One of our members sent me a recent article aboutinnovations in the growth of churches, leadershipdevelopment, and generosity begetting generosity.The author, Alex Murashko, a reporter for the ChristianPost, described that the multisite (one church, multiple locations)movement continues to gain momentum. This concept redeemsexisting facilities but also allows churches to grow. There is also anincreasing emphasis on leadership development to grow the ministriesof churches; and the congregants are responding with amazing

generosity of both time and money. In a webcast conference aboutchurch leadership, Pastor JoeHismeh from Topeka, Kansas said, Thegenerosity of his congregation has completely funded their ministries,increased their outreach by over 70 percent, and paid off all of thechurchs debt. How does this information relate to Chaparral? Well,we have amazing teams of volunteers who are supporting ourmultitude of ministries with hours of diligent work and generouscontributions. We are planning leadership seminars for the summerand fall months to help our volunteers and staff strengthen theirleadership skills. And the generosity of our congregation truly begets

generous people; thus, we see our ministries of helping people in thename of Jesus flourish. Thank you." Larry Gettman

Summer MusicMinistry Offerings

Chairmans Corner

Summer is a great time for our Music Ministry.We like to give you different 'musicaloccasions'!

June 8th, 1:00 p.m. will be our second HymnSing. Join us in the Choir Room for pie and singing of your favorite hymns,old and new. Bud Downs will lead this joy-filled hour. Bud, pastor of CactusChristian Fellowship, brings his beautiful, rich tenor voice, plus manymembers of his congregation. It will be a great time of music and fellowship.

Throughout the summer, our Music Ministry will be sponsoring SummerSounds Concerts. These concerts, usually on Sunday afternoon, will featureour own vocal or instrumental talents. Watch our calendar for specific dates!

Communion/Lords Supper

All followers of Christ are welcome to participate in our Service of

Communion. If you have prepared yourself for this very special moment with

our Savior, you are invited to his table. (1 Corinthians 11:23-30) Please take

the emblems as they are passed and partake when you are ready. Some

prefer to take it while it is in front of them before passing it along.

Offering

In all of our services, a special time for giving is set aside. Participation is an

act of worship and voluntary.

Nursery

We have a friendly, well-staffed and impeccably clean nursery located on

the north side of the narthex. Please see an usher for directions.
