Cyber SafeAges 8 - 11 yearsIt is estimated that two out of three households have a computer and access to the internet. While this means access to many valuable resources, it also means that there are risks involved. Think about this: 26% of kids ages 9 to 15 went to meet a friend that they met online without the permission of their parents. What that tells us is that kids either don’t know the rules, or don’t understand the seriousness of the threat. Cyber Safe covers the topic of internet safety through interactive, non-threatening and entertaining lessons. Course includes Cyber Safe student book.Location: Kerry Park

Lise’s Slow Flow Power Yoga is excellent for developing physical and mental discipline in a safe, non-competitive environment. Like all exercise, it also encourages our bodies to release endorphins, thus moderating stress and feelings of frustration. Yesca’s goal is to inspire and cultivate “elegant power” in the dancer, and to reassure her that her body will learn the moves, given time, practice, patience and a sense of fun. Come experience the joys of Belly Dancing and improve your life at the same time! Wear comfortable clothes. Instructor: Jessica North O’ConnellLocation: Kerry Park Recreation

Parenting ClassNotwithstanding our conscious hopes and desires for our children, our unconscious programming; those things brought forward from our own childhoods that have not been effectively resolved and that we experience in our current lives as fears, blocks to happiness or as painful, will inevitably have an impact on our parenting and on our children. In an atmosphere of acceptance and curiosity, with no judgment or blame, we examine and heal those places deep inside where the parent still feels like a hurt and frightened child. The parent, healed, is then free to create a relationship with his or her children in a new, loving and supportive way rather than creating yet another generation of hurt and frightened children.
