3
Geometrical survey of the entire fifteen century’s monasteryincluded the cloisters and the other communal areas.

The aim of the project was to try redeveloping the area of Polesella (Rovigo) characterized by the presence of the bed of an anchient r iver (cal led «Fossa») reclaimed after the disastrous flood of 1951. For this reason we realized an agricultural theme park supported by pedestrian and cycle paths and a hotel area, that could gift to the city a second life as cultural and touristical standpoint. In this way we worked with a moduled scheme of 4x4 meters that generates the basic form of all the project.

Plan of the ground floor obtained using the method of trilateration based on polygonal lines
The investigation and research of data were carried out at the Archivio di Stato di Brescia and at the Sovrintendenza, and then cont inued in s i te with the production of the architectural facades’ and the ground floor’s CAD designs . Obtained plants and prospects we analyzed the perspective axis through the use of 3D models and simplified representations of the "structure" of the building.

Optical cone analysis
We tried with the 3D model, derived from the survey, to analize the point of view of the spectator and how the prospectical axis could influence him and his perception of the building conformation.
Perceptual light-shadow analysis
The deep entrance and porch with two double bay create a suggestive play of light and shade that emphasizes the role of perspective and depth of the Vantini’s fountain, which are in contrast with the entrance area.

Sequence analysis of the optical cone inside the building.

«LA CITTADELLA» - A SPRAWLING HOTEL FOR LONATO DEL GARDA RESTAURO ARCHITETTONICO - 2014
PROF. ARCH.B.SCALA
The aim of the course was to look for the redevelopment of an area owned by the municipality of Lonato del Garda with strong artistic and historical value: «La Cittadella». The argument proposed by Ugo da Como Foundation in collaboration with the Università degli Studi di Brescia was designing a citywide sprawling hotel, allowing to exploit the artistic beauty of Lonato, first and foremost the Rocca. Our group focused on the analysis of a particular house going to produce an accurate architectural survey and cataloging the state of d e g r a d a t i o n a n d b u i l d i n g ’s materials. At the end of this phase the goal was to try to create a restoration p r o j e c t a n d a r c h i t e c t u r a l appreciation that would allow the public to make accessible the structure without disrupting the existing system. Our work has focused on the analysis of «Casa Casella», one of the buildings of the Cittadella near the city tower.

Analysing the pre-existence we produced the drawings relating to the material and degradation part. T h e n , b a s i n g o n t h e s e investigations, we come to propose new measures, both in s t r u c t u r a l ( fl o o r a n d r o o f reinforcements) and architectural level. For this reason we decided to collaborate with the group that it was analyzing the next-door House (Casa Sacchi) in order to create a more uniform structure and functional as possible. The result is a hybrid project between business proposal , related to typical products of Lonato (like wine and oil), and a hote l structure d iv ided into multiple apartments. The goa l was to c reate an environment that would allow the encounter between citizens and tour ists , reducing the c lear separation between public and private areas.

All these phasese are fundamental to the project the interventions needed.(from left to right)

Structural rehabilitation of the ceilings and roofWe have chosen an uninvasive solution based on the use of stud connectors inserted in concrete. In this way the original wooden planks could be maintained and the intervention risulted less invasive . For the roof we thought about a total replacement of the insulation package.

Section A-AYou can see on the ground floor the development of the eno-gastronomic area, while the upper floors are characterized by the hospitality function. Special importance is attributed to the recovery of the cellar under the patio flooring, that can be used for wine tasting.

SHAMBERG HOUSE | RICHARD MEIERINFORMATICA GRAFICA - 2009
PROF. ARCH. M. DE PAOLIING. G.GUANI
«White is the most wonderful color, because whitin it you cansee all the colors of the rainbow. The whiteness of the white isthe almost always transformed by light and which is changing:the sky, the clouds, the sun and the moon»Richard Meier 47
During the course of «informatica grafica» (A.A. 2009-2010) we adopted for the first time some 3D modeling softwares like Archicad and Cinema 4d.All the groups of student had to redesign a building of a famous architect in 3D and after that generate a model with which can be made renders and other graphical il lustrations. My group had to model the Shamberg House designed by Richard Meier. This building, in harmony with Meier’s phi losophy, is based on simple geometrical figures. The house can besubd iv ided in to a sequence of parallelepipedons that describe all the functions of the ambiences (the bigger one identifies the living room). The stair and the gallery represent the uniqueness of the curve. There’s only one colour : the white.

Exterior scene render
Longitudinal section - It is clearly visible the golden ratio between voids and the intercolumnio. The purity of Meier's architecture seems reminding to the Greek classical principles.
Trasversal section - The volume is configured by essential lines as a large block, which can be decomposed into other different regular spaces. The object that combines the living room with the other areas is the fireplace, which assumes a preponderant role.
