Part 1: GENERAL

ACCIDENT means an event that:

(a) Causes any person to be harmed: or(b) In difference circumstances mi!ht have caused any person to be harmed"

4AC0INE+* means an en!ine motor or other app&iance that provides mechanica&ener!y derived from compressed air the combustion of fue& e&ectricity !as !aseous

products seam ,ater ,ind or any other source and inc&udes:/

(a) Any p&ant by or to ,hich the motion of any machinery in transmitted5 and

(b) A &iftin! machine a &iftin! vehic&e a machine ,hose motive po,er is ,ho&&y orpart&y !enerated by the human body and a tractor"

(a) In re&ation to a person means no e9posed to any ha3ards: and(b) In every other case means free from ha3ards and unsafe and safe have

correspondin! means"

The contractor sha&& nominate and constant&y -eep upon the ,or- site a

competent supervisor ,ho sha&& be capab&e of receivin! verba& and ,ritteninstructions and any instructions !iven to him by #D$#%*s safety

representative sha&& be deemed to have been issued to the contractor"

6 C$#tra/t$r' r'$##* a#+ a2 *"-"t

(a) The contractor sha&& emp&oy competent personne& or a!ents ,ho are orhave been ade7uate&y trained to perform their 1ob safe&y and ,ithout

posin! ris- to them and others"

(b) The contractor sha&& emp&oy personne& or a!ents ,ho are in the a!e!roup of bet,een seventeen and si9ty years on&y"

7 I+#t"!"/at"$# a#+ att"r $! /$#tra/t$r' r'$##*

(a) The contractor*s personne& sha&& re!ister themse&ves at #D$#%*ssecurity before commencin! ,or- and sha&& ,ear identification bad!es

at a&& times ,hen on site"

(b) The contractors* personne& sha&& ,ear proper attire inc&udin! shoes and#D$#%reserves the ri!ht to deny entry to any person ,ho in its

opinion is not proper&y attired"

The contractor*s personne& and vehic&es sha&& be &iab&e to physica& security

chec-s ,hen they are inside and upon &eavin! #D$#%*s premises"

(a) The contractor sha&& be &iab&e for and sha&& indemnity #D$#% a!ainstany e9penses &iabi&ity &oss c&aim or proceedin!s ,hatsoever arisin!

under any statute in respect of persona& in1ury to or the death of any

person ,homsoever arisin! out of or in the course of or caused by thecarryin! out of the ,or- un&ess due to any act or ne!&ect of #D$#% orof any person for ,hom #D$#% is responsib&e"

(b) The contractor sha&& report immediate&y to #D$#% any potentia&ha3ardous situationsdama!ed to #D$#%*s property productscontamination and unsafe acts that happen at the ,or- site and sha&&

cooperate fu&&y ,ith #D$#% in its investi!ations of such incidents"

(a) #D$#% reserves the ri!ht to inspect the ,or- site at any sta!e and in

the event of fai&ure to comp&y ,ith #D$#%*s environment hea&th andsafety re!u&ations on the part contractor #D$#% reserves the ri!ht to

issue a notice directin! that ,or- be stopped unti& any such fai&ure is

rectified"

(d) The contractor sha&& provide suitab&e noise suppression devices for

pneumatic hammers pneumatic dri&&s air compressor or anycompressed air operated e7uipment used on the ,or- site"

percussion cartrid!e too&s

(b) The contractor sha&& ensure that a&& percussion cartrid!e too&s andcartrid!es are stored separate&y under &oc- ,hen not in use"
