseeingyouaround!Admultosannos! WithGuy’sretirementandwithmyappointmentastheParochialAdministrator,overthepastyearitbe-cameapaparentthattherewassomeoverlapbetweenourmutualresponsibilities.Afterreceivingtheadviceofmanypeople,Idecidedthattheparishnolongerrequiredabusi-

nessmanager.However,tocontinuetheworkthatGuyhelpedtobegin,theparishcontinuestoneedagoodstruc-tureofadministration.Tothisend,JohnMartinwillcon-tinueinhisroleascaringfortheparish’sfinancialrecordsandbanking.Wehavevariousvolunteerscomingintotheofficethroughouttheweektoassistinvarioustasks,andthiswillalsocontinue.However,togivetheofficeafulltimeperson,MissClareFordwillassumethepositionofAdministrativeAssistantbeginningsometimeinJanuary. ManyofyoumayknowClare,butClareisacitizenofGreatBritainwhohasbeenactiveatOldSt.Mary’sthepastfewyearsthroughmanyvisitstotheUnitedStates.ClarehasdegreesinTheologyandhasworkedintheBish-ops'ConferenceofGreatBritainintheirOfficeofEvange-lization.SheiscurrentlyaparishionerattheBirminghamOratory,CardinalNewman’sOratory.Clarecomeshighlyqualifiedforthisposition,andinadditiontomanagingtheoffice,willbeofgreatassistanceintheareasofevangeliza-tionandworkingwiththeOver-the-Rhineneighborhood.OnceIhavemoreinformationonClare’sarrivalandstartdate,Iwillpassthisinformationalong.Nowfinanciallysolid,ourgoalistocontinuetheworkofJesusChristthroughevangelizationandtofillourpews.Afterall,wehavespacefor900.
