    AFTER almost a year spentsearching for their dream home,Sam Laceby and Dan Clark werebeginning to think theyd nevermove. That was until they decidedto pay a visit to the opening ofLavender Fields, a new developmentby Taylor Wimpey Midlands inEvesham.

    Low miles Mini was

    double price winnerTHERE was a record attendance atJohn Goodwins recent collectivesale at the Pavilion Room, Ledbury,when a number of vehicles wereamong the lots.

    The first set the scene for otherswhen a 1989 Mini more than doubledexpectations at 3,100. The price wasno doubt influenced by theextraordinarily low mileage lessthan 9,000 miles with a full bundleof supporting documentation.

    Perhaps the most startling price ofthe sale went to another vehicle, thistime a toy Triang Major pedaltractor complete with additional seatattachment and trailer.

    This was originally bought at

    another local auction for 120 andwas estimated at 150-200. Biddingopened at 100 and rose steadily inan increasingly hushed auctionroom to achieve a final hammerprice of 1,200 prompting a ripple ofapplause. It was sold to a localprivate collector.

    Once again the strongest section ofthe sale was jewellery, boosted by alarge entry of gold coins, no doubtprompted by recent record high goldvalues. Krugerrands made up to780, sovereigns (205) and one halfsovereigns made 135, reflecting ascarce date.

    The best prices of the day werereserved for two impressive rings.The first, a white gold and platinum2.3 carat diamond solitaire made4,100. The highest price went to an18 carat white gold and platinum,

    sapphire and diamond cluster ringwith a fine quality Burmesesapphire surround by 10 brilliant cutdiamonds. It sold for 4.,200.
