Preparing this newsletter has been arush job at the last minute, due to thefact that the Gilroys have both beensick with the flu for the past month.Heather was lucky not to have had the

very bad dose that I got, in which Ialmost lost my voice!Just after our last club meeting I camedown with it and had it for a couple ofweeks, them it seemed to go away for a

day or two, then it was on again worsethan before. We had hoped to go on asearch with Kathryn McCloghry but hadto put a raincheck on that until Irecovered. As I write the flu seems tobe going away so that I should be onmy feet by the time you read thisnewsletter!

Latest Gilroy Book Report. As just about everyone knows, Heatherand Rex Gilroy have been working upona massive book on Cryptozoology forthe past five years, containingthousands of reports and hundreds ofphotos and artwork. The manuscriptwas completed long ago and then puton disk. The cover art is ready, thanksto Andrew Leese, and all that is needed

to complete the process is thecompletion of the scanning of theremaining photos and their captions, then its off to the printers. We are publishing this massive book to

    celebrate one Rex Gilroys 50th

Anniversary as the founding father ofAustralian Cryptozoology and Yowie [ieRelict Hominology research. Two newbooks on the Yowie [already completed]will follow in due course as part of thecelebrations.

Our massive Cryptozoology bookcontains thousands of reports asalready stated, and these cover a widerange of sea, land and air creaturesthroughout the whole Australasianregion. This will not only be the largestbook so far published on Cryptozoologyanywhere in the world to ourknowledge, and it is certainly the

largest on the subject ever written inAustralia.

Readers will be kept informed ofthe release date. The massive taskwhich we undertook to bring thisproject to fruition, which involved fiveyears work, with additional fieldwork, aided by Greg Foster and others can beseen in the results, none of which wouldhave been possible without the help ofHeather, who put the manuscript on the

computer from my typed pages. This book holds a great many

surprises and we anticipateinternational success for it.In September this year Rex Gilroy also

celebrates 50 years as an UFOlogist, and as part of these celebrations weare publishing a new UFO book full offantastic surprises. This book should bereleased by the end of the year or earlyin 2007. I shall be delivering a slidepresentation based on some of thecontents of this book at the forthcoming

Queensland UFO Conference [Saturday30th September Sunday 1st October Iwill speak on the Saturday].

Meanwhile Pyramids of Destiny Lost Colonies of the Bronze-Age God-Kings is presently having the hundredsof photos added. We anticipate itspublication in early 2007.

This book is the sequel toPyramids in the Pacific The UnwrittenHistory of Australia and concerns the

hundreds of colonies established bymining expeditions from the Middle andNear-Eastern civilisations. This book isexpected to be a big seller due to itscontents; ie photos of pyramids inAustralia and New Zealand, countlessEgyptian and Phoenician rockinscriptions [among others], and otherrelicts left here by colonists 3,000-5,000 years before the arrival of theover-rated Dutch explorers and CaptainJames Cook RN!

We could go on, but will just saythat URU Publications will be very busyover coming months!

    Vikings at Riverstone.By Rex Gilroy

    Copyright Rex Gilroy2006.

In our April 2006 issue we revealedthat a large rock slab discovered by me atRiverstone bore 12th century Viking script. At the time photos were unavailable and Ihad to do a sketch. Finally the photos taken

that day are now available, and as thearticle in the April issue showed, theinscription [translated in that issue]revealed an expedition of ships havingarrived in Brisbane Waters and sailed upthe Hawkesbury River, to venture up acreek in search of a good farming locationfor settlement purposes. Basically, theshorthand Scandinavian inscriptionstated:

Landing here in our six longshipsled by the ship Thors Hammer sailed byour leader Iala, we established thissettlement dedicated to Odin. Ayas crewerected a stone telling of their ship. TheSerpent, and their voyage from the north, where Uiis ship Odin protected by ourgod Odin himself, fought and left the bonesof the Skraelings* they killed. We are all

    [men and women] from Birka.[*Aborigines].

It is very likely that furthersearching thereabouts will turn up moreevidence of ancient Scandinavianlandfalls and attempted colonisation longcenturies before the time of CaptainCook!

Monstrous Fossil Hominid FootprintsDiscovered in Wollemi Scrub.

By Rex Gilroy.Copyright Rex Gilroy 2006.On Sunday 21st May 2006, the

Gilroys and Greg Foster made a visit into

the Wollemi wilderness hoping to find morepanther tracks. We had no luck in thatregard, but on the way there, whilestopping to have a look at nearby cliffs, where Greg had previously found Uruscript, I explored off on my own to uncovertwo massive footprints of some gargantuanbeing upon a clifftop.

The tracks lay one behind the othergoing west, separated 68cm apart. Thewesternmost [right] foot impressionmeasured 1.3m length by 64cm widthacross the toes, 52cm across the mid footand 56cm across the heel. This track wasslightly smaller than the left [rear] one, which was 1.4m length by 76cm widthacross the toes, 70cm width at mid footand 52cm across the heel. The tracks wereembedded about 4cm deep in the solidrock [ironstone]. The monster hominid wholeft these gigantic tracks through timehad to have stood up to 50ft [15m] tall!

    Such monstrous beings are well

known to Aboriginal tradition, and asalready reported by me in the past, numbers of such tracks are coming to lightacross Australia, although the largestconcentration so far discovered appears tobe on the Blue Mountains.

The tracks had been covered by avolcanic ash fall. But how old are thesetitan tootsies? This is the problem, forthey cannot be less than several millionyears old, even older!

Such finds do not surprise Templeof Nim research team members, forAustralia is not only the oldest continent onEarth, but also it possesses a history of

hominid evolution so startling as to makeall present text books on the subjectredundant, were it ever to be accepted bythe conservative university establishment!

The Second Giant Endocast Skull-type from the Wadbilliga Range.

By Rex Gilroy.Copyright Rex Gilroy 2006.Readers will recall the big discovery,on Wednesday 20th January 2004, deep inthe Wadbilliga Mountains inland fromMoruya, on the New South Wales far southcoast, of the huge endocast of a gianthominid [ie giant Homo erectus form] skull,by Antji Westrip and myself, from depositsdating at least 350,000 years BP [BeforePresent].

At the time this was the first skullevidence of a giant hominid [apart from the

large fragment of cranium from CoolahNSW found by the author] in the world.

Then, upon our return to thelocation, on Monday 30th August 2004, afew hundred feet along the same dry creek

bed from the bankside site of the first giantendocast, I stumbled upon another giantendocast, whose incomplete featuresdiffered markedly from those of the first. For, whereas the first specimen was thefrontal portion of a [missing] long, narrowbraincase [ie doliocephalic] skull-typewhose remaining cranial section measured33cm in length by the same in width across

the facial section and 16cm in depth; thesecond skull endocast, also lacking the rearbraincase area, measured 28cm in lengthfrom nasal area to rear of endocast, by33cm width across the facial section by27cm in depth. The first giant endocast, which includes a crushed lower jaw area, displays a flattish cranium leading backfrom where the faint remains of which, projecting brow ridges would have been.

The second endocast had it been intactwith a lower jaw, would have been of a

probable larger hominid than the firstspecimen, for it possesses eye sockets11cm in length by 11cm in height, being13cm apart, between which extendsdownward the filled in area of a massivenasal passage. The forehead recedes backhigh above the sockets and the skull wouldhave been brachiocephalic [ie rounded].Both monster hominids had to have beenover 3.66cm in height at least and ofpowerful muscular build.

This second specimen is of amodern ie late form of giant Homoerectus, whereas the other specimen isthat of an archaic giant erectus form. However, the second skull came from380,000 year old deposits, which tend tomake this more modern-looking form olderthan the archaic example. The answer tothis puzzle is of course that either materialfor the archaic form still awaits us,hopefully somewhere nearby at this site, situated deep within the Wadbilliga

mountain range; home, according to oldAboriginal traditions, of the WadbilligaGiant. We have since uncovered basaltmegatools in the region much the sameas the famous 1969 Bathurst districtexamples.

Both giant endocasts feature in theforthcoming Cryptozoology and Yowiebooks of the Gilroys. They are yet furtherreminders that this continent possesses anunknown, hidden past of Old Stone-Agehominid evolution yet to be recognised bya scientific establishment fixated on theOut of Africa explanation for humanorigins, when it is becoming quite clear thatmodern humans evolved from Homoerectus first in Australia and not Africa!

    UFO Abductions andDisappearances.

By Rex Gilroy.Copyright Rex Gilroy 2006.As everyone in Blue Mountains UFO

Research Club knows, the Blue Mountainshas a long history of UFO activity. Here arefurther local UFO happenings to consider

During 1955 UFO sightings werereported over a wide area of the BlueMountains. In April that year a light aircraftflying from outside Cowra, was observed bypeople about 11am in the Oberon area, andby almost 11.30am it was seen flying overBlackheath towards the Grose Valley. Hereit was seen by a large number of people toenter a large cloud, whereupon it did notreappear. Instead a large grey-colouredsaucer-type craft emerged from the cloudand zoomed off northwards. RAAF officialsat Richmond Air Base offered noexplanation when approached by phonecallers.

In September 1969 during June, at10am in the morning, a farmer outside

Tarlo, which lies north of Goulburn, waslaughed at by locals, when he claimed thata large metallic-shining flying saucerhovered over his back property andsucked up two cows before zooming awayover the hills northwards. What may havebeen the same craft was reported seenflying over Katoomba by many peopleabout thirty minutes later.

    Outside Porters Retreat, about 40km

south of Oberon, in 1975, property ownersreported having seen a large, spherical-shaped object, silver-glowing, on a numberof occasions. It was said to hover overproperties and houses for up to half andhour at a time. One local, a Mr Clarkson, claimed he had to pull up his car on a roadin the area one night, when a big glowingball materialised on the road ahead ofhim.

I turned the car around and drove

back the way I had come, he said later. However, in another incident, a manhiking along a dirt road at Shooters Hillsouth of Oberon, was claimed seen by ahousewife from her kitchen window oneafternoon in the winter of 1960, to just

disappear into a silver-glowing ball oflight, which immediately shot off at greatspeed over her house.

    *****The Burragorang Valley researches

of our club need no introduction, nor the 30years of so work I have put into collectingevery piece of data on the phenomenasurrounding the underground Advanced

Space Travel Technology base establishedthere. The Australian/American militarypresence there demonstrates theimportance of this vast centre [which isfeatured in our next UFO book].

So important is it that people whohave stumbled upon it, and even noseylight aircraft pilots, have just vanished intothose valley depths. In 1951 three soldiersentered the valley, intent upon locating thewreckage of a wartime fight plane, whichthey believed might have crashed in a

particular area of the valley, Theysubsequently vanished without trace. Asearch was organised but quickly called off,on the orders of high-ranking AustralianArmy personnel.

One camper, who happened topenetrate the valley was surprised to comeacross a large saucer nest in a forestclearing. Yet the most startling incidentoccurred in 1953 when a lone camper,Brian Dogherty, while camped under the

stars one night, saw a large, dark saucer-shaped craft moving over the surroundingtree tops. As he got to his feet he heard aloud crunching sound as the craft landedin a nearby patch of gum forest above thegully he was camped in. It was a long timebefore he got back to sleep, and by thetime he awoke, and went in search of thelanding site of the mystery craft, it hadlifted off and flown elsewhere. All that Brianfound was an area of trees and shrubberythat had been broken and flattened.

That same year a hiker, Peter Suttor, happened to penetrate an area beneaththe cliffs on the south side of he valley oneday, which it turned out, was in the vicinityof two saucer nests discovered earlier bycampers. From the protection of shrubbery,he saw at a distance, several man-sizedforms clothed in what he later describedas spacesuits. The mysterious beingsappeared to be searching the ground withstrange metal devices, apparentlycollecting soil and rock samples.

It was not long before Peter told ofhis strange encounter to friends, includinga UFO group at Fairfield. In turn, theincident was related to a member of thegroup to a friend in Liverpool Army Camp.

This soldier, and two others from Ingleburn, while on leave, decided that they would goon a camping trip to investigate the area ofPeter Suttors strange sighting.

Setting off from WarragambaTownship, they attempted to follow theapproximate route taken by Peter. It isbelieved that they penetrated severalkilometres inland to the approximate area

where the strange figures had been seen. However, it was beyond a certain

point that all trace of them was lost.Despite searchers efforts, like the earlierthree servicemen two years before, alltrace of these soldiers was lost.Furthermore, all further mention of theirdisappearance was soon lost in the officialwall of silence that descended on the wholematter.

In 1952, Mrs H McLean of Oatley, south of Sydney, was sitting in her

backyard one afternoon at 2.30pm whenshe saw a spinning disc-shaped objectflying at terrific speed across the sky fromeast to west. Within minutes, residentsover a wide area of the Blue Mountainswere reporting sightings to police and radiostations of what must have been the sameobject.

Another less-publicised event, andone which must have been witnessed bymany other residents of the area, occurred

near Katoomba in 1955, when a brightgreen object, emitting an orange-colouredflame, passed over the district from west toeast at a height of about 10,000 feet, making a roaring sound very much like thatof a diesel locomotive. Though it was toohigh for any detailed description, Carl Knoxand his brother Leonard saw the object asit soared over their Katoomba home. Thefollowing day they were among thehundreds of people who heard over Sydneyradio that a mysterious object had crashed

into the sea off Sydney Harbour. The 1960s saw a great many

reports, both day and night, of UFOs seenhovering, or even descending into theBurragorang Valley. It reminds this authorof his first UFO sighting, which occurred on15th February 1959, when one bright cloudyday [when there was to be an eclipse of theSun], at a point overlooking JamiesonValley on Cliff Drive above Leura Cascades,I spotted a stationary silver object hoveringamong passing clouds on that windy day.

The object, a reversed cone-shape, beganto move off slowly to the north-west overKatoomba. What appeared to have beenthe same object was reported seen byRadio station 2KA listeners later that same

day, as it hovered over Medlow Bath, a fewkilometres west of Katoomba.
