Corporate Announcements & Financial Scoreboard Tata Motors in wage talks with Lucknow plant union, current pact ends this month (Rs.460, -3%)

Tata Motors has started talks with the union at its Lucknow plant for negotiating a new wage agreement.

The existing agreement expires at the end of this month, according to the company’s 2015-16 (Apr-Mar)

annual report. "We have started discussions at Lucknow where the agreement falls due next month and we

expect to close it in a cordial manner as in the past," a company spokesperson said in an e-mail to mail. The

company's Lucknow plant makes light commercial vehicles and medium and heavy commercial vehicles.

Tata Motors' India plants are located at Jamshedpur in Jharkhand, Pune in Maharashtra, Pantnagar in

Uttarakhand, Sanand in Gujarat and Dharwad in Karnataka. The company has separate long-term wage

agreements -- typically lasting three to four years -- with the recognised unions at each of the plants. The

company has labour unions for operative grade employees at all its plants across India, except at the

Dharwad plant. In 2015-16, the company had witnessed some incident of labour unrest at its Dharwad

plant. The matter was amicably resolved. Tata Motors Marcopolo, which is also in Dharwad and an

associate company, has a union. On the issue of wage agreement at the Dharwad plant where the

company does not have a union, the company spokesperson said, "With respect to Dharwad, we have the

Works council wherein there are equal representatives of workmen and management. This works council

meets regularly, at least once a month, discusses and manages all the day to day affairs including

conditions of work etc." According to the annual report, around 98% of the operative employees at

Lucknow, Jamshedpur, Pune, Pantnagar and Sanand plants are members of these employee unions. These

employees represent 53% of the total permanent employees at these five plants.

company will get right to develop, design, finance, construct, operate and maintain the commercial

facilities to be leased upto period of 90 years. Manoj Vadodaria, CMD of Nila Infrastructure said, "In line

with our vision, to contribute to the economic prosperity and growth through participation in project of

national importance, we have got this opportunity to provide a travelling-experience to the passengers of

GSRTC."

Expect 7-10% loan growth next year; collections improving: Magma Fincorp (Rs.104, 0%)

Magma Fincorp, one of India's leading non-banking financial companies (NBFCs), has seen some fund

action as two Mauritius-based funds -- Laurus Mauritius sold 3.33% stake and Indium V (Mauritius) sold

2.03 cr shares. Speaking to media, Kailash Behati, CFO of Magma Fincorp said that there was a significant

drop in collections post demonetisation, in the months of Nov and Dec. However, January onwards it has

been improving. "Demonetisation problem is over and the company has returned to near normal," he said.

Since the rural economy was impacted a bit more due to demonetisation, there were delays in payments in

the tractor segment, he said. Tractor segment forms 20% of the company's overall portfolio. On the loan

growth, he said "Loan book for the current quarter will remain flat but we expect the loan book to grow

between 7 and 10% for the next quarter", he further added. The company has taken approval for selling

part of its assets that have been non-performing (NPA) for two years.

Axis Bank denies CEO Shikha Sharma’s resignation rumours (Rs.485, -1%)

Shares of Axis Bank’s clarification on its MD’s resignation as well as Kotak Mahindra Bank founder’s

comments on Tuesday. “… (The rumour) is false, speculative and is being circulated with the malafide

intention of misleading the investors and the general public,” the lender clarified in a notification to the

exchanges. Meanwhile, Kotak on Tuesday appealed to the government to send “strong signals” to

encourage the private sector to take “honest risks” and “grow fearlessly” and said the time had come for

hostile takeovers in the country. He was speaking in a panel discussion at The Growth Net event. “I would

love to see the merger and acquisition (M&A) market in India get developed further,” he said, adding,” may

be a time has come where we should see some hostile takeovers as well. We have not seen them for a

long-time in this country.” The time has come to move forward and be bold and there will be challenges in

sectors. You are seeing telecom sector going through its challenges and moving forward,” he said. Kotak’s

remarks are significant considering the persistent speculation that Kotak Mahindra Bank was likely to make

a bid for Axis Bank. Before posting Wednesday's gain, the stock fell over 4% in the past three days.

Hudco gets Sebi approval to float IPO

State-run Hudco has received capital markets regulator Sebi's approval to raise funds through an initial

share sale as part of the government's disinvestment drive. Hudco had filed draft papers with the Securities

and Exchange Boardof India (Sebi) in January and got the markets watchdog's "observation" on Mar 10,

which is necessary for any company to launch public offer. The initial public offer will comprise sale of

200,190,000 equity shares --10% stake -- by the central government through an offer for sale (OFS) route,

as per the Draft Red Herring Prospectus (DRHP). A discount of up to 5% on the issue price would be given

to retail investors and Hudco employees. The paid up capital of Housing and Urban Development

Corporation (Hudco) is Rs.2,001.90 crore as on Mar, 2016. The government holds 100% stake in the

company. IDBI Capital, Nomura Financial Advisory and Securities, SBI Capital Markets and ICICI Securities

will manage the company's public issue. The proceeds from Hudco disinvestment will form part of the

government's disinvestment kitty in the current fiscal. The government expects to raise Rs.56,500 crore

Positive supply audit report to open floodgates of new orders: Fiberweb India (Rs.298, +5%)

Fiberweb India was buzzing in trade after Wal-Mart auditors gave a thumbs-up to supply audit report.

However, the Chairman and Managing Director Pravin Sheth clarified that it was Lowe's Company that

conducted the surprise audit. Lowe's are the main suppliers to retailers like Wal-Mart, Home Depot and

that the company does not directly supply to Wal-Mart. This positive supply audit report is sure to open

floodgates to news orders for the company, said Sheth. The company manufactures high-quality Spun

Bond Polypropylene Non-Woven roll goods and products thereof, used in Hygiene industry, Agriculture

Crop Cover, Soil Cover, Medical and industrial clothing and many other innovative products, like Bags,

Pillow ticks and Covers, Bed Covers, Curtains, Table Cloth, Garment Interlining, etc. The new order inflow

will help take care of expansions, said Sheth. The compnay plans to expand from 7500 tonnes to 10 tonnes.

ONGC seeks gas price review; wants floor rate fixed at $4.2 (Rs.193, 0%)

State-owned Oil and Natural Gas Corp (ONGC) has sought a review of the natural gas pricing formula as

rates have dropped below cost. India's largest natural gas producer demanded a floor or minimum price of

natural gas be fixed at USD 4.2 per mn British thermal unit for the business to make economic sense. The

BJP-led government in Oct 2014 had evolved a new pricing formula using rates prevelant in gas surplus

nations like the US, Canada and Russia to determine rates in a net importing country. Prices have halved to

USD 2.5 per mmBtu since the formula was implemented. "Keeping in view of cost of production of gas, cost

of alternate fuels and other market dynamics, Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas is requested to

review the existing domestic gas price formula and provide a floor price at least to the level of earlier APM

(regulated) price (USD 4.20 per mmBtu)/ non-APM price (USD 4.20 to USD 5.25 per mmbtu) fixed in June

2010," ONGC said in a communique. The new formula provides for revising rates every six months - on

April 1 and October 1, based on one-year average gas price in the surplus nations with a lag of one quarter.

When the formula was implemented, rates went up from USD 4.2 to USD 5.05 per mmBtu but fell to USD

4.66 per mmBtu in April 2015 and to USD 3.82 in October that year. This fiscal, prices further dipped to USD

3.06 per mmBtu in April and to USD 2.50 per mmBtu in October. Oil Minister Dharmendra Pradhan in a

written reply to a question in Lok Sabha on March 20 had stated that the cost of production of natural gas

in the prolific Krishna Godavari basin is between USD 4.99 per mmBtu and USD 7.30 per mmBtu. The same

for other basins is in the range of USD 3.80 per mmBtu to USD 6.59 per mmBtu, he had said adding the

production costs of companies vary from field to field depending upon size of the reservoir, location,

logistcs and availability of surface facilities. Next natural gas price revision is due on April 1 and it is widely

expected that rates may go up by up to 8% to USD 2.7 per mmBtu, still way short of the cost. As per the

mechanism approved in October 2014, the price of domestically produced natural gas is to be revised

5

every six months -- April 1 and October 1 -- using weighted average or rates prevalent in gas-surplus

economies at Henry Hub of US, National Balancing Point of the UK, rates in Alberta (Canada) and Russia

with a lag of one quarter. The rates for April 1, 2017 to September 30, 2017 period will be based on

average price at the international hubs during January 1, 2016 to December 31, 2016. Alongside the rate

for gas from existing fields, the price for undeveloped difficult fields would also go up from current rate of

USD 5.3 per mmBtu. ONGC is the country's biggest gas producer, accounting for some 60% of the 90 mn

standard cubic meters per day current output.

Auditor raises concerns on recovery of ABG Shipyard's receivables (Rs.23, -5%)

GMJ & Co, independent auditor of ABG Shipyard, has raised concerns on recovery amounting to Rs.1,762

crore. Media learns from the report that there are several doubts on possibility of recovery of various

advances and receivables given out by the company to the tune of Rs.1,762 crore. The company is yet to

receive Rs.500 crore of subsidies from the government. The report highlights the fact that the company has

suffered losses consistently which has eroded the net worth. The report also suggests that advances of

Rs.461 crore paid to suppliers are outstanding for a long period and no services have been received in

return. One other serious issue pointed out by the report is the fact that the company has not appointed

an internal auditor as required by Sec 138 of Companies Act of 2013. The issues raised in the report may

affect the company as it is in the process of finding suitors.

Expect CFS volume growth to continue at 5-7%: Allcargo Logistics (Rs.164, -4%)

In an interview to media, Prakash Tulsiani, COO of Allcargo Logistics talking about the business outlook said

he is confident of maintaining the volume growth for container freight station (CFS) at 5-7% going forward

too. Export-import volume growth for the company stood at 1-2%, which is higher than the market, said

Tulsiani, adding that they expect the grow higher than the market in future too. With a good product mix

the margins of container freight station (CFS) would improve, he said.
