Key Challenges for Staff after AEC 2015

• As a Manager I expect my front line staff to speak English well and have the confidence to talk to guests in English. No English, No job! Other ASEAN members can speak English!!! (Simon Morley, GM @ Holiday Inn Mai Khao)

I look for staff who enjoy being around other cultures, appreciate the differences in other cultures and their diversity and with this can adapt to the needs of our guests and future ASEAN colleagues.

Having a passion, the right attitude and desire to want to work in hospitality is expected. It cannot just be a job. It has to be a career.

I can teach you any skills, but I cannot teach passion, attitude and working with a good heart. Can you do this? Do you think others from ASEAN have this passion?

Stability & loyalty may not seem important but those who grow the most, develop the most and climb up the ranks, show these traits.

Stability & loyalty means you can be trusted, you are willing to be a part of long term success. You are willing to work hard to achieve.

I look for staff who have had a stable career. Who have stuck with a job, have taken the time to develop in that job and are loyal to a company. Those that jump all the time never get ahead. ASEAN will see a more stable environment in the workplace.

Internship committee reserved the right to cancel their internship applications for that trimester for students who fail to participate. 1. นั�กศึ�กษาต�องลึงที่ะเบุ�ยนัผู้�านัระบุบุ student information system (SIS) ให�ถ�กต�องตามรห�สว�ชื่าStudents must register their internship courses and ensure the accurate subject codes through Student Information System (SIS).2. นั�กศึ�กษาต�องลึงที่ะเบุ�ยนัแลึะชื่�าระเง�นัค�าธิ์รรมเนั�ยมการศึ�กษาตามระยะเวลึาที่��ก�าหนัดัไว� หากนั�กศึ�กษาไม�ลึงที่ะเบุ�ยนัเร�ยนัแต�เข�าร�บุการฝึ4กป็ฏิ�บุ�ต�งานัจนัครบุตามก�าหนัดั คณะกรรมการฯ จะไม�พ�จารณาผู้ลึการเร�ยนั แลึะถ อว�าการฝึ4กป็ฏิ�บุ�ต�งานัเป็�นัโมฆะStudents must register and pay tuition fee for their internship courses within the registration schedule of each trimester announced by PSU registration office. If students fail to do so, their internships will be automatically cancelled even though they already completed required internship hours. Internship committee will not consider any assessment for these students and will declare their invalidity of internships.

1. คณะฯ จะนั�บุชื่��วโมงการฝึ4กป็ฏิ�บุ�ต�งานัให�นั�กศึ�กษาโดัยรวมชื่��วโมงพ�กระหว�างว�นั แลึะจะนั�บุชื่��วโมงฝึ4กงานัส�งส*ดัต�อว�นัไม�เก�นัว�นัลึะ 12 ชื่��วโมง Working hours per day including meal break time assigned by the internship site are qualified as internship hours. Students are yet prohibited to perform more than 12 working hours per day. 2. ระยะเวลึาการฝึ4กป็ฏิ�บุ�ต�งานัให�เร��มต�นัแลึะส�-นัส*ดัตามระยะเวลึาที่��ที่างคณะกรรมการฯ ไดั�ตกลึงก�บุสถานัฝึ4กป็ฏิ�บุ�ต�งานันั�-นั ๆ ไว� เที่�านั�-นั ห�ามนั�กศึ�กษาย*ต�การฝึ4กป็ฏิ�บุ�ต�งานัก�อนัว�นัที่��คณะฯ ก�าหนัดัไว� แม�ว�าจ�านัวนัชื่��วโมงการฝึ4กป็ฏิ�บุ�ต�งานัจะครบุตามที่��ก�าหนัดัไว�แลึ�ว Starting date and ending date of an internship period must be based on the agreement between internship committee and the internship site. No student is allowed to end the internship early before the ending date agreed upon. No exception will be granted even though student already completes the internship hours required by Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism.

3. กรณ�ที่��นั�กศึ�กษาม�จ�านัวนัชื่��วโมงการฝึ4กป็ฏิ�บุ�ต�งานัไม�ครบุตามที่��คณะฯ ก�าหนัดัไว�แลึะต�องการขยายระยะเวลึาการฝึ4กป็ฏิ�บุ�ต�งานันั�กศึ�กษาจะต�องต�ดัต�อคณะฯ เพ �อจ�ดัที่�าเอกสารแจ�งไป็ย�งสถานัป็ระกอบุการ In case that student needs to extend the internship periods to fulfil the internship hours mandated by the faculty, the student must notify an internship office to precede the request of internship extension to the internship site.

1. ในักรณ�ที่��อาจารย0ไป็นั�เที่ศึการฝึ4กป็ฏิ�บุ�ต�งานั นั�กศึ�กษาต�องอย��รอพบุอาจารย0ที่*กคร�-งแลึะนั�กศึ�กษาจะต�องให�อาจารย0ลึงลึายม อชื่ �อในัสม*ดับุ�นัที่�กหร อเอกสารการนั�เที่ศึที่*กคร�-ง ม�ฉะนั�-นั นั�กศึ�กษาจะไม�ไดั�ร�บุคะแนันัการป็ระเม�นัผู้ลึในัส�วนัของการนั�เที่ศึ Student must arrange to meet the visiting lecturer(s) and ensure that the visiting lecturer(s) signs the internship diary or on their internship-visit forms. Failing to obtain signature(s) will lead to losing marks for the internship visit. 2. กรณ�นั�กศึ�กษาที่��ฝึ4กป็ฏิ�บุ�ต�งานัในัต�างป็ระเที่ศึ หากอาจารย0ไม�สามารถเดั�นัที่างไป็นั�เที่ศึไดั� คณะกรรมการฯ จะต�ดัต�อนั�กศึ�กษาหร อห�วหนั�างานัโดัยการใชื่�โที่รศึ�พที่0 หร อ Skype หร อ E-mail แที่นั In the case of any student taking internship overseas where the lecturer(s) will be unable to visit the student at the internship site abroad. Internship committee will contact the student and/or the immediate supervisors via telephones, Skype or E-mail.

งานัในัร�ป็แบุบุต�างๆ ที่�-งแบุบุเดั�ยว หร อ กลึ*�ม นั�กศึ�กษาต�องเข�าร�วมการส�มมนัาดั�งกลึ�าว หากไม�เข�าร�วมนั�กศึ�กษาจะไม�ไดั�ร�บุผู้ลึการป็ระเม�นัในัส�วนันั�- ดั�งนั�-นัการพ�จารณาป็ระเม�นัผู้ลึการเร�ยนัจะค�ดัจากคะแนันัส�วนัที่��เหลึ อเที่�านั�-นั In the case of internship evaluation seminar(s), a student is required to attend and give either individual presentation or group-presentation of the internship experiences. Failing to attend the seminar (s) will lead to the exclusion of the seminar marks. Hence, the course assessment will be given based on other assessments.

Otherwise, the marks given on this part will be removed.

Internship committee reserves the right to revise the actual grade to an “E” grade.

The committee reserves the right to issue this student with an “E” grade.5. หากนั�กศึ�กษาย*ต�การฝึ4กป็ฏิ�บุ�ต�งานัหร อถอนัรายว�ชื่าการฝึ4กป็ฏิ�บุ�ต�งานัโดัยไม�ไดั�ร�บุอนั*ญาตจากคณะกรรมการฯ นั�กศึ�กษาจะไดั�ร�บุผู้ลึการป็ระเม�นั เป็�นั E If student discontinues working with the internship site or withdraws the internship registration without obtaining permissions form internship committee, the student will get an “E” grade.

1) ม�ความร��ในัสาขาว�ชื่าการจ�ดัการการบุร�การ ที่�-งภาคที่ฤษฎ�แลึะภาคป็ฏิ�บุ�ต�อย�างกว�างขวาง เป็�นัระบุบุ เป็�นัสากลึ แลึะที่�นัสม�ยต�อสถานัการณ0โลึก Have comprehensive knowledge of hospitality (or tourism) management, both in terms of theories and operations. Be systematic in works, internationally oriented and updated about the world’s situations. 2) ร��แลึะเข�าใจหลึ�กการแลึะที่ฤษฎ�พ -นัฐานัดั�านัการจ�ดัการการบุร�การแลึะการที่�องเที่��ยวสามารถนั�าไป็ป็ระย*กต0ไดั�ในัการวางแผู้นัแลึะแก�ป็Cญหาในัก�จกรรมดั�านัการจ�ดัการการบุร�การ Know and understand basic rules and theories of hospitality and tourism management. Also, be able to apply the rules and theories to solve problems of hospitality or tourism management.

1) ม�ที่�กษะในัการป็ระมวลึความค�ดัอย�างเป็�นัระบุบุ Have a systematic thinking-skill. 2) สามารถศึ�กษา ว�เคราะห0ป็Cญหาแลึะเสนัอแนัวที่างการแก�ไขไดั�อย�างสร�างสรรค0 โดัยค�านั�งถ�งความร��ที่างที่ฤษฎ�ที่��เก��ยวข�อง ป็ระสบุการณ0ในัภาคป็ฏิ�บุ�ต� แลึะผู้ลึกระที่บุที่��ตามมาจากการต�ดัส�นัใจ Be able to assess and analyse problems, and then come up with creative solutions to these problems, with regards to both theoretical and operational experiences and consequences of these solutions.
