S3 footwear is a general use product that covers many industry sectors. For example: Light industry, heavy industry, Health care, Food processing,Logistics and Delivery, Warehousing, Construction industry, Engineering and manufacturing, Farming and agricultural, office and administration etc.Footwear may be used for any end use where one or more of these risks identified on the footwear CE marking label are present but no additional risks are presented by the end use. For category of protection S3 these risks are:

• Where there is a risk of toe crush injuries through falling loads or compressive forces

• Where there is a risk of nails penetrating the sole under the foot

• Where there is a risk of injury caused by fires/explosions by ignition from electrical static sparks and a risk of electric shock from contact with nominal mains voltage is also present or a risk to a third party caused by static discharge such as brillation of the heart

• Where there is a risk of long term injury to the feet, legs and back from repeated physical impacts to the heel

• Where there is a limited risk of water ingress from small splashes over the upper material

• Where the activity requires a fully enclosed heel part to prevent ingress of dirt and debris

• Where a tread pattern is required due to a likely hood of encountering soft lose ground surfaces

• Where there is a risk of contact of the soles with petrochemicals and similar hydrocarbons

The performance and limitations of use for each protective feature are defined in the European standards EN ISO 20345:2011 and can be found inuser instructions enclosed with your footwear.

Crushed feet, broken bones and loss of toes. Puncture wounds to the feet. Cuts, lacerations and severed toes. Burns. Electric shocks. Sprains and fractures. These are some of most common injuries that are sustained in a work place when safety footwear is not worn. Therefore more and more countries are introducing mandatory safety footwear regulations to guarantee protection in the workplace. Protective safety footwear is essential to ensure safe and healthy feet. Because of the many potential work hazards, it is important to know which protective category is right for you.

By combining our experience from stormy water and rough outdoor trail, we have come up with a new outsole material that will provide you with the best grip and durability on wet rocks and trails.

Is a high abrasion TPR/Synthetic material found in all high-wear areas on our shoes. This light- weight, and sturdy application will keep the shoes intact, and your feet well protected against hard and sharp objects for a prolonged period of time.

L-Protection® by LENZI® is an impenetrable, metalfree midsole that adds extra protection to your safey shoes. This protective material is made out of multiple layers of High Tenacity fibre fabric and has been treated with a special ceramic coating.

The perforation resistance of this fabric decreases as the diameter of any penetrating object becomes smaller. In comparison, the fabric offers enormous benefits thanks to its protective surface, ergonomical aspects, convenience, flexibility, absorbance and shock buffering.

Warmer – Drier – Softer – More compressibleExceptional soft and lofty wamth from ultra-fine synthetic fibers with a dryer sensation from special fiber treatment that keeps water from passing through the insulation.

Primaloft has the highest warmth to weight ratio on the market.

Primaloft fibers absorb approximately 100–250% weight in water while typical polyester insulation gain 400–1000% their weight in water.

Our footwear uses the ZERO(k) anti-perforation insole with maximum resistance against perforation. Soft and flexible, they increase comfort and sensitivity, offering greater control of movements and less strain. The possibility to use it as a strobel stitched insole increases the protection surface by 100%. Excellent thermal and electrical insulation. It is not detected by the metal detector.

Boa’s proprietary closure system of steel Lace, nylon guides and a mechanical reel was designed to address the long list of deficiencies found in traditional closures. Get a perfect fit with the simple turn of a knob, free of the stretch, weight, and hassles of old-fashioned closures.

GREEN DIAMOND is an engineered silicum carbide crystal impregnated into the rubber of a sole and exposed to grip onto icy surfaces. As the rubber wears away, more GREEN DIAMOND crystals are constantly exposed to ensure ongoing performance.

It is used on our soles to achieve a high performance on ice. This combination provides the ultimate in slip protection and dramatically reduces the likelihood that you’ll slip or fall.

OutDry® is the emerging technology for waterproofing footwear. Thanks to an innovative lamination process, the very fine membrane is applied uniformly on the inner surface of the uppers. Each potential point where water could get into the footwear is perfectly sealed-off. With OutDry® no more water gets into the footwear. The foot is dry and there is no additional weight throughout the day. The materials and processes utilized

by OutDry® system are engineered for durability in extreme conditions, and mantain their characteristics for the entire lifetime of the footwear.OutDry system uniformly seals the upper’s inner surface with a thin waterproof barrier (0.05 millimeter). There are no folds, no seams and no seam-sealing tapes. This eliminates potential points of friction with the foot, and consequently decreases the risk of blisters.

W.E.D. wire electrostatic discharge Strip with conductive silver filaments. In contact with the foot, this feature ensures anti-static footwear over time, with any type of hygienic insole.

Footwear using the W.E.D. technology has the advantage that your can remove the insole of the footwear, replacing it with any other insole, while still maintaining its antistatic properties.

FRESHTEC® is an invisible antimicrobial treatment that is applied to our footwear. The treatment inhibits the growth of fungi, mold, and mildew, in addition to odor and stain causing bacteria. The FRESHTEC® treatment stops bacteria and fungi from reproducing, which creates a safe and comfortable product. We ensure the effectiveness and durability of FRESHTEC® through standard testing by product safety organizations.

Maximum Insulation, temperature regulating T-MAX® insulation is a light-weight, hypo-allergenic insulation used in footwear to provide warmth without the bulk and to help regulate your body temperature. T-MAX® insulation is made with a combination of high performance fibers that keep the body warm, dry and comfortable and allow excess moisture and heat to escape.

The passionate pursuit of better footwear

The QUAD COMFORT® footwear technology consists of a minimum of 4 comfort components, which address shock absorption, weight distribution, cushioning & pressure displacement and occasionally outsole performance. The construction of the footwear depends on its end use and the requirements of the footwear. The four components are integrated between the

foot bed or insole, through to the bottom of the outsole. If a component provides a significant and functionally noticeable advantage, it may also comprise a feature that is incorporated into the upper of the footwear. Shock absorption is addressed by adding additional cushioning in the heel of the shoe as it is the first areas of contact when walking. Another component of comfort can be added under the ball of the foot to help distribute weight, alleviate pressure points and

provide greater energy return. For cushioning and pressure displacement, our footwear uses light-weight, flexible functional midsoles that can be made up of many densities of cushioning. Lastly, outsoles are functionally engineered to provide the utmost in comfort, shock absorption and flexibility. Other outsole materials may also be considered such as leather if they truly provide a comfort component or benefit to the end user.

Composed of over 90% air, aerogel is a highly effective insulator with the lowest thermal conductivity of any solid; AEROTHERM uses silica aerogel in producing a strong, durable, and flexible material that is 2 to 8 times more effective than traditional thermal insulation.
