Opening Prayer (In Unison) Almighty and Most Merciful Father, we come before You, acknowledging our sins, our shortcomings, and our breaking of our Covenant with You. Not only have we done things we ought not to have done, said things we ought not to have said, left undone so many things we ought to have done and been silent when we should have witnessed for You. Not only are we guilty of that, O Lord; but we have also closed our eyes and pretended not to see the injustice that pervades our everyday lives. We have shut our ears and pretended not to hear the cries for liberation which come from the lips, lives and hearts of the oppressed. Forgive us, O Lord, renew our courage and faith, and keep us ever mindful of your great sacrifice. Hear us, we pray as we come to You in love and worship giving Your name the praise forevermore. Amen. Unison Scripture Reading: Deuteronomy 6:4-9 (NCV) 11 Command and teach these things. 12 Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity. 13 Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to preaching and to teaching. 14 Do not neglect your gift, which was given you through a prophetic message when the body of elders laid their hands on you. 15 Be diligent in these matters; give yourself wholly to them, so that everyone may see your progress. 16 Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers.

Opening Prayer (In Unison)

Almighty and Most Merciful Father, we come before You, acknowledging our sins, our shortcomings, and our breaking of our Covenant with You. Not

only have we done things we ought not to have done, said things we ought not to have said, left undone so many things we ought to have done and

been silent when we should have witnessed for You. Not only are we guilty of that, O Lord; but we have also closed our eyes and pretended not to see the injustice that pervades our everyday lives. We have shut our ears and

pretended not to hear the cries for liberation which come from the lips, lives and hearts of the oppressed. Forgive us, O Lord, renew our courage and faith, and keep us ever mindful of your great sacrifice. Hear us, we

pray as we come to You in love and worship giving Your name the praise forevermore. Amen.

Unison Scripture Reading: Deuteronomy 6:4-9 (NCV)

11Command and teach these things. 12Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in

life, in love, in faith and in purity. 13Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to preaching and to teaching. 14Do not neglect

your gift, which was given you through a prophetic message when the body of elders laid their hands on you. 15Be diligent in these matters; give

yourself wholly to them, so that everyone may see your progress. 16Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will

save both yourself and your hearers.

God, we love you and the genuine expression of love is giving. You showed your love for us first by giving us your Son. We demonstrate our love for you by giving now a portion of what you have given to us. We give freely. We give cheerfully. We will not rob you. Instead, we will worship you by giving from our heart.  You are our #1 priority. We will not treat banks or bills better than we treat you because you deserve all the glory, the honor and the praise. We refuse to live under a curse. Therefore, in obedience to your Word, we bring our tithe and our offering to you today. PUT your promise into action! Open the windows of heaven and provide what we need for our desires and our destiny! POUR into our lives the phenomenal and spectacular by releasing a blessing that is beyond our wildest dreams! PROTECT everything that we currently have and do not permit the enemy to abort anything that you are trying to give us for our future.  The tithe is what we owe, the offering is seed we sow. We sow now with the expectation of jobs and better jobs, of businesses and greater businesses, of raises and bonuses, of houses and land, of freedom from debt and supernatural increase. Bless us indeed and enlarge our territory as we live for your glory. Alleluia! In the mighty, matchless and miraculous name of Jesus, we confess. Amen!

Mother Sarah Armwood and Mother Louise Beasley

Mother Sarah Armwood and Mother Louise Beasley were faithful workers of the group of Christian believers that were led by Sis. Sallye Johnson. The group included members of the Adams, Borden, Daniels, Faison, Gordon, Guest, Henderson, Logan, McWhite, Monroe, Nelson, Perry. Rutherford, Shaver, Snelling, Stiles, Washington, Watkins, and Williams families who founded THE 22nd STREET CHURCH OF God in November, 1914 in Tampa, Florida. Today, the Armwood name is associated with Armwood High School in Seffner, Florida. The school is named in honor of Mother Armwood’s niece Blanche Armwood who was an administrator, educator, lawyer and served as a liaison between the black and white races of Hillsborough County.
