Gosford Times 14th June 1917 OURIMBAH (From our Correspondent) Mr and Mrs J Henry, of Ourimbah, have been advised by cable that their son, Private Jack Henry, has been killed in action during the "big push" in France on 15

th May last. He enlisted in February, 1915, joining the

34th Battalion, and after a course of training at Rutherford Camp was sent to England where he put in a

couple of months at Sailsbury Plains, and was then sent across to France. The deceased soldier lad was only 33 years of age, and was born at Bellawongarah, South Coast district. Mr and Mrs Henry have two other sons in the firing line. Deep sympathy is expressed for the family in their bereavement.

other name to be added to the list of heroes from this district who have made the great sacrifice.

Gosford Times 16th May 1918 HERNY;- In sad but loving memory of our dear son, Private John Henry, who was killed Somewhere in France, whilst fighting for King and Country, on May 15

th, 1917

We prefured his safe returning We longed to clasp his hand; But God has postponed our meeting till we meet in a better land Inserted by his loving father and mother, brothers and sisters.

Gosford Times 13th June 1918 Mr John Henry has been notified that his third son is missing. His other two sons were killed in action some months ago. We all deeply sympathise with Mr and Mrs Henry and family in their sorrow.
