How can an organization/agency/company induce employees to do what it wants?

One of the biggest challenges for any organization is to motivate its employees to work towards the organizations goal. However, motivating employees can be a very tricky thing and is the most complex process in management or even in any field.

Motivation is a complicated process because each individual in an organization has different aims and drives. There are a lot of theories about motivation that managers can use to motivate the employees to do what they want.

Employees can be motivated towards a certain goal by giving them incentives in terms of commission, praise, or recognition. Another form of motivation is by placing people in work that they want to do. The idea of fun in the work place is motivating enough for most employees. Challenging employees can also be one way of motivating them to do what you want.

Motivation is not the only strategy that organizations use to make their employees do what they want. Companies can make use of manipulation and coercion. Manipulating employees can be in a subtle or obvious way. To be a great HR Manager one most learn to manipulate people in a way that is not obvious. I would like to think that manipulation is somewhat synonymous to influencing the employee.

One other great process that an HR Manager can use in influencing employees to do what he/she wants is to establish stakeholders or supporters. Once you have supporters these employees can identify more with the employees who are resistant and can influence them.
