Mike Doroshewitz is recog-nizing “Buggsy Sierra” for going above and beyond to help his coworkers. He has 43 years of service at GM Defi-ance. Buggsy wanted to come up with a way of communicat-ing between the front side and back side of both Mod 3 and 4 Melting in Precision Sand.
It was difficult to relay information back and forth between Panel and back side operator. Buggsy took it upon himself to have base radios installed on the back side of each Mod 3 and Mod 4. This makes communication between operators much easier and smoother. Thank you Buggsy for a job well done!

Some of the world’s biggest auto markets may be reaching the end of the road for growth.After almost every major carmaker posted declining U.S. deliveries in July, most missed analysts’ estimates for August, and the annualized industry sales rate decelerated to the slowest in a year. The fear is that demand has peaked and will con-tinue to dwindle in the absence of higher sales incentives. Sales in other countries have fallen as well, including in China, where increased tariffs and an escalating trade spat with the U.S. may be dragging on demand.
China – Demand in the world’s biggest auto market has fallen months amid a worsening trade war with the U.S. causing some consumers to hold back from buying American-branded vehicles. Japan – Passenger-car sales in Asia’s second largest economy are down 3.4 percent.Europe – The region’s four largest auto markets -- Germany, the U.K., France and Italy -- recorded zero growth in the first six months of this year. Yellow Copy of SuggestionThe local Suggestion Administrator is required by the UAW-GM Suggestion Plan Rules to retain the yellow investigation copy of a paper suggestion in the adopt/non-adopt file.
If you input decisions, and/or award information online, it is still required to turn in the yellow copy to the Suggestion department.
Pick up your T-shirt and travel mug if you sub-mitted a suggestion in 2017 or 2018. All employ-ees on team suggestions are eligible for gifts.

• A Short Story: The other day I walked through the turnstiles behind two “young” gentlemen. These two “young” gentlemen have a combined 100+ years of GM experience which is incredible considering most people change jobs every 5 years now. What’s more interesting to me was this: They are both Fitness Center members and utilize the facility in their own ways. I know everyone’s time here is tight, and that’s why the Fitness Center is open 24hrs so you can use it before or after work. Which is what these two young gentlemen do. If you can’t make that time commitment because of household responsibilities, then I want to encourage you to go for a walk, do 25 push-ups, or 25 body squats. The idea here is: I want you to keep moving like the “young” gentlemen do so you can enjoy life outside of the plant. -Tyler
