Billboard maintains several internationally recognized record charts, which track the most popular songs and albums across several categories on a weekly basis. This issues main focus is on Drake, who they have dubbed the new face of hip-hop. The front cover shows a close up on Drake, claiming the main attention of the page. The picture is in black and white, which makes the colours in the name of the magazine stand out more. This title is also in front of the rapper, implying he was not as well-known as Billboard at that time. The different colours of the fonts also help stand out, and the main colour used is yellow.

The date of this issue is April 2013. This issue’s main focus is about the film Iron Man 3 that would have just came out. The front cover shows a medium shot of Robert Downey Jr. in the Iron Man suit, grabbing your attention. The font has used the colours of red, gold and blue to match his suit. The size of the font is also quite large. The name of the magazine, Empire, is set behind Robert Downey Jr, implying that he is more widely known than the magazine or is more important.
