• All the Services of Muons as well as HO on +Z side.

• Three options shown.

• In all the options – Signal Cables from Sector 6 and Sector 4 go

through the megatile covers and exit on sector 2.

– Signal Cables from Sector 8 and Sector 10 go through the megatile covers and exit on sector 12.

Option1• Signal Cables go under MAB between sector 1 and sector 12 for

lower half and under MAB between sector 2 and sector 3 for upper half.

• Cross section required for signal cables under each MAB

= 27mm x 27mm.• HV cables go along the Copper tubes along radial support for each

sector having RBX.• HV cable cross section = 12 dia.• 2 LV cables and Slow control cable routed on the face of sector

having RBX.• 2 LV + 1 Slow control c/s = 20 dia. + 2 mm tolerance => 22 mm.• No extra length looped and kept on frame considered. LV +slow

control to have disconnect box.

Option1 (remarks)• Signal Cables :

– Space under MAB only 21 mm under present scenario.

– Also signal cables have to pass over Yoke cooling pipe under the MAB.

– May be possible if we spread out the signal cables.

• HV Cables:– As these run along copper tubes, there are some tight points.

– HV cables require minimum of 150 mm bending radius. Routing along copper tubes is having a lot of Zig-Zag. Achieving the min. bend radius may be difficult.

– Is routing of HV line along with Copper tubing advisable?

• LV Cables :– Extra cost for disconnect box.

Option2• Signal Cables go on the face of sector 12 for lower half and on

sector 2 for upper half (same as YB+2). Extra length of ~2 M looped and kept on structure outside Yoke iron.

• Cross section required for signal cables

= 27mm x 27mm.• 2 LV cables and Slow control cable routed on the face of sector

having RBX.• 2 LV + 1 Slow control c/s = 20 dia. + 2 mm tolerance => 22 mm.• 2M extra length looped and kept on Structure along with Signal

Cables. No disconnect box.• Total c/s on face of Sectors 2 and 12 = 49 mm wide x 27 mm high.• HV cables go along the Copper tubes along radial support for each

sector having RBX.• HV cable cross section = 12 dia.

Option2 (remarks)• Signal Cables and LV+Slow Control Cables :

– No effect of MAB location for routing from sector to patch panel.

– Fixing of signal cables less complicated as the go on existing cable trays fixed for muon services. (No extra drilling of holes on Yoke Iron).

– No extra cost for disconnect box.

– Due to extra length HO System and Muon System will be disconnected for maintenance.

Option3• Signal Cables go on the face of sector 12 for lower half and on

sector 2 for upper half (same as YB+2). Extra length of ~2 M looped and kept on structure outside Yoke iron.

• Cross section required for signal cables = 27mm x 27mm.• 2 LV cables and Slow control cable routed on the face of sector

having RBX.• 2 LV + 1 Slow control c/s = 20 dia. + 2 mm tolerance => 22 mm.• HV cables also routed on the face of sector having RBX along with

LV Cables and Signal Cables.• HV cable cross section = 12 dia.• 2M extra length looped and kept on Structure along with Signal

Cables. No disconnect box.• Total c/s on face of Sectors 2 and 12 = 61 mm wide x 27 mm high.• Total c/s on face of Sectors 4, 6, 8 and 10 = 35 mm wide x 22 mm

high.

Option3 (remarks)• Signal Cables, HV and LV+Slow control Cables :

– No effect of MAB location for routing from sector to patch panel.

– Fixing of signal cables less complicated as the go on existing cable trays fixed for muon services. (No extra drilling of holes on Yoke Iron).

– No extra cost for disconnect box.

– Fixing of HV cables also becomes very simple.

– Due to extra length HO System and Muon System will be disconnected for maintenance.
