with no workers visible.Elias Bhengu, Ilembe
manager o f wa te r services was asked why work stopped and he said that “work has slowed down.”
He said that the reason for the slowdown was a result of the contractors being ahead of schedule because they have already done 70 percent of work thus far.
Bhengu went on to say that because of their c o n t r a c t w i t h t h e company and payment being due in the next financial year which begins in July, Ilembe has to follow protocol. H e s a y s t h a t t h e slowdown time is being used by the workers “to tidy up.”
Councillor Madhun Sobram Sing says that the reason worked has stopped is because of Ilembe Municipality's “ n o n - p a y m e n t ” t o contractors amounting to millions.
“It is unfortunate that the almost R30 million water project have come to a standstill due to non payment by Ilembe Municipality to the

Rate payers given raw deal… yet again
TRENCH TOWN: In the heart of Manor ratepayers are accustomed to trenches like these with heaps of sand alongside laying there for two weeks
contractors to the tune of almost R 9 million. This is a conditional grant f r o m N a t i o n a l / P r o v i n c i a l Government and the amount should be ring fenced for the purpose intended for,” said Sing.
Sing, who is the Stanger Manor ward councillor, says that although the project has progressed smoothly with some hiccups, the delay will add to the “prolonged agony” of the community, most of whom are ratepayers, with motorists and residents affected by the construction.
Sing also said that since two weeks work has stopped with initially about sixty people
working, they are now sitting at home.
“The conduct of Ilembe is appalling and they need to sort the mess out like yesterday. It would be scary if funds meant for this project have been diverted to other projects w h i c h c o n s t i t u t e smisappropriation. I hope this is not the case otherwise a full scale investigation must be conducted,” he said.
The Manor councillor said that he has written to the Acting Municipal Manager of Ilembe to intervene. He mentioned that if cut up roads are not filled, motorists can sue for damages.

Smelling goodA security officer's intuition
proved true. Shokokombie Mhlungu followed a customer as she passed the till point with goods she paid for. However, a strong smell of deodorants attracted her attention to the woman. On searching her bag she found a variety of deodorants valued at R284.94 inside her bag which she had not paid for. Khombisile Ngema (19) of Ntshawini was granted bail and is due back in court on 19 May.

“Master Maths” shows tremendous improvement in MathsMaster Maths Stanger has been in operation since October 2014 and learner enrolment has beensteadily increasing since inception. Parents are beginning to see the value in a quality tuitionmodel offered by Master Maths. As part of its continuous improvement plan, each learner's progress is tracked since enrolment at Master Maths Stanger.Often the final report mark is NOT a true reflection of the learner's performance. ln most cases, the marks are inflated to satisfy the Department of Education's overall pass criteria. Baselineassessments done at Master Maths are carried out before a learner actually enrols at the centre. These scores together with the learner's latest term mark in Mathematics are compared so that astatistical judgement can be made on the learner's progress. The table below shows an analysis of the performance by Master Maths Stanger learners:

Range of improvement by learners in term one
77% of learners have shown a remarkable improvement in their marks. Majority of the learners have improved their results by between 11 and 30%. lt is also worth mentioning that one of our grade 10 learners has improved his mark by 44% while one of our grade 11 learners has improved by 59%. These learners have enrolled at Master Maths at the beginning ofTerm one and have reaped the benefits of continuous tutoring offered by Master Maths. Mostlearners who have shown under 5% improvement are those that have enrolled late in term one but with continuous attendance and monitoring at Master Maths, these learners are guaranteed toimprove their term 2 results. One can clearly see from this analysis that enrolment at Master Maths is the one and only solution for success in mathematics. The combination of a motivated learner, individual tutoring together with advanced, interactive learning software seems to be an excellent formula that will deliver success and nothing less to a learner's mathematics education.

Happy Mother's Day on
Saturday, 8 May 2015
When I get old,
I hope you understand and
have patience with me
In case I break a plate,
Or spill soup on the table
because I’m losing
my eyesight, I hope you
don’t yell at me
Older people are sensitive.
Always having self pity
when you yell
when my hearing gets
worse
and I can’t hear what
you’re saying,
I hope you don’t call me
“Deaf!”
Please repeat what you
said or write it down
I’m sorry my child.
I’m getting older
When my knees get weaker,
I hope you have the
patience to help me get up
Like how I used to help you
while you were little,
Learning to walk
Please bear with me
When I keep repeating
myself
like a broken record,
I hope you just keep
listening to me
Please don’t make fun of
me,
or get sick listening to me.
Do you remember when
you were little and you
wanted a balloon!? You
repeated yourself over and
over until you got what you
wanted
Please also pardon my
smell
I smell like an old person
Please don’t force to
shower
My body is weak
Old people get sick easily
when they’re cold.
I hope I don’t gross you out.
Do you remember when
you were little?
I used to chase you around
because you didn’t want to
shower I hope you can be
patient with me
When I’m always cranky
It’s all part of getting old
You’ll understand when
you’re older
And if you have spare time,
I hope we can talk
Even for a few minutes
I’m always all by my self all
the time
And have no one to talk to
I know you’re busy with
work
Even if you’re not
interested in my stories,
Please have time for me,
Do you remember when
you were little?
I used to listen to your
stories about your teddy
bear.
When the time comes
And I get ill and bedridden,
I hope you have the
patience to take care of me
I’m sorry
If I accidentally wet the bed
or make a mess
I hope you have the
patience to take care of me
during the last few
moment of my life
I’m not going to last longer,
anyway
When the time of my death
comes,
I hope you hold my hand
And give me the strength
to face death
And don’t worry…
When I finally meet our
Creator…
I will whisper in His ear
To BLESS you
Because you loved
Your Mom and Dad
Thank you so much for your
care
We love you.
With much love.
Mum & Dad
Happy Mother's Day

NOTICE - LIMITED SUPPLY
Call centre number: 032- 437 9379 • E-mail: [email protected] • www.ilembe.gov.za
A planned shutdown of the 3 Megalitres Mvoti Balancing Reservoir is scheduled for 06 May 2015 to commence at 07h00 and to be completed at 16h00.
This is to allow the contractor Esor Construction to core through the reservoir to install the new inlet pipework from the Lower Tugela Bulk Supply Scheme.
During the shutdown the 3 Ml balancing reservoir will be isolated and the supply from the Mvoti Waterworks will be directed to the rectangular reservoir. The supply to the consumers is not envisaged to be interrupted as the supply would be maintained through the rectangular balancing reservoir.
The KwaDukuza Central Business District and surrounding areas may be affected but to minimize water interruptions we are urging consumers to save water during this period. Surrounding areas include Warrenton, Lindelani, Shakaville, Stanger Heights, High Ridge, Indian Village, Stanger Manor, Doctorskop, Townview and Glenhills and Stanger Manor.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Community honours Thabsile... Student of the year - Boston Collegehank you for the invite, thank you for Tthis opportunity. It is
g r e a t s h a r i n g t h i s momentous occasion. To Ricky Moodley, you have produced a graduate with excellence with a Diploma in Business Management and Computers through your c o n t i n u o u s f i n a n c i a l support.
To T h a b s i l e N y a b a (Thabie), the moment has arrived to realise your full potential. Armed with the necessa ry sk i l l s and qualification you are now confronted by the real world with opportunities and challenges. Opportunity is the vehicle with which people are empowered to live their lives, pursue their dreams and develop their full potential.
While we are hopeful you will be absorbed in the economic sectors of our economy venturing into small business and climb the economic ladder is also an option. The private and public sector need to open their doors. My advice will be to get started somewhere regardless of the monetary value, gain experience, enhance your skills on job training rest will follow. All this will provide you with life skills which will in turn provide you with con f idence and the necessary communication skills to deal with challenges when they arise.
Let me use myself as an example. I also furthered my studies through Damelin and former ML Sultan Technical College in Durban. Thereafter I acquired a suitable job as a manager of a factory without experience. I was lucky. The turning point in my life was when I was completing my National Diploma in Personnel Management through Damelin, when a German lecturer told the
class equipped with the right skills we must not fear to venture out on our own and make a success. Those words struck me. I, within a year, resigned after working for 9 years in my life and got straight into business. Despite periods of trials and tribulation, its 26 years I am running a successful business in the CBD of Stanger.
Lessons learnt from my experience: Get rid of fear and make unpopular decisions. Chase your dreams, rise and shine. Remember, every failure is a stepping stone to success. Never give up, believe in yourself.
As you develop in life, don't forget society that has moulded you. Society is man and man is society. Give back to society. Remember that it is in giving that we receive. It is in making others happy that we receive happiness. These are the cornerstone of everyone on which strong family value system is based for a joyous existence.
To Thabsile, your achievement thus far is a milestone. You are the future of this country. You are an asset to our country. You are our future leader. Be positive in
life. Live in the moment. Cherish and enjoy life with responsibilities. Grab opportunities that come your way. I see a bright future in you. Go that extra mile in whatever you do. It pays off in the end.
In conclusion I want to wish Thabsile (Thabie) success in al l your endeavours, happy and healthy living. Remember the treasure of life lies in hard work.
Let me quote an old adage by Swami Vivekananda who once said "We want that education by which character is formed, strength of mind is increased, the intellect is expanded and by which one can stand on one's own feet."
Ricky Moodley pillar of strength for Thabies success
Cllr Sing praised Ricky Moodley for his financial contribution to Thabsile's education for many years from Hulsug Primary School, Darnall Secondary School and ultimately to Boston College. You have not only produced Thabie as an achiever in the community but you are setting an example to other business leaders to give back to the community. You have taken the lead, others must follow. Ricky also donated land to KwaDukuza Municipal i ty for the construction of a community hall and
Clinic. Ricky is a real community leader, and serves the community with passion.
Ricky Moodley also made land available for a housing project in the area for the poor and needy.

Observing World Lupus DayBy Xpress Reporter
World Lupus Day, which is observed on 10 May 2015, focuses on the need for increased p u b l i c a w a r e n e s s a n d u n d e r s t a n d i n g o f l u p u s , increased research into the causes and to look for a cure for lupus, and improved diagnosis times and treatment within the medical profession.
L u p u s i s a c h r o n i c , autoimmune disease that can damage any part of the body (skin, joints, and/or organs inside the body). Chronic means that the signs and symptoms tend to last longer than six weeks and often for many years. In lupus, something goes wrong with your
immune system, which is the part of the body that fights off viruses, bacteria, and germs ("foreign invaders," like the flu).
Normally our immune system produces p ro te ins ca l l ed antibodies that protect the body f r o m t h e s e i n v a d e r s . Auto immune means your immune system cannot tell the difference between these foreign invaders and your body's healthy tissues ("auto" means "self") and creates these autoantibodies that attack and destroy healthy tissue. These autoantibodies cause inflammation, pain, and damage in various parts of the body.
Every day, more than 5 million people worldwide struggle with
the often debilitating health consequences of lupus, a potentially fatal autoimmune disease capable of damaging virtually any part of the body, including the skin, heart, lungs, kidneys, and brain.
World Lupus Day began with a Proclamation 11 years ago by an international steering committee representing lupus organizations from 13 different nations when they met in Eaton, United Kingdom to organize the first observance of World Lupus Day. The Proclamation is a call to action for governments around the world to increase their financial support for lupus research, awareness and patient services.
organized while celebrating the International Nurses Day annually to address nursing issues.
Nursing is the largest health care profession in the world. They are well trained and educated for maintaining the health and wellness of patients through all aspects. Each year, the International Council of Nurses (ICN) prepares and distributes the International Nurses' Day
Kit . The ki t containseducational and public information materials, for use by nurses everywhere.
The ICN celebrates this event aiming to increase the public awareness about the n u r s i n g a n d n u r s e scontribution towards the health care innovation. The theme for 2015 is “Nurses: A Force for Change: Care Effective, Cost Effective”.

Things in my life went from good to
worse in a very short time. My love
life, financial problems jealousy, my husbands family
were all against me. Luckily I came across MAAMA BAHAT through a friend. She did
miracles in my life. She told me all my problems without mentioning anything to
her. She showed me the people who worked hard to see me suffering some of which
were my friends and relatives. She performed a special prayer, washed away all
my bad luck and cleansed my home, gave me a love potion with a ring for my financial
problems in less than five days, my husband was always by my side and my
enemies confessed and asked for forgiveness.

God looked around his garden and found an empty place, he looked down upon this earth and saw your
tired face, he put his arms around you and lifted you to rest. God’s garden must be beautiful. He only takes the
best. He knew that you were suffering, he knew that you were in pain. He knew that you would never get
well on earth again. He saw that the road was getting rough and the hills are hard to climb. So he closed
your weary eyelids and whispered, ‘‘Peace be thine’’. It broke our hearts to lose you, but it didn’t go alone, for part of us went with you the day God called you home

KwaDukuza welcomes world's best surfers for Ballito Pro in June
Surfing's elite performers will return to KwaDukuza for a seventh successive year when the Ballito Pro presented by Billabong, a QS10,000 rated event on the World SurfLeague (WSL) Qualifying Series (QS), runs from 29 June to 5 July.
The third of nine events that carry the highest ranking on this year's QS, the Ballito Pro offers a US $250 000 (approx. R3 million) prize-purse and an invaluable 10 000 points on the world rankings. It will feature a 96-man field of the world's best surfers from every corner of the planet, all of whom are striving to qualify for a spot on next year's WSLChampionship Tour (CT).
“As the host and Licence holder of the Ballito Pro event, we as KwaDukuza are very pleased to take the event forward together with the World Surf League and our new partners,”said the Mayor of KwaDukuza, Cllr Ricardo Mthembu. “The Ballito Pro International Surf Festival event is a key economic and tourism driver for our region, and together with the communities of KwaDukuza we look forward to expediting yet another successful event come 28th June."
Continuing the legacy of being the world's longest running professional surfing event worldwide that started 46 years ago when Port Elizabeth teenager Gavin Rudolph won the Gunston 500 back in 1969, all aspects of the Ballito Pro will be bigger and better this year with the support of global apparel and equipment giant Billabong who have come onboard as presenting sponsor for the main event and the trials.
“Billabong is really excited to be the presenting sponsor of the 2015 Ballito Pro, said Billabong SA Group MarketingManager, Chad D'Arcy. “It is such an iconic event and anintegral part of the history of competitive surfing in South Africa. We're looking forward to being part of another worldclass event on African shores.”
With more than a month to go until entries close, the entrylist already includes a dozen CT surfers headed by current world No. 9, Jordy Smith, the 2010 event winner and 2013 runner-up, who is always happy to compete in his home surf, along with another 40 highly rated competitors from 15 countries.
“Yea I'm super excited to come back home and compete,”said Jordy from his home in California. “It's my favourite time of year in KZN, so hopefully we get great waves!”
The event provides the local WSL Africa registered surfers with the priceless opportunity to earn prize-money and highly coveted rankings points in their home surf.
“It's fantastic for South African surfing, KwaDukuza,Ballito and the WSL that we are able to host the biggest WSL QS event at this superb venue for the seventh year in a row,”says WSL Africa Operations Manager, Colin Fitch. “Ballito has become a truly world class surfing destination and I look forward to seeing 96 of the world's best surfers put on an spectacular display of high performance surfing in Africaagain this year.”
While the surfers ride the waves, the Ballito Pro Festival is set to turn up the heat in KwaDukuza offering the best in beach, music and extreme sports entertainment. Locals and holiday-makers will be spoilt for choice with an action packed programme planned for the week-long festival that includes: daily doses of beach soccer and volleyball, regular stage performances by local dancers, singers and performers and an exciting retail area.
In addition to this, the extreme sports programme is guaranteed to thrill with Freestyle Motocross displays by Monster Le Riche brothers; a Monster Surf Expression Session powered by Zig Zag and a Monster Beach Surf Movie Night. Crowd favourite, the Coastal Living Bru Food & Wine Festival, returns to La Montagne for a 'flavoursome'few nights, playing host to the artisan food market, a wine and coffee showcase and the return of the popular cooking competitions.
Music lovers won't be disappointed either with 5FM taking over the music reigns, bringing some of South Africa's most talented music acts to the stage with Crush Night Club after-parties continuing the celebrations late into the night.

elected to bat first on a slow pitch. United went straight into the attack and left little room for Nkobongo's openers to manoeuvre. United claimed their first wicket in the 5th over with just 15 runs on the
scoreboard. With the 2nd wicket falling in the 6th over and no further runs added, United knew they were in the driving seat and continued to k e e p t h e p r e s s u r e o n , restricting the run rate to 3 per over. Nkobongo were 32/6 in the 10 over with the top order
batsman going cheaply. I. Khoza and Y. Banda put on a noteworthy 24 run partnership before Khoza was caught on long off in the 17th over. Banda tried some big shots but went out in similar fashion. Nkobongo ended their innings on 64/9 in their allotted 20
overs. Y. Banda top scored with 17 and I. Khoza 12. M. Muhammed claimed 2/9, H. Muhammed 2/11 and I. Mohammed 2/13.
After claiming the first wicket in the 2nd over for 9 r u n s , N k o b o n g o w e r e confident of defending the low target. However, that was short lived as M. Umar and M. Ismail took the team home in the 11th over with his score on 19 (including 3 fours) and the team score on 68/3 giving United victory by 7 wickets. I. Khoza, Y. Banda and G. far he suggested to send through a speed courier service in post office and i got it the next morning after I receive it i started using it the same day to get the money. And my young sister went there and she chose the SHORT BOYS to put money in her account, but we were very
worried to see a lot of money appear in the bank account but she also never had problems with the bank she also pay after the job was done. So if you have problems like financial, lost lover and many more contact him & he will
help you
Am Moses Mohlabi from Free State and my contact is 073 257 7877. I saw a testimony of this white man
called John. And thought he was just joking to people that Baba Dube use the short boys to put a lot of
money in the bank acceptant in 2 hours. But it was like a dream to me since I was just trying to get a help
because I also lost a lot of money to many people then I just loose hope that magic can not happen in this
world to me. I ask Baba Dube to help to put money in my house because I don't have the bank account and
we were all shocked in the morning with my wife to see R1,000,000 that I request was in my wardrobe, and I
payed him 10% from same money into his account. My wife also decided to contact Baba Dube for lucky
numbers for power ball and we were very very happy on the Saturday to see all the 6 lucky numbers were
out. We thank this white man for his testimony as well as Baba Dube. Without you our life was in dark but
know I can see some light and I can also see where I am going. Don't waist your time to others please. Magic
wallet changed my life

Warriors Sport once again added to the woes of avery disappointing start to the Randsons 2015 season when they once again defeated them in an EZE's Electrical sponsored KwaDukuza Volleyball
Association Premier League game played at the association courts last Thursday. Randsons have now lostthrice to the revamped Warriors Sportwho ousted them in the Top 8knockout as well as the Easter Tournament and now once again inthe league. This by far the most dismal start for the Randsons outfit in the league.
The trio of Nolen Govender, Mark Pillay and Sherwin Adyappa wreaked havoc against Randsons in the first set. Govender and Adyappa constetly smashed the ball pass the Randsons defence whilst 'dump specialist' Pillay caught the Randsons back court napping with some deft touches. Warriors raced to a convincing 25-15victory in the first set.
During the break, stern words from Randsons manager, Aslam Randereeseemed to do the trick as Sandhir 'Tin Boy' Jugmoham came to the party leading Randsons to a 25-11 win in the second set to level the sets at 1-1 and force the game into the third and
decisive set. The final set was a humdinger but the Shakaskraal Warriors outfit kept to their game plan to clinch the final set 15-12.
Highly ranked outfit, KSST and last year's runner up slumped to a straight sets victory over the come-back kids Manor. The first set was a highly contestedaffair but Manor held on to win the set narrowly 25-23. However, the second set saw Manor come into their own as they crushed KSST 25-15 to clinch victory.
Darnall United continued their impressive form at the start of the Division I league when they recorded their second victory on the trot hammering Manor Old Boys 25-12, 25-12 whilst Frendz had to dig deep in their reserves to come from behind to beat the rampant Cool Leaders 25-27, 25-23 and 15-9.
