Special EventsEncinitas 25- Yesterday, Today & TomorrowOn October 1, the City celebrates 25 years since its incorporation in 1986. Event festivities will include live performances, exhibitors, food, prizes and more. This year’s event theme is in line with the City’s General Plan theme of “Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow.” The San Dieguito Heritage Museum will provide displays depicting the “yesterday” of Encinitas. The many cultural, community and civic group booths will showcase the best of what Encinitas offers “today,” and an area displaying future City projects, including the update of the City’s General Plan will represent the “tomorrow” in the theme.

Adding to the fun of the City’s anniversary celebration, in conjunction with the City event, the San Dieguito Heritage Museum will present its 3rd annual Lima Bean Cook-off, with local chefs competing to see who can bring taste and style to the lowly lima bean. Believe it or not, before there were flowers, lima beans were an important crop to the early inhabitants of Encinitas. To celebrate this agricultural history, the Lima Bean Cook-Off will offer many delicious dishes. Still, if lima beans aren’t your thing, the event will also offer for sale delicious culinary offerings from a selection of favorite local eateries.FREESaturday, October 112:00 - 4:00 PMLocation: San Dieguito Heritage Museum-450 Quail Gardens Drive in Encinitas
