Slide blue flange to the length of the uterus as measured by the uterine sound

Use the string to pull the IUD into the insertion tube

Insert the plunger into the tube

Insert IUD into the uterus until the blue flange is 2 cm from the cervix

Release the IUD arms by keeping the tube steady and advancing the plunger by 2 cm

Notice the ridge on the plunger at the 2 cm mark

Release IUD by withdrawing the tube, holding the plunger steady

To avoid pulling the IUD out of position, withdraw the plunger before withdrawing the tube

Cut the string about 2 cm long

For easier insertion in a curved uterus, the IUD can be curved before insertion
