Message of Reconciliation

Torah sh’Bichtav

(Written Torah)

Who hath ears to hear, let him hear

“Sola Scriptura”

(the Scriptures alone is authoritative for faith)

(in His Name)

YaHuWaH

[Yah -hoo-Wah]

is the Name of the Creator.

YaHuWSCHuA

(YaHuWSCHuA) is His Son

ALuaHiYM

[Al-u-heem - ALHYM] means "Mighty Ones“ or "Power"

Page 3: What was the first test of YaHuWaH,s people

Qadosh

means Set-apart, Pure.

Kodesh

(Qodesh) also means "Set-apart"

Ruwach (Spirit) is the Ibry (Hebrew) name for His "Presence", pictured

as the Counselor, Helper, and Advocate, the One Who "proceeds from

the Father"

Teh 27:5

For in the day of trouble He will keep me secretly in His booth. In the

covering of His Tent He will hide me. On a Rock He raises me up.

is for you too!

Scripture speaks of a secret place where we can simply go, be alone, be

protected, pray, and hear from Yahuahshua. Knowing there is such a

place is a matter of faith. Going back time and again, that's a matter of

building a relationship. You need not have an advanced degree in any

Page 4: What was the first test of YaHuWaH,s people

subject, need not have memorized Scripture from beginning to end, but

instead be aware the YaHuWaH of Y’ISCHRa’EL has a place for each

Jew and Gentile who will open their minds and hearts to Him.

Mt 6:5-8

When you pray, you shall not be as the role-fakers, for they love to

stand and pray in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that

they may be seen by men. Most certainly, I tell you, they have received

their reward. But you, when you pray, enter into your inner chamber,

and having shut your door, pray to your Father Who is in secret, and

your Father Who sees in secret shall reward you openly. In praying,

don’t use vain repetitions, as the Gentiles do; for they think that they

shall be heard for their much speaking. Therefore don’t be like them,

don't you see that your Father knows what things you need before you

ask Him.

The truth in reality is visited in this secret place AND must be shared by

those who will live or else ... they will perish ... in darkness.

It is written

Lu 11:33

“No one, when he has lit a Lamp, puts it in a cellar or under a basket,

but on a stand, that those who come in may see the Light.

Teh. 119:105

Your Word is a Lamp to my feet, and a Light (aur) for my path.

The lamp of the body is the eye. Therefore when your eye is good, your

whole body is also full of Light; but when it is evil, your body also is full

of darkness. Therefore see whether the light that is in you isn’t darkness.

If therefore your whole body is full of Light, having no part dark, it shall

Page 5: What was the first test of YaHuWaH,s people

be wholly full of Light, as when the Lamp with its bright shining gives

you Light.”

With this in mind, heart soul and strength let us study together in the

Ruwach

The Sabbath is not a day of creation, but of resting in the goodness of

what has already been done and to come.

YaHuWaH Gave the commandments personally

The Word of YaHuWaH [Memra] spoke all these words, saying, “I AM

YaHuWaH your Aluahiym, Who brought you out of the land of Mitsrayim,

out of the house of bondage.

The word here for "I" is a specialized one that indicates an intimacy

between the speaker and the one spoken to. But recognizing that His

name is YaHuWaH and that we are to have a relationship to Him as on

those terms is the foundational principle He lays down. He often places

this phrase “I Am YaHuWaH your Aluahiym” next to a command, partly

Page 6: What was the first test of YaHuWaH,s people

to say, “You must do it because of who I am, and I said so”, but also

because it is only through obeying these commands that we can truly

know what He is like.

The Sabbath was instituted in Paradise,

The Sabbath Blessing of Bemidbar 6:22-27 reads

(actual Ibriy)

YaHuWaH

Will kneel before you presenting GIFTS and will GUARD you with HEDGE

of PROTECTION.

YaHuWaH

Will ILLUMINATE the WHOLENESS of HIS BEING towards you bringing

ORDER and he will BEAUTIFY you.

YaHuWaH

Will lift up HIS WHOLENESS of BEING and LOOK UPON YOU and will SET

IN PLACE all you NEED to be WHOLE and COMPLETE.

He blesses you, YaHuWaH, and He guards you; He shines, YaHuWaH,

His Face to you, and He favors you; He lifts, YaHuWaH, His Face to you,

and He puts for you shalom. So shall they put My Name upon the sons

of Y’ISCHRa’EL, and I, I will bless them.

Being SET APART by a HEDGE

In the book of Iyowb we read

YaHuWaH said to haSatan,

Page 7: What was the first test of YaHuWaH,s people

“Have you considered my servant, Iyowb? For there is none like him in

the earth, a blameless and an upright man, one who fears

Aluahiym, and turns away from evil. „Then haSatan answered

YaHuWaH, and said, “Does Iyowb fear Aluahiym for nothing? Haven’t

you made a hedge around him, and around his house, and around all

that he has, on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands, and

his substance is increased in the land. But put forth your hand now, and

touch all that he has, and he will renounce you to your face.”

Shemoth 20:8

“Remember the Sabbath day, to guard it set apart.

Remember: recall, recognize, or make mention of it--because it is

nothing new at this point; it has been around since creation

(and verse 11 makes this connection overtly).

For in six days YaHuWaH made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is

in them, and rested the seventh day; therefore YaHuWaH blessed the

Sabbath day, and made it set apart.

This assumes we keep track of which day it is. But if we look around

today, it is to see how easy it is for even very religious people to forget.

A parallel passage,

Deut. 5:12

“Treasure up the Sabbath day, to keep it set-apart, as YaHuWaH your

Aluahiym commanded you.

Treasure up: or safeguard. It is our responsibility to build a hedge

around the treasure He has given us. Be stricter than you have to, to be

sure it is not lost! If we are trying to find loopholes in it, we have not

successfully hedged out our own will. There is more written about this

command than any of the others, yet it receives the least emphasis

today, and what publicity it receives is usually inaccurate. Nothing we do

on it should be common or profane. It is a gift--made for man, as

Page 8: What was the first test of YaHuWaH,s people

YaHuWSHuWaH said--but it comes with instructions as to how it is for

our benefit. It must be used for us (corporately), not for yourself as

such.

says "observe" ("guard") where this one says "remember", for to guard

we must remember. The term for "guard" essentially means to fence off-

-i.e., look for ways to ensure that you stay away from your own pursuits.

Meeting together helps us keep those things off our minds. We should

make a point of doing as many things as possible differently on the

Sabbath so that nothing on it is ordinary or mundane. This is the one

commandment YaHuWaH repeated after all the words Moshe brought

down from the mountain

Shemoth 31:12

YaHuWaH spoke to Moshah, saying,

Shemoth 31:13

“Speak also to the children of Y’ISCHRa’EL, saying, ‘most certainly you

shall guard my Sabbaths: for it is a sign between me and you

throughout your generations; that you may know that I AM

YaHuWaH who sets you

apart.

Even obeying His command to build these holy things could not override

the Sabbath. The construction of the tabernacle was, after all, all about

the "seventh day"--the Kingdom which it foreshadows. You shall be sure:

I.e., do not miss this! This is a strong term meaning "by every means at

your disposal", or "above all else". I.e., check to see if we are really

keeping it. Have we really built the fence? It is the first of YaHuWaH's

appointments; there is no point learning about the others if we have not

become proficient at it. We cannot truly keep them outside of this

context anyway. They are not a field trip or spectator sport, but who we

are. A sign: a distinguishing mark or token of an agreement. It is like a

wedding ring that seals YaHuWaH's special relationship with

Y’ISCHRa’EL. If the sign over a store is gone, it means it is no longer in

Page 9: What was the first test of YaHuWaH,s people

business. If someone deliberately leaves his wedding ring off, it makes

us wonder whether he wants others to know he is married. Many

teachers "hang out a sign" offering their services, but if they do not even

obey this most basic command, they are not really licensed in

YaHuWaH's eyes. They may be apprentices, but we can hardly imagine

that they can lead us deeper into holiness.

Shemoth 31:14

You shall guard the Sabbath therefore; for it is set apart to you.

Everyone who profanes it shall surely be put to death; for whoever does

any work therein, that soul shall be cut off from among his people.

Building a hedge around the Sabbath (so that no one will even come

close to breaking it) is part of living up to our name. On it we must be

set apart from all the other cares, priorities, and habits of the rest of the

week. The Sabbath is often called a queen or a bride; refusing to

participate in it is like giving excuses to not attend a wedding. Treats it

as ordinary: profanes, desecrates, or defiles, reduces in honor, based on

a root that means to hurt. Work: the type of work done for pay or for

personal benefit.

YaHuWaHshua answered and spoke again in parables to them, saying,

“The Reign of YaHuWaH is like a certain King, who made a marriage

feast for his Ben,and sent out His servants to call those who were invited

to the marriage feast, but they would not come.

Shemoth 31:15

Six days shall work be done, but on the seventh day is a Sabbath of

solemn rest, set apart to YaHuWaH. Whoever does any work on the

Sabbath day shall surely be put to death.

The seriousness of this command is reiterated over and over, yet it is

probably the one most often disobeyed by people who say they belong

Page 10: What was the first test of YaHuWaH,s people

to YaHuWaH. Saying the Sacredness moved from the last day of the

week to the first leaves the last day with decreased honor. On the

Sabbath we have the privilege of forgetting the rat race and spending

time with our Creator as if we were back in Eden. One day in seven we

can "live in the Kingdom" even now. By our actions we build the houses

we will live in then.

1 Cor. 3:12ff

But if anyone builds on the foundation with gold, silver, costly stones,

wood, hay, or stubble; each man’s work will be revealed. For the Day

will declare it, because it is revealed in fire; and the fire itself will test

what sort of work each man’s work is. If any man’s work remains which

he built on it, he will receive a reward. If any man’s work is burned, he

will suffer loss, but he himself will be saved, but as through fire. Don’t

you know that you are a Dwelling Place of YaHuWaH, and that

YaHuWaH’s Ruwach lives in you? If anyone destroys the Dwelling Place

of YaHuWaH, YaHuWaH will destroy him; for YaHuWaH’s Dwelling Place

is Kodesh, which you are. Let no one deceive himself. If anyone thinks

that he is wise among you in this world, let him become a fool, that he

may become wise. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with

YaHuWaH. For it is written, “He has taken the wise in their craftiness.”

And again, “YaHuWaH knows the reasoning of the wise, that it is

worthless.” Therefore let no one boast in men. For all things are yours,

In the "seventh day"--the Millennial Kingdom--nothing new can be

added; it will be too late.

Shemoth 31:16

Therefore the children of Y’ISCHRa’EL shall guard the Sabbath, to

observe the Sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual

covenant.

Keep [it] ...to observe it: don't just do the action, but examine what it is

meant to teach you. Carry out: or, make the Sabbath: Rabbi Abraham

Joshua Heschel describes preparing our hearts for the Sabbath as

"building a palace in time" and then quieting down to dwell in it,

spending the time with YaHuWaH. It is His ordained way of extending

Page 11: What was the first test of YaHuWaH,s people

the concept of holiness to the realm of time. He Himself keeps the

Sabbath, so on it, we are participating in the same activity He is doing.

Shemoth 31:17

It is a sign between Me and the children of Y’ISCHRa’EL forever; for in

six daysYaHuWaH made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he

rested, and was refreshed.’”

The Sabbath is a sign.

It is thus on the same level as binding YaHuWaH's words on our hand.

Deut. 6:8

You shall bind them for a sign on your hand, and they shall be for

symbols between your eyes.

"Was refreshed" means "breathed in" or "withdrew into Himself". Even

He stops to catch His breath on it; how much more do we need to? He

draws back into Himself what He has already done. But first we must

"breathe out" the other six days. But it has the same root as the word

for "soul", and this forms the basis for the tradition that on the Sabbath

one receives a second soul.

the seventh day of the week.

(It does not just say "one day in seven", but specifically the seventh day

of the week.) But keeping it in mind also requires a concrete

participation as acknowledgment of its spiritual reality. The tense of

"remember" here extends indefinitely beyond merely the day itself (S.R.

Hirsch), since in a sense all days were created for the purpose of having

a Sabbath rest. The liturgy for the end of the Sabbath blesses YaHuWaH

who, as He created a distinction between the Sabbath and the ordinary

days, has also distinguished between light and darkness, and between

Page 12: What was the first test of YaHuWaH,s people

Y’ISCHRa’EL and the rest of the nations, since it is not to be a nation just

like all the others. Set-apart: in a category of its own.

Shemoth 20:9

You shall labor six days, and do all your work,

Work: here, occupation for the sake of gain or the continuation of

creation by altering the nature or form of anything. Herein again is the

importance of finishing the work YaHuWaH gives us to do in this age,

and not waiting until it is convenient to obey (as it will be in the

Kingdom) to show with Whom we stand. Notice that even on the six

ordinary days, service takes priority over employment.

Shemoth 20:10

But the seventh day is a Sabbath to YaHuWaH your Aluahiym.

You shall not do any work in it, you, nor your son, nor your daughter,

your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your livestock, nor your

stranger who is within your gates;

Sabbath:

time of ceasing and desisting.

Employment: or "constructive work", or "using the material of the world

for our own purposes" (Hirsch). We do this for six days, but only this is

excluded on the Sabbath; the "labor [for service]" in verse 9 (for which

we expect no reward in return and through which others benefit and are

moved to bless YaHuWaH) is not prohibited, so we do that type of work

seven days a week, not just on the Sabbath when we desist from the

work for our own gain. The rabbis say "your wife" is not mentioned in

the list, because husband and wife are considered one entity. Service to

one another [the first type of work (labor) listed above] is not forbidden

on the Sabbath; indeed, on the Sabbath the priests in the Temple

doubled their work of sacrifices. What is forbidden is doing things for our

own pleasure

YashaYahuw 58:13

Page 13: What was the first test of YaHuWaH,s people

HIS SABBATH, HIS RULES, HIS QODESH

YashaYahuw 58:14

Then you shall delight yourself in YaHuWaH; and I shall make you to

ride on the high places of the Land; and I shall feed you with the

heritage of Ya'aqob your father:” for the mouth of YaHuWaH has spoken

it.

the opposite of serving one another and focusing on YaHuWaH--and

anything by which we participate in an act of creating or gainful activity,

Page 14: What was the first test of YaHuWaH,s people

since it is a reminder that YaHuWaH, not Mammon, has the final word

and ultimate ownership of our lives. Everything else takes a back seat to

this and does not matter. (As demonstrated by the Maccabees and in the

Six-Day War, or more commonly by continuing to run hospitals, deeds

necessary to preserve life are exempted from this prohibition, though

those who do so should not earn anything by doing so, or if they must,

then give it away.) We also let others rest, and even our animals have a

day to be themselves, and not "ours". Guest who is within your gates: an

idiom for someone who has come under YISCHRaEL’s authority to learn

from her about YaHuWaH, with a view to one day becoming part of the

community. But even a guest who is passing through is responsible to

know the rules of what may or may not be done on the Sabbath. Rashi

comments that our ceasing is also to be in attitude, not just deed; we

are to enter into the Sabbath with the same ease we would feel if all our

other work was actually completed, just as YaHuWaH did after creation.

Though it was not on a Sabbath, YaHuWSCHuA exemplified this idea

just before his death, when he said he had completed all the work

YaHuWaH had given him to do.

Shemoth 20:11

for in six days YaHuWaH made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that

is in them, and rested the seventh day; therefore YaHuWaH blessed the

Sabbath day, and made it set apart.

The Sabbath is the only day in creation on which we can participate in

what YaHuWaH is doing and thereby be united with Him. We cannot

participate in making the earth or stars, but we can rest when He rests.

Thus those who participate in the day He blessed are blessed as well.

YaHuWaH gave much more weight and detail to this command than any

other, showing how important it is to Him. He leaves no room for

misinterpretation. Nobody works on this day. Anyone who could be

seen as representing you in any way must cease from labor. Normal

routines must be changed so we can give it a separate place in our

thoughts and actions, as YaHuWaH did on the first Sabbath. (Gen. 2:2)

The first three commands pertain specifically to our relationship with

YaHuWaH, and twice as many--six--that pertain to our relationship with

our fellow men. But the hinge on which the gateway between them

Page 15: What was the first test of YaHuWaH,s people

swings is this fourth command. It ties the two great commands

together. Yochanan the Envoy emphasized this, asking how we could

love YAHUWAH, whom we cannot see, if we cannot even love our

neighbors, whom we can see, as ourselves. Loving our neighbor is the

only doorway by which we can arrive at true commitment to YaHuWaH.

The Sabbath cannot truly be kept unless it is shared; it is something we

have in common with all of YaHuWaH’s people. “Keeping the

Sabbath”does not mean keeping it to oneself.

YashaYahuw 58:13

“If you turn away your foot from the Shabbath, from doing your pleasure

on My Qodesh day; and call the Shabbath a delight, and the Qodesh of

YaHuWaH esteem-able; and shall esteem it, not doing your own ways,

nor finding your own pleasure, nor speaking your own words [uttering a

word of indignation from your mouth]:

Even when repairing the breach, we must still pause when He says to

pause. Your foot: the three pilgrim festivals are literally called "feet" in

Hebrew (shalosh regalim, Ex. 23:14). But our choice of festivals (most of

which were borrowed and adapted from pagan sources) has obscured

His. Man-made festivals claimed to replace the Sabbath, but He wants us

to turn back (repent) to the calendar He Himself set up. To be honored:

or important. Your own: We can only receive when we give back to Him

what He has given us by turning it over to the welfare of all Y’ISCHRa’EL.

YashaYahuw 58:14

Then you shall delight yourself in YaHuWaH; and I shall make you to

ride on the high places of the Land; and I shall feed you with the

heritage of Ya'aqob your father:” for the mouth of YaHuWaH has spoken

it.

The High Places: the areas claimed by the Palestinians now, but which

actually belong to the northern Kingdom and Yahuwdah. (Yehezqel 36:2)

The high ground is a place of safety and having the upper hand, and

from which we can see an enemy coming. After the fast, if we receive

its lessons properly, we can move on to the feasting of Sukkoth. He

Page 16: What was the first test of YaHuWaH,s people

Himself will feed us with the words of His mouth. This provides a link to

Psalm 81, which was written most particularly for the season of

repentance prior to Yom haKippurim.

This provides a link to Tehillim 81

Sing aloud to Aluahiym, our strength!

Make a joyful shout to the Aluahiym of Ya'aqob!

Raise a song, and bring here the tambourine,

the pleasant lyre with the harp.

Blow the shofar at the New Moon [of the first day of the 7th month -

trumpets], at the full moon, on our feast day [the 15th - Sukkoth].

For it is a statute for Y’ISCHRa’EL,

an ordinance of the Aluahiym of Ya'aqob.

He appointed it in Yowseph for a testimony,

when He went out over the land of Mitsrayim,

I heard a language that I didn’t know.

“I removed his shoulder from the burden.

His hands were freed from the basket.

You called in trouble, and I delivered You.

I answered You in the secret place of thunder.

I tested You at the waters of Meribah.”

Selah.

“Hear, My people, and I will testify to You,

Y’ISCHRa’EL, if You would listen to Me!

There shall be no strange mighty one in You,

Page 17: What was the first test of YaHuWaH,s people

neither shall You worship any foreign mighty one.

I AM YaHuWaH, Your Aluahiym,

Who brought You up out of the land of Mitsrayim.

Open Your mouth wide, and I will fill it.

But My people didn’t listen to My Voice.

Y’ISCHRa’EL desired none of Me.

So I let them go after the stubbornness of their hearts,

that they might walk in their own counsels.

Oh that My people would listen to Me,

that Y’ISCHRa’EL would walk in My Ways!

I would soon subdue their enemies,

and turn My hand against their adversaries.

The haters of YaHuWaH would cringe before Him,

and their punishment would last into the Ages.

But He would have also fed them with the finest of the wheat.

I will satisfy You with honey out of the Rock.”

, which was written most particularly for the season of repentance prior

to Yom Kippur.

“The Sabbath is made for man”, but that means it is a gift, and we must

find its proper use, not simply throw it away or let it sit unused. “The

Sabbath is made for man”, but still we must use it properly.

He said to them,

Page 18: What was the first test of YaHuWaH,s people

“This is that which YaHuWaH has spoken, ‘Tomorrow is a solemn rest, a

Set-apart Sabbath to YaHuWaH.

YaHuWaH spoke to Moshah, saying,

Shemot 31:13

“Speak also to the children of Y’ISCHRa’EL, saying,

‘Most certainly you shall guard my Sabbaths:

for it is a sign between me and you throughout your

generations;

that you may know that I AM YaHuWaH who sets you apart.

You shall guard the Sabbath therefore; for it is set apart to you.

Everyone who profanes it shall surely be put to death; for whoever does

any work therein, that soul shall be cut off from among his Six days

shall work be done, but on the seventh day is a Sabbath of solemn

rest, set apart to YaHuWaH. Whoever does any work on the Sabbath

day shall surely be put to death?

Therefore the children of Y’ISCHRa’EL shall guard the Sabbath, to

observe the Sabbath throughout their generations,

for a perpetual covenant.

It is a sign between Me and the children of Y’ISCHRa’EL

forever;

for in six days YaHuWaH made heaven and earth, and on the seventh

day he rested, and was refreshed.’”

Debarim 8:3

Page 19: What was the first test of YaHuWaH,s people

He humbled you, and allowed you to hunger,(for his word) and fed you

with manna,(the living word) which you didn’t know, neither did your

father’s know; that He might make you know that man does not live by

bread only, but by every Word that proceeds out of the mouth of

YaHuWaH does man live.

Again, here is a test of whether we are being led by YaHuWaH or not.

Are we hungering for more? Are we being fed by things we had never

heard of? We would not have paid attention if we were not starving, yet

still we so often looked to empty calories to fill our hunger rather than

accepting the true nourishment He provided. What we walked in before

was made by men for our comfort, but YaHuWaH gives us what we truly

need. We must not get tired of it and, like our ancestors, want what we

had when we were slaves. YaHuWaH likes to keep the medium from

being the focus. Y’ISCHRa’EL in particular is not limited to the usual

means of sustenance. He provides through a variety of sources and

makes some of the wells dry up so that we will recognize that He is

behind them all, and not start trusting the means rather than the

provider. We don't know where it is coming from, but what we need is

always there. We should not look on such a prospect with dread, but see

life as never boring, but an adventure. (See also 11:10-11) He then

moves directly from speaking about manna to speaking about what

comes from YaHuWaH's mouth. When He told Y’ISCHRa’EL how to

gather the manna, He said to do it, literally, "a word a day". (Ex. 16:4)

This is the deeper meaning the manna represents. This, too, comes from

His mouth and as the manna fills your mouth, YaHuWaH's words are

what is to fill our mouths, not just community for its own sake. (He

speaks in particular of "the" bread--a specific bread. "One bread"

represents community per 1 Cor. 10:17, but as the economy dries up,

more and more people may see the value of community for other

reasons, but for us it must be for the sake of the Kingdom and the

Torah.) YaHuWSCHuA is called the bread that comes from Heaven

(Yochanan 6:32) as the "manna" did. But the Torah is also likened to

bread in Scripture (Amos 8:11), and this, too, comes out of the mouth of

YaHuWaH. If we do not know His words, we are not armed for the tests.

But it is not just words that come from His mouth, but His "breath"

(same as "spirit" in Hebrew) as well. (Gen. 2:7) "Humanity" here is the

Page 20: What was the first test of YaHuWaH,s people

word Adam, so it is meant to point us back to this. It should be as if we

were breathing the same air that YHWH "breathes". Like baby birds who

do not know what their parents are bringing, we have to trust Him to

feed us what will nourish us because it is coming from the right source.

In the wilderness, Moshe was also the "mouth" of YaHuWaH, and the

Torah is still the test for all else that seems to be from His mouth. Again

He has been feeding us with things we did not know before--like the

Sabbath, His appointed times, the kosher laws, etc. Much knowledge

that we have not seen for thousands of years is now flowing from this

book. This is what we are to live for, not just to gain a livelihood and fill

our bellies.

Shemot 16:28

YaHuWaH said to Moshah, “How long do you refuse to guard My

Commandments and My Instructions?

A humble attitude

This is what YaHuWaH, the Aluahiym of the Hebrews, says: ‘How long

will you refuse to humble yourself before Me?

You are Ambassadors of the YaHuWaH of Y’ISCHRa’EL, carrying his

dispatches to the people

Shemot 16:29

Behold, because YaHuWaH has given you the Sabbath,

Everyone stay in his place. Let no one go out of his place on the seventh

day.”

YaHuWSCHuA reiterates that the Sabbath is YaHuWaH's gift to man

(Mark 2:27), but this means we must gratefully take responsibility for it;

otherwise it too becomes a test of how set apart we are, for this reveals

Page 21: What was the first test of YaHuWaH,s people

what we will do in more weighty circumstances. (Luke 16:10-12) Are we

worthy of being given the rest of the Torah? If we do pass the test, it is

His sign that He has set us apart. (Yehezqel/Ez. 20:12) Obedience shows

that we want His ring on our finger, and thus are as set apart as the

Sabbath--that is, off limits to anyone else. Remain in his place: Rev.

22:11 is reminiscent of this; when the gates are shut or sealed (as in the

imagery at Yom Kippur), no one can go in or out any longer. The

seventh day foreshadows the coming millennium, when one's position

will already have been determined. If we wait until the kingdom to seek

the kingdom first, we will find that we are too late; we cannot buy oil

once the doors are closing. (Mat. 25:8-13) If we are not used to the

Sabbath, we will feel utterly clueless when we get to the Kingdom. Many

will be there, yet will suffer the torment of being excluded from the

banquet hall. But while the city gates were closed on the Sabbath so no

commerce could enter or exit, the Temple's gates were open all day on

the Sabbath, and "place" is a special idiom for the Temple Mount. That is

the place to stay on the Sabbath. (The word for "place" is based on the

word for "stand" or "rise up", and no one is permitted to sit down there

except the king in the line of David.)

Shemot 16:30

So the people rested on the seventh day.

Finally! Why did they have to be beaten into something that is such a

privilege, especially for former slaves? Yet this is the very reason they

had a hard time doing so (apart from the fact that they had to trust

YaHuWaH instead of providing for themselves): their Egyptian

taskmasters had probably made them feel guilty every time they relaxed,

and Egypt was still in their minds.

Ok understood so far

The Sabbath was given to man:

B'Rayshiyth 2:22

Page 22: What was the first test of YaHuWaH,s people

He made the side (rib), which YaHuWaH Aluahiym had taken from the

man, into a woman, and brought her to the man. The man said, “This is

now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh. She will be called

‘woman,’ because she was taken out of Man.”

It was made for man; man was not made to serve it

Mark 2:27

He said to them, “The Shabbath was made for the sake of man, not man

for the sake of the Shabbath.

Thus says YaHuWaH, Don’t let the wise man boast in his wisdom,

neither let the mighty man boast in his might, don’t let the rich man

boast in his riches; but let him who boasts, boast in this, that he has

understanding, and knows Me, that I AM YaHuWaH Who exercises loving

kindness, justice, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I

delight, says YaHuWaH.

Boast: means to rave about something even to the point of appearing

foolish. When the lights are really turned on, all will see that living for

oneself is the real foolishness, but in the era when such philosophies

have precedence in the public eye, walking the most straightforward,

simple way will be what is called foolish. And that is what we must

accept for His sake.

1 Cor. 1; 19-2:16

For it is written, “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, I will bring the

discernment of the discerning to nothing. „Where is the wise? Where is

the scribe? Where is the Torah scholar of this world? Hasn’t YaHuWaH

made foolish the wisdom of this world? For seeing that in the wisdom of

YaHuWaH, the world through its wisdom didn’t know YaHuWaH, it was

YaHuWaH’s good pleasure through the foolishness of proclaiming to save

those who believe For Yahuwdim ask for signs, Arameans seek after

Page 23: What was the first test of YaHuWaH,s people

wisdom, but we proclaim haMashiyach impaled; a stumbling block to

Yahuwdim, and foolishness to Arameans, but to those who are called,

both Yahuwdim and Arameans, haMashiyach is the Power of YaHuWaH

and the Wisdom of YaHuWaH. Because the foolishness of YaHuWaH is

wiser than men, and the weakness of YaHuWaH is stronger than men.

For you see your calling, brothers, that not many are wise according to

the flesh, not many mighty, and not many noble; but YaHuWaH chose

the foolish things of the world that He might put to shame those who are

wise. YaHuWaH chose the weak things of the world, that He might put

to shame the things that are strong; and YaHuWaH chose the lowly

things of the world, and the things that are despised, and the things that

are not, that He might bring to nothing the things that are: that no flesh

should boast before YaHuWaH. But of Him, you are in haMashiyach

YaHuWSCHuA, Who was made to us Wisdom from YaHuWaH, and

righteousness and Set-apartness, and redemption: that, according as it

is written,

“He who boasts, let him boast in YaHuWaH.

When I came to you, brothers, I didn’t come with excellence of speech

or of wisdom, proclaiming to you the witness of YaHuWaH. For I

determined not to know anything among you, except YaHuWSCHuA

haMashiyach, and Him impaled. I was with you in weakness, in fear, and

in much trembling. My speech and my proclaiming were not in

persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Ruwach

and of Power, that your persuasion wouldn’t stand in the wisdom of

men, but in the Power of YaHuWaH. We speak wisdom, however, among

those who are full grown; yet wisdom not of this world, nor of the rulers

of this world, who are coming to nothing. But we speak YaHuWaH’s

wisdom in a secret, the wisdom that has been hidden, which YaHuWaH

foreordained before the worlds for our esteem, which none of the rulers

of this world has known. For had they known it, they wouldn’t have

impaled the Master of esteem. But as it is written:

Page 24: What was the first test of YaHuWaH,s people

“Things which an eye didn’t see, and an ear didn’t hear, which didn’t

enter into the heart of man, these YaHuWaH has prepared for those who

love Him.”

Yasha. 64:4

For from of old men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither

has the eye seen an Aluahiym besides You, Who works for him who

longs for Him.

Y’ISCHRa’EL is asking that YaHuWaH repeat what He did in the past, so

there will be no doubt among her enemies about whose side He is on.

But Paul quoted this verse (in slightly-modified form) in 1 Cor. 2:9, and

in that context, he says that natural men cannot understand spiritual

principles, so, as in YaHuWSCHuA parable, even if someone came back

from the dead to tell them, they would not believe it if they are not

already disposed to do so. (Lk. 16:31) Long for Him: the phrase includes

the sense of digging in and entrenching oneself, not being passive.

(Compare Tehillim 27:4; 37:9, 34; 52:9; Hos. 12:2ff)

1 Cor. 2:8-10

But the rulers of this world have not understood it; if they had, they

would never have impaled our esteemed Master That is what the

Scriptures mean when they say,

"No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has

imagined

what YaHuWaH has prepared for those who love Him."

But we know these things because YaHuWaH has revealed them to us

by His Ruwach, and His Ruwach searches out everything and shows us

even YaHuWaH's deep secrets.]

Y’ISCHRa’EL is asking that YaHuWaH repeat what He did in the past, so

there will be no doubt among her enemies about whose side He is on.

But Sha'ul quoted this verse (in slightly-modified form) in 1 Cor. 2:9, and

in that context, he says that natural men cannot understand Ruwachual

principles, so, as in YaHuWSCHuA parable, even if someone came back

from the dead to tell them, they would not believe it if they are not

Page 25: What was the first test of YaHuWaH,s people

already disposed to do so. (Lk. 16:31) Long for Him: the phrase includes

the sense of digging in and entrenching oneself, not being passive.

(Compare Teh 27:4; 37:9, 34; 52:9; Hos. 12:2ff)

But to us, YaHuWaH revealed them through the Ruwach. For the

Ruwach searches all things, yes, the deep things of YaHuWaH For who

among men knows the things of a man, except the Ruwach of the man,

which is in him? Even so, no one knows the things of YaHuWaH, except

YaHuWaH’s Ruwach. But we received, not the Ruwach of the world, but

the Ruwach which is from YaHuWaH, that we might know the things that

were freely given to us by YaHuWaH. Which things also we speak, not in

words which man’s wisdom teaches, but which the Ruwach haKadosh

teaches, comparing Ruwachual matters with Ruwachual matters .Now

the natural man doesn’t receive the things of YaHuWaH’s Ruwach, for

they are foolishness to him, and he can’t know them, because they are

Ruwachual discerned. But he who is Ruwachual discerns all things, and

he himself is judged by no one. “For who has known the mind of

YaHuWaH, that he should instruct Him? ”But we have Mashiyach’s mind.

YaHuWSCHuA echoed this concept when He told His disciples not to

rejoice because the demons were subject to them, but because their

names were inscribed in Heaven.

Luke 10:20

Nevertheless, don’t rejoice in this, that the shadim are subject to you,

but rejoice that your names are written in the heavens.”

Rev 13:8-9

All those dwelling on the earth, whose names have not been written in

the Book of Life of the slaughtered Lamb, from the overthrow of the

world, shall worship (obey) him.If anyone has an ear, let him hear.

Page 26: What was the first test of YaHuWaH,s people

What is called wisdom now is usually just knowing the way the system

works and capitalizing on it. But all of this knowledge will be thrown into

disarray soon when He shakes all that can be shaken.

Haggai 2:6

For this is what YaHuWaH Master of Armies says: ‘Yet once more, in a

little while, and I will shake the heavens, the earth, the sea, and the dry

land

If we think we know anything, we have not yet begun to have true

knowledge

But if anyone thinks that he knows anything, he doesn’t yet know as he

ought to know.

because we know in part

1 Cor. 13:9

For we know in part, and we prophesy in part;

i.e., by contrasting one thing with another, and by fragmenting things

into manageably-sized increments. But the only true knowledge is to

connect directly with the Source in which all of the parts hold together.

This consolidates our debts and infinitely simplifies life.

Compare

Justice: or judgment, right legal ruling. Asking Him, as we do in the

shakharith prayers, to “restore our judges as at the earliest times” seems

extremely undemocratic, but it is the way of Y’ISCHRa’EL. We must “be

transformed by the renewing of our minds”

Rom. 12:2

Don’t be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of

your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and

perfect will of YaHuWaH.

so our reasons for boasting can be reset.

‘Tomorrow is a solemn rest, a Set-apart Sabbath to YaHuWaH.

Though it must be used for its proper purpose.

What is it for?

First of all, to be a test of how set apart we are, for this reveals what we

will do in more weighty circumstances.

Luke 16:10-12

He who is trustworthy in a very little is trustworthy also in much. He who

is dishonest in a very little is also dishonest in much. If therefore you

have not been trustworthy in the unrighteous mammon, who shall

commit to your trust the true riches? If you have not been trustworthy in

that which is another’s, who shall give you that which is your own?

When we do pass the test, it is His sign that He has set us apart.

Yehezqel 20:12

Moreover also I gave them My Shabbaths, to be a distinguishing sign

between Me and them, that they might know that I AM YaHuWaH Who

sets them apart.

Obedience shows that we want His ring on our finger, and thus are as

set apart as the Sabbath—that is, off limits to anyone else. Remain in his

place:

Page 28: What was the first test of YaHuWaH,s people

The Sabbath is sacred time

Shemot 3:5

He said, “Don’t come close. Take your sandals off of your feet, for the

place you are standing on is set-apart ground.”

This place also included the path YaHuWaH was about to set him on, for

it too was set apart. We are such a tenderized people that we can hardly

walk across a field barefoot anymore, but we cannot expect to keep

anything between ourselves and what He wants to do in us. We need to

fully experience the Torah path rather than keeping a "force field" that

insulates us from confrontation or correction. We must not form a shell

to shield ourselves from YaHuWaH, but be vulnerable to whatever the

path holds and . Mystical Judaism says that what is here in the midst of

the bush is the sefirotic tree (ten attributes by which YaHuWaH's nature

is expressed), also called the Tree of Life and the "ancient Adam". This

"tree" is also called a "stairway" (sulam), which in Hebrew has the same

Page 29: What was the first test of YaHuWaH,s people

numeric value as "Sinai", so there is a connection between this place and

the Temple Mount (Moryah), on which Yaaqov saw his vision of the

stairway to heaven. way he is walking in the footsteps of Yaaqov, and

now Yaaqov's name is added to the list of those with whom YaHuWaH is

personally associated. Paul calls YaHuWSCHuA the "last Adam", or

rather the Head of which we are parts of the body as we are being built

up into one new man (adam in Hebrew) and one complete Temple. As

Adam and Chavvah walked barefoot in the Garden of Eden, which was

later walled off as holy ground, like the Temple, Moshe is brought a

short respite from his exile and allowed to step in and again hear the

voice that spoke there in the cool (literally "breeze" or "spirit") of the

day. He is barefoot so he will have direct contact with the sand--symbol

of the descendants of Avraham. Priests also went barefoot in the

Temple, where YaHuWaH's presence was also revealed by fire.

Shemot 3:6

Moreover He said, “I AM the Aluahiym of your father -- the Mighty Ones

of Abraham, and of Yitschaq, and of Ya'aqob.” Moshah hid his face; for

he was afraid to look upon Aluahiym.

He apparently had been taught enough by his parents before Pharaoh's

daughter adopted him that he recognized these names and knew

enough to fear YaHuWaH.

Shemot 16:32

Moshah said, “This is the thing which YaHuWaH has commanded, ‘Fill

up the measure from it, be kept throughout your generations that they

may see the bread with which I fed you in the wilderness, when I

brought you forth from the land of Mitsrayim.’”

Measure: also the Heb.word omer. (See v. 36) YaHuWSCHuA

instructed the Pharisees to fill up the measure that those who killed the

prophets had left undone (Matt. 23:32). Ephesians 4 uses the "counting

of the omer" to instruct us in how to fill up the fullness of what

YaHuWSCHuA began and made possible for us. (Col. 1:24) The single

omer reminds us that though we are "one bread" (1 Cor. 10:17), as
