The need for quality in BGA rework
• Most early field failures are caused by defective soldering! • Often, poor quality rework will pass electrical tests but if investigated further would fail more demanding ALT tests • Customers today are demanding quality • Field failures can be dangerous, or irritating and lead to customers seeking alternative brands/suppliers • Poor quality rework WILL cause you problems and the choice is sort out the quality or... do not rework!
