Jesus as our Center, we have seen blessings, fruitfulness, good health add to us, just as our soul prospered and rested in Jesus finished work and his word in the Year 2014.“The law and the prophets were proclaimed until John. Since that time, the good news of the kingdom of God is being preached, and everyone is forcing his way into it.” - Luke 16:16What did Jesus reveal that the law and the prophets could not reveal? He revealed the Father. Do you know that our heavenly Father is a good God? Have no doubt about this. God is not good some days and bad others. He is good “all the way through.”Jesus said that the good news of God’s kingdom is being preached and everyone is forcing his way into it. In my experience with outreach and evangelism, everyone has not been forcing their way into it. Perhaps that’s because we’ve been preaching the wrong message. The right message gets the right response. And what is the right message? Well here’s a hint. It’s good news. It’s

not good and bad news. It’s pure, undiluted good news!The good news? God is good!The good news is that God is unfathomably good in word and deed. He has already shown his goodness and grace to us through Jesus Christ. God loves you so much that he sent his Son to die for you and your son. You don’t have to strive or perform to earn his good approval – you just have to receive it. Isn’t that good?When the world sees the goodness of God on display in his church – his favor, his blessings, his healing – they will sit up and take notice.

They’re not going to learn how good he is merely because we tell them. But they will learn when they see it:“God be merciful to us and bless us, and cause his face to shine upon us. (Selah). That your way may be known on earth, your salvation among all nations… God will bless us, and all the ends of the earth will fear him.” - Ps 2,7-67:1Some of the prophets foretold that in the last days, we would

get a revelation of God’s goodness.“They shall fear the LORD and His goodness in the latter days.” - Hos 3:5I don’t know about you but this is certainly true of me. I’ve walked with God for decades, but it has only been in the last few years that I’ve begun to realize that he is off-the-scale good. Of course I always knew he was good, but I’m just learning that his goodness has no shadow, no defect, no qualification. He is the very definition of good (Mk 10:18).Jesus wouldn’t be Jesus, except that God is good. The gospel wouldn’t be good news, except that God is good. We would not be forgiven, redeemed, justified, healed, blessed, or anything, except that God is good. All of these gifts are only good, because the One who gives them is good.Perhaps you have hoped, like David did, that you might see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Well just open your eyes! Unlike David, you live under a new and everlasting covenant based on God’s promise that he will never stop doing good to us (Jer 32:40)! Can you really grasp just how good God is !“God is good all the way through. He is as good as he is holy.”

God Is Good. But How Good Is He?

Someone said the church no longer fears God like in the good ol’ days of the Old Testament. The problem, apparently, is the result of “overemphasizing the goodness of God.” Think about that. We have “overemphasized” the goodness of God. That’s like saying, “He’s good, but He’s not that good..”I beg to differ. If I had just one adjective to describe God I would say He is love, but if I were given a second adjective I would say He is good. Indeed, God is the very definition of good. ”The devil – who is thoroughly bad – doesn’t want us to think of God as being perfectly good. But He is good and everything He does is good. Some say, “God is one,” and He is. The others say, “God is great,” and He is. But the Christian says, “God is good” and rejoices! It is the goodness of God that makes the good news good. Just as there is no bad news in the good news, there’s no badness in God. Imagine where we would be if God were bad, or half bad and half good. We would live under a cloud of uncertainty, fearful of His mood swings. But God is not like that! God never has a bad day, nor even a bad moment. He doesn’t have a bad temper. He never

has occasion to say, “oops, my bad.” Everything about Him is good and He is good all of the time. All of His gifts are good. If you think you have found something good and it doesn’t have God’s fingerprints all over it, you are working with an inferior definition of good. God is the benchmark for what is good. Perhaps you have never heard that God is good. Perhaps you don’t believe it. Then taste and see for yourself! His goodness will lead you to repentance. It’ll change your mind. Make the Good Shepherd your shepherd. He will lead you from the front, while His goodness follows you from behind all the days of your life. If you don’t know where the goodness of God is right now, turn around. It’s right there next to His everlasting mercy. It is simply not possible to overemphasize the goodness of God. You might just as well try and overemphasize His wisdom or try and grasp the breadth, width and depth of His love! God is good….. All the time. But that’s just my opinion. What do you think? Begin to see good manifest in all quarters of life as you keep confessing your righteousness in Christ. Amen! Be Blessed!

Began the year 2014 and prayers for various needs of the church and for the nation (Sultanate of Oman) Pray walk, Breakthrough drive were organized. Accident prone areas were prayed and the Lord heard our prayers. Prayer should be at the centre of every church activity. Using the technology at hand The WhatsApp prayer group in our church has been started. I honestly don’t think there will ever be a better way to prayer than through WhatsApp. Now of course there are difficulties, because isn’t it so nice to all be physically present in the same room together to pray? Yes of course! But then again what about the advantage that WhatsApp has where we can pray all the time everywhere, together. One person sends a message with a prayer request and instead of having to arrange a meeting place, we are all immediately praying for the same thing even though we are in different homes, cities and even countries sometimes. We pray in real time together, as if we were in the same room. And I think God loves it.

One of the great longings of the human heart is to worship, to pursue the spiritual. People worship many things – money, self, careers, etc. Jesus Christ affirmed our need to worship but warned that our worship should not only be in spirit but also in truth (Jn 4:23).

Without the constraints of truth, worship can expose the human mind to the dangers of superstition and deception even in the name of religion.

In other words, worship itself cannot justify itself. It must be anchored in truth which is found in the Person and character of Jesus Christ.

Every believer is a WORSHIPPER.

To love God is to serve Him. Worship then is about loving God whole-heartedly.

Worship is not just some religious activity that occurs in a church. Worship is what we do with our life after we have submitted our wills to God’s will. It follows, then, that a great many things may be considered “worship”!

The act of worshipping in spirit and truth brings order to our otherwise busy lives. Worship brings peace, and peace and unity within enables us to deal with diversity in our community.

I am no longer my own . I was bought with a price and belong to Him . I am a slave to Christ…..worship is about devotion.

Biblically speaking I’m a Praise/Music Director. (see the Psalms … for the Music Director). Nothing more or less- serving (worshipping) God with the gifts He has given me.

What makes a Church Grow ? The main significant factor over all else of why a churches succeed is this one point: they are centered upon Christ as Lord ! They are not centered on a personality, a vision, a denomination, an emerging paradigm, or a set of trends. Growing in Christ is the key to growing a church. It is all about being a good and effective witness of who Christ is and what He has called our church to be and do. Have you considered the benefits of Bible Study attendance for you, your spouse and child? We take our vows to be faithful members of the church; we vow to be involved in worship, mission, and the life of the Church. In Scripture we are given a call to our spiritual formation; and

to do so, we must think, study and ponder how his principles are to affect and impact us as he is Christ the Lord. Bible Study helps us to grow in our faith, helps us to learn God’s will, be part of the mission of Christ’s church. Bible study is profitable, bible study causes growth, bible study helps us to distinguish truth from error. The Study of God’s word is of tremendous importance.Don’t let Satan fool you by drawing you away from it. Christians have the responsibility to teach those around them the relevance of God’s Word. How can we fulfill this responsibility. The Bible contains information on how to be saved, the bible will help one become a better christian, the bible will help the christian bring others to Christ.

We have finished with “Understanding the Law”, which was Term 1, Term 2 was “What is Grace”, and now we are into term 3 - “Declaring your Promises”.Make it your first priority to attend the Bible Study and know more about the word of God !
