The Respiratory System
Breath in oxygen and out carbon dioxide
Works by getting good air in and bad air out
All starts at the nose
With no oxygen brain would not function properly and die
Alveolus
Air sacks
Formed at the top of your lungs
Also known as the Alveoli
Lungs
Helps you breathe
Helps you breathe in carbon dioxide and exhale oxygen
Puts oxygen all throughout your body
Diaphragm
Separates the Abdominal cavity from the Chest cavity
Allows the lungs to fill with air
Larynx
Another word for voice box
Where the breathing and food separates
It is the Adam’s apple
Bronchus
The tubes inside of your lungs
Held open by cartilage
Trachea
Leads to the Pharynx and the lungs
Carries air to the mouth nose and lungs
Bronchioles
Tiniest part of the Bronchus
Carries air to the alveolus
In charge of how much air can come in and out
