Extremely durable and easy to clean,Bühne Board™ effectively transforms themost demanding of environments inhealthcare, fast food, transport, educationand retail. Bühne also offers an exceptionallyhigh resistance to bacteria, making it anideal choice for hygiene critical areas.

Bühne’s contemporary colour range hasbeen developed in partnership withFormica® and through consultation withtrend forecasters. It includes a diverse mixof matte, textured and marble effectdesigns, with colours to complement orcontrast every interior.

Manufactured from sustainableresources certified by FSC(Forest Stewardship Council),Bühne guarantees environmental andsocial responsibility. It is produced usingMDF from Coillte, Ireland’s largestcommercial forestry.

Essentially, Bühne has been designed tomeet the fire requirements of public areasand is BS 4476 Part 7 Class 1 Fire Rated.

Created as tongued and grooved, thesystem, includes panels, end trims andcolour matching sealant, providing theperfect finish to high traffic commercialareas.

COMMERCIAL SURFACES

Derived from the Germantranslation of ‘Stage’,Bühne was developed as aplatform to showcase thecreativity and architecturewithin the design of anyCommercial environment.

The range offers a diverse mix of solid, textured and matte designs, including some from Formica’s® TrueScale

collection. For neutral environments, there’s an array of classic greys, denims and concrete designs, while

energising reds, poolside blues and tropical greens create locations with impact. Artisan tones

take inspiration from wood, metal and the

environment, with designs such as Terracotta

and Leaf Green.

We understand that creativity is at the very heart of every design project. Our introductory colourselection of Bühne has been developed in close co-operation with interior design trend setters andindustry reports as well as the design team within Formica®, our key supply partner.

The selection of twills is of particular interest – offering trending tones, but with a softness whichcould almost be mistaken for fabric. We believe that these decors will allow the functionality ofBühne to be specified for new internal areas such as retail or hotel receptions.

For a wow factor, we have included two decors from Formica's ® award winning TrueScalecollection. Specifying Travertine Silver or Calacatta Marble offers the authentic look of premiummaterials with no repeat pattern across the width of a sheet of laminate.

The linear wall emphasises theclean installation that Tongue& Groove, together with colourmatched sealant provides.'Return tile’ upstandscomplete the finishedappearance.

Finishing trims

Bühne Board™ can be supplied complete with the required finishingtrims. All trims are also biologically treated to kill bacteria in thesame way as the laminate surface, ensuring complete assurance ofyour environment.

The finishing trims are available in four extruded profiles; a cappingstrip, an H-section (for vertical connection of installations more than3030mm high), internal and external corner sections.

Guide Specification

Sealants

Biologically treated colour matched sealants areavailable to prevent any dark lines which may occuron the panel joints. A watertight fix is achieved with asilicone or acrylic sealant as appropriate, this will notcrumble or harbour germs or bacteria.

Skirting Detail

Bühne Board™ can be installed without skirting toprovide a floor to ceiling effect. Alternatively, skirtingcan be fixed directly to Bühne Board™ without theneed for any special preparation.

Care & Maintenance

Laminate surfaces are best kept clean using waterand mild detergent. Non scratch liquids or creamsare recommended for stubborn stains. This is theonly form of maintenance required.

Timber battens (pressure impregnated with suitablewood preservative in areas of high humidity ormoisture) shall be applied to the wall horizontally atnom. 600mm centres. Panels are to bepinned/screwed to battens through tongued andgrooved fixing profiles. No prior preparation of thewall is necessary; battens may be fixed directly to masonry.

Sealant shall be applied in the tongue of the panelon fitting.

For use on wall lining higher than 2.4m.Allows panels above to be secured to first panels

How many panels?

When calculating the number of panelsrequired, start from a corner and work aroundthe room or corridor finishing above a door orwindow.

Pipes and ducts may be concealed behind theBühne Board™ wall lining system. If required,accessories may be fixed directly onto thepanel with no risk of cracking or grazing,provided proper installation procedures arefollowed.

That’s why, where possible, we havereplaced core materials with MoistureResistant (MR) Grade MDF under theterms of FSC (Forest StewardshipCouncil) and its associated ‘chain ofcustody’. Our MR MDF is made only fromsustainable supplies of softwoods grownin the managed forests of Coillte.
