A colleague shared: “Molly is always a team player who displays a positive attitude
even in busy and overwhelming situations. It’s an honor to work with her because you
can always count on her.”
27th Annual Tree of Light Remembrance Hosted by the Aid Association
On December 4th, the AJH Aid Association celebrated the 27th Annual Tree
of Light - its beloved remembrance event that invites the community to
submit names of their loved ones, both in honor or in memory of, listed
on the Tree of Light Scroll.
Aid President Mary Ann Abbott and Mark Goldstein welcomed guests
at the Highland Avenue front porch and lit the Blue Spruce tree - which
stands in honor of the Burr Family - with each light shining in honor
of the 499 names included on the scroll. Following the tree lighting,
people gathered over hot chocolate and treats to enjoy holiday music
by the Georgetown First Congregational Church Bell Ringers and the
Newburyport High School choir.
Thank you to longtime supporter and sponsor of the Tree of Light,
North Shore Bank.

Beth Israel Lahey Health has received official approval by all state and federal agencies
to become an integrated health system set to start on March 1, 2019. This major milestone
has been 18+ months in the making and an incredible amount of work through a rigorous
regulatory review process. But, good things – transformative things – take time, and we are
now at a point where we can turn visions into realities.
While there is much work to be done before the launch of the system, we continue to remain
focused on the day-to-day operations at Anna Jaques; investing in our future and preparing
for the exciting growth and opportunities that Beth Israel Lahey Health will bring. Projects like
the much-needed Parking Lot Renovation are complete, Comprehensive Pain Clinic expansion
is underway, and Gift Shop Renovation is to come in the New Year.
This time of year especially highlights the dedication our employees have to caring for our
patients and community, as the holidays are a special time to be with family and friends
but the nature of our work never ends. Thank you to the many people who work during the
holidays. It is tough to be away from family, but know that the work you are doing is making a
world of difference to another family.
On behalf of the senior team and the Board of Trustees, we thank you for all that you do
and wish you and your family a happy, healthy holiday. I look forward to an exciting 2019 at
Anna Jaques.

NEWSBREAK - DECEMBER 2018 3
On November 29th, Beth Israel Lahey Health (BILH) reached a major milestone after approval by state and federal agencies
and is now moving forward to officially launch the system on March 1, 2019.
The Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office announced its approval after several months of collaboration, and included
conditions that — while unprecedented in scope — are in line with the system vision of expanding access to quality,
integrated care to patients across Eastern Massachusetts. The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) also officially closed its
review which completed the regulatory review process.
Now BILH shifts its focus to bringing organizations together with teams from across the system generating ideas and
recommendations about how we can work together to do more for patients than we ever could as separate organizations.

I’m a nurse on the Newburyport Five Cents Savings Inpatient Unit and wanted to give a shout out to the entire Pharmacy
team for always being so helpful and professional. Whenever I have questions, they have an answer, but also do so in
a patient, courteous, and accommodating manner. Recently I had to call to clarify a patient’s medication dosing to the
on-call pharmacist at 2:00am. The person I spoke with couldn’t have been nicer or more helpful. Thank you to the
Pharmacy for always going above and beyond, being such great team players, and all in all, being a really nice group of
people to work with.
Colleague-to-Colleague Kudos
