CityCo strives to make Manchester city centre a better place to work, visit and live. As part of our city centre, you’re part of the story, part of what makes this city tick, and part of what makes our city succeed. We all want Manchester to be a thriving, competitive

and sustainable international city. And achieving this brings benefits to all. At CityCo, we connect businesses with public agencies, bringing together the people, ideas and energy to make great things happen. As a member, you will have the chance to have your opinion heard and meet other key players in city centre Manchester through our networking events and city-wide activities.

As the city centre management company, we represent companies across all sectors, sizes and locations. We also run the city’s first Business Improvement District, the Heart of Manchester BID. It’s all about the right connections and the right intelligence – together we can create a vibrant and prosperous city centre.

CityCo’s network includes Bruntwood, Cornerhouse, Capital Properties, Hilton Hotels, Argent Estates, Living Ventures, magneticNorth, Great Northern, DWF, Manchester Arndale, MMU School of Art, Barclays, Manchester Galleries and NCP to name just a few.

And through our management of the Heart of Manchester BID, we have contact with over 380 businesses in the retail district.

We have around 130 members from a range of sectors including retail, leisure, property, professional and financial services, hotels, transport, education, utilities, creative industries and hospitality.

These could be around litter, street cleaning or the removal of commercial waste for example. We can also escalate complex problems to do with traffic management, noise, homelessness and begging on your behalf. These may not be the most glamorous of subjects, but are the things that really matter to people in the city centre.

We will help to deliver the environmental improvements that mean your business can continue to maintain the very highest standards.

Our corporate events are your chance to meet decision-makers, share your views and experiences, strike up partnerships and build the network your business needs. They are also programmed to inspire and create debate about ideas and best practice from across the country and overseas.

We run a number of streams including CitySessions, CityConversations, CityBriefings and an annual CityLunch for senior colleagues.

Bringing our streets to lifeFestivals, markets, concerts, special shows – no matter what the occasion, Manchester knows how to put on the best events. And CityCo is part of the picture.

We put our members at the very heart of our activities. Our events aim to drive higher spending ABC1 audiences into the city centre and include Northern Quarter celebrations, The Manchester Picnic, Canal Festival, MCR Student Takeover, Chinese New Year and Dig the City, our urban gardening festival. As a member of CityCo you can benefit from the increase in footfall and positive local, regional and national media exposure our events attract.

Showcasing your brand to our PA NetworkCityCo coordinates a network of over 380 PAs, Executive Assistants and Office Managers from across the city centre business community.

It’s free to join and we run special evening events every two months. Usually held at a bar, restaurant, shop or hotel, it’s a chance for our members in corporate hospitality to showcase their brand, products and facilities to this incredibly influential group of bookers. An established and well-regarded network, it has a long track record of securing future business for our members.

The Manchester Business Crime Reduction Partnership (MBCRP) helps to create a safe and secure city for customers, staff and visitors by reporting and tackling crime, offering expert security training and providing information and alerts to the business community.

Our members benefit from:

• 24/7 security account management

• Access to an online portal (DISC) to share data on repeat offenders

• Business representation at meetings attended by GMP and relevant parties

• Access to a day/night radio network, linked to a CCTV control room

• Management of city centre Civil Exclusion schemes

• Delivery of security training sessions

Reducing crime CityCo coordinates the MBCRP with city centre businesses, Greater Manchester Police and Manchester City Council.
