SOMEONE LIKE YOU
BY: SARAH DESSEN
Bri Ann Brinkley
In this novel the main characters deal with
everyday problems like everyone else.
The genre of my book is realistic, fiction
The Truth About Forever.
By: Sarah Dessen
Waiting For YouBy: Susane Colasanti
The setting makes this book a Realistic novel
In this story two girls work together to over come the challenges
they face in high school
This novel is fiction because its not based on true
people.
“For most of high school, we hadn’t known
Michael Sherwood that
well, even though we’d
grown up in the same
neighborhood.” Page 23.
Chapter Two.
QUOTES THAT MAKE THIS NOVEL REALISTIC.
“What’s wrong?”She just shook his
head.“What?” I said
She reached behind the paper towel
dispenser and pulled out a small white
stick-shaped object with a little circle on the end of it. As she held it out, I saw that little circle was bright pink cross. Then all at
once it hit me.”Page 95. Chapter
Five.
“Grandma Halley was staying in a place called Evergreen
Rest Care Facility. Some of the people were bedridden, but
other could get around; women in
motorized wheelchairs zoomed
past us down the corridors, their purses clamped against their
laps. Page 188. Chapter
Twelve
The reason for my book also being fiction is that its not based on a true story or real people. This book is about people like us handling the issues and the stress and
the problems we do. Being pressured into sex. Having a baby at a young age.
WHY THIS NOVEL IS FICTION.

HALLEY HELPS OVER COME THE CHALLENGES OF HER BEST FRIEND SCARLETT BEING PREGNANT.
“Halley”! Come here quick!” I whirled around. She was standing in her open front door, hand on
her stomach, waving frantically. “Now! Hurry!”“I got to the front step,
panting already in a crisis mode, and found her
smiling at me, her face excited.” “What” I said.“She took my hand and put it on her stomach, toward the middle and
down, and I felt her skin, warm under my hand. I
felt a ripple.. Of the baby kicking”

“I wondered what kind of girl she’d be, and if she’d ever see the comet that was
her name, and Grandma Halley’s,
and mine. I knew I’d try one day, to take
her and show her the sky, hold her against my lap as I told her how the comet went overhead how it was clear and beautiful, and special, just like
her.”Page 280. Chapter
Nineteen.
EVALUATION: IS SOMEONE LIKE YOU A GOOD EXAMPLE OF A
REALISTIC FICTION?
Sarah Dessen, did a great job on making this book. The reality of this novel is so real, because it happens in our
everyday life. Also the fiction of this story is that Halley and Scarlett, and all the other characters in my story are not real.
But the way this book is put together makes you visualize what’s actually happening. Her details are sharp and easy to
understand. What wasn’t so good about this book is that it was very predictable in what was going to happen. For the
most part I was very satisfied with this book.
