Habanero Salsa (UiO Style)
2 “teeth“of garlic
1/3 of an onion
3 spoons of olive oil
3 tomatoes (medium ones)
4-5 Habanero chiles (must be yellow)
250gr of “coriander”
1/3 of a Lemon (“Citron”, yellow big lemon)
Add the amount of salt, cumin oregano and pepper you like.
Lots of “love and patience”
Step 1
Have all the ingredients ready before you begin. WARNING HABERNO CHILE IS VERY SPICY AND CAN BE“HARMFUL” FOR YOUR EYES AND SKIN: BE CAREFUL.
Step 2
Heat some olive oil and pour the onions & garlic, wait until it becomes yellowish and add the tomatoes. Wait 5-10min till it boils homogeneously.
Step 3
Add the “species” (coriander, pepper, cumin, lemon, oregano, etc) and Habanero chile . After 10-12minutes pour the mixture in a blender, if there is no blender you can use a traditional Mexican Molcajete which gives one amazing flavor (stone flavor, weird perhaps, but tastes better) or in the worst case, if no instrument, one fork (I won’t advice to “beat” the salsa till “death”, especially if you have the inconvenience of going to the toilette).
Serve your salsa in one special container and enjoy the power of the capsaicin. =)
