Data Source

Starting from 1998, all container throughut

figures except those on ocean empty

containers are compiled by the Census and

Statistics Department based on cargo

manifests. Figures on ocean empty

containers handled at "Kwai Tsing

Terminals" and "Mid-Stream and Other

Berths" are based on figures provided by

container terminal operators and Marine

Department respectively.

There may be a slight discrepancy

between the sum of individual items and

the total as shown in the tables owing to
