What are you most grateful for?

An atheist was walking through the woods. ‘What majestic trees! What

powerful rivers! What beautiful animals!’ he said to himself.

As he was walking alongside the river, he heard a rustling in the bushes behind him. He turned to look and saw a seven foot grizzly bear charge towards him. He ran as fast as he could up the path. He looked over his shoulder and saw that the bear was closing in on him. He looked over his shoulder again, and the bear was even closer. He tripped and fell on the ground. He rolled over to pick himself up but saw that the bear was right on top of him, reaching

for him with his left paw and raising his right paw to strike him.At that instant the atheist cried out ‘Oh my God!’Time stopped. The bear froze. The forest was silent.

As a bright light shone upon the man, a voice came out of the sky. ‘You deny my existence for all these years, teach others I don’t exist and even credit creation to a cosmic accident. Do you expect me to help you out of this predicament? Am I to count you as a believer?’ The atheist looked directly into the light: ‘It would be hypocritical of me to suddenly ask you to treat me as a Christian

now, but perhaps you could make the bear a Christian?’‘Very well’ said the voice. The light went out.The sounds of the forest resumed. And the bear dropped his right paw, brought both paws together, bowed his head and spoke: ‘Lord bless this food, which I am about to receive from thy bounty through Christ our Lord, Amen.’

God Is Smart

OThroughout the week you go thru number of interactions and events

and you interpret those events in your own unique way. That creates the base of happiness or unhappiness. Knowingly or unknowingly you tend to operate from your created emotional base. Now comes the weekend; whatever you do in the weekend either increases or decreases your existing base of emotions. For example when you operate from happiness base throughout the week; and you celebrate weekend with friends and family then your weekend increases your happiness base. Contrary to that when you spoil your weekend by any means you decrease your

happiness. So in either case your base emotion remains happiness, either it increases or decreases.Similarly when you operate from a base of unhappiness and wait for the weekend to enjoy; your weekend can only increase or decrease your unhappiness. When it decreases your unhappiness you get a relief but it’s temporary. And it is not happiness; remember it is the decreased unhappiness that gives you an escape from miseries. And on the contrary when you operate from a base of unhappiness and something unpleasant happens then your unhappiness increases. So keep creating a base of happiness during the weekdays so that you don’t wait for weekend to

unwind. Don’t do the reverse also: trying to create a happiness base in the weekend. It will betray you because it is temporary escape.Keep enjoying the present, keep celebrating small successes, keep complimenting people, relish little nuggets of laughter and create a base of happiness. Sometimes your happiness will increase and sometimes it will decrease but happiness will remain your operating system.

“Peace comes from within. Do not seek it without.”

If I were to ask you what is your biggest responsibility? What will be your answer?

My answer is, “Our biggest responsibility is to become what we can and do what we can. Nothing more, nothing less.” Death is not the greatest loss in life. The greatest loss is what dies inside us while we are still alive. I sincerely believe that if a man for whatever reason has the opportunity to lead an extraordinary life, he has no right to keep it to himself. It is better to wear out than rust out.

Our Biggest Responsibility Responsibility is all about making

choices. Life is all about choices and unexplored choices. Being humans we have been given tremendous freedom to choose. We are the end result of our choice. We are free to choose, but are bound to the consequences of our choices. So, make right choices.

Only human have the freedom to choose. We are free to exercise our choices and these choices/decisions have results in life. God does not interfere while we are making our choices, but certainly keeps a record of them and subsequently results are delivered. Good or bad, habits always produce results. Most

of our habits do not produce immediate results, and as a result, we persists with negative habits and quit positive habits (exercise, honesty, integrity, giving, prayer etc.). Cultivate the habit of Doing The Best You Can and You Can Have a Life Full of Achievements Which You Are capable of.

One life, infinite responsibilities, personal and professional targets to achieve, tight routine, many plans, few vacations, traffic jams, relatives, colleagues, family, cha-os, anger, faith and so much more; just in this one life. And then on the top of it people call our gen-eration cynical. Why? Because we do what we think we are re-ally good at or because we choose somebody to spend our lives with. I guess these two are the biggest reasons why we as a generation has been labelled as ‘selfish’.

However this labelling is way overrated. Just give it a thought for a minute, we as a genera-tion are the people who actually are making the world a better place to live in, for our parents

and for future generations. Be it in the field of science and tech-nology, education, business, economy, family, and so on.

It is our generation which under-stands something which is valu-able and precious than any other thing, and that is knowing self and exploring self. Also, we are let-ting our previous and future gen-erations to be free from all those illogical restrictions of age and society and figure out life as per their perception (of course some guidance is needed However, it’s just guidance not imposition).

We understand that our parents have worked very hard to make us what we are and there is no one who denies the fact that our

grandparents and parents built the base on which this generation is now trying to construct a beauti-ful building. The fact is that this generation equally respects its roots and that is why even in this chaotic and competitive life we all manage to find our way back home. We have our own challeng-es and it’s a fact that we are man-aging to cope up with everything while keeping our roots firmly at-tached. Can all this be done by a generation which is self-centered?

There is no path to happiness: happiness is the path.”

A Marketing LessonBe Happy & HealthyTwo beggars are sitting side by side on a street in Rome. One has a cross in front of him. The other one the Star of David.

Many people go by and look at both beggars, but only put money into the hat of the beggar sitting behind the cross. A priest comes by, stops and watches throngs of people giving money to the beg-gar behind the cross, but none give to the beggar behind the Star of David. Finally, the priest goes over to the beggar behind the Star of David

and says: “My poor fellow, don’t you understand? This is a Catho-lic country. People aren’t going to give you money if you sit there with a ‘Star of David’ in front of you, especially when you’re sit-ting beside a beggar who has a cross. In fact, they would prob-ably give to him just out of spite.”

The beggar behind the ‘Star of Da-vid’ listened to the priest, turned to the other beggar with the cross and said, “Sol, look who’s trying to teach the Goldstein brothers about marketing!”

Simon was a diligent son, but not that bright. Eventu-ally his mother became ex-

asperated with him lying around the house and urged him to get a job. Now Simon was good at one thing: chopping down trees. So, off he went, his axe over his shoulder, in search of work.

Soon he came upon a clearing in which logging was being carried out. (Readers of a nervous dis-position should be reassured that this logging was a fully sustain-able and environmentally ethical operation.)

He marched up to the supervisor and asked if there was any work available. “Well it depends how good you are. Chop down that tree and I’ll see.”

Simon enthusiastically set about

the task and completed it to the supervisor’s satisfaction.

“You’re hired. Start right away”, he said.

And Simon started work, apply-ing himself with a commendable zeal. It was Monday afternoon, and the day soon passed. As did the following few days.

On Friday afternoon, Simon hap-pened to see the supervisor. “I’m glad I’ve found you” the super-visor said. “Please collect your cards and leave, your services are no longer wanted.”

Simon was flabbergasted! “How come? I am your most productive worker. And now you’re reward-ing me by sacking me!”

“Well, it’s true you were the most

productive worker on Tuesday. But by Thursday you had sunk to the least productive. And you’re doing even less well today.”

“But I start early and finish last. I work through lunch. I spend all my time chopping down your trees.”

“I agree”, replied the supervi-sor, “but how much time do you spend sharpening your axe?”

Does it sound familiar to you too?

I see it happening all around in the corporate world. Stop Worry-ing, Start Working.

“Lot of hardworking people STOP working on themselves.”
