Warner Classics releases five new BBC Proms CDs, recorded live at the 2004 BBC Proms season. Featuring artists including Leonard Slatkin,Jirˇí Be ˇ lohlávek, Sir Thomas Allen, Michael Collins,John Tomlinson and Jeanne- Michèle Charbonnet, these recordings capture the range, richness and vitality of the BBC Proms. The recordings incorporate themes from the 2004 BBC Proms: East/West is celebrated with music from John Corigliano, Zhou Long and Kaija Saariaho, and Back To Bohemia with recordings from Janác ˇek and Martinu ˚, including performances from the Prague Philharmonia and the Czech Philharmonic Chorus. Also featured are classic symphonies, opera and, of course, the Last Night of the Proms. Each CD has a fully annotated booklet.
