  • The dual mission of the Summer Session office is to support current students in timely graduation while simultaneously opening UCSC enrollment to our entire community. Our broad summer curriculum is designed for UCSC students to continue making degree progress. We also welcome high schoolers and visitors from other colleges to our world class research university.

In addition to Summer Session, our office coordinates the Summer Academies exclusively for incoming students. The Academies allow students to earn units towards graduation while building community and confidence on campus as they transition into university life.

We are here year round to answer all questions related to Summer Session registration and enrollment, as well as welcome students to ourcampus and help direct you as best we can.

    Stay Organized!

    Don't miss a class!

    Make Connections!

A major difference between Summer Session and Fall/Winter/Spring Quarters is the accelerated pace. Summer classes condense the material of a 10-week course into half of that time, so expect Summer Session to fly by.

Plan your coursework carefully, start working on assignments right away, shorter deadlines mean less time forprocrastination.

Accelerated course loads means each class covers huge amounts of information. A lot more will be missed by skipping a class during the summer than during other quarters.

A benefit of Summer Session is the relatively small class sizes, take advantage by connecting with your professors earlyon. Your professors understand the realities of the accelerated schedule during the summer, so emailing, calling orsetting up a meeting with them outside of class for further assistance can save your grade.

  • You can find your class schedule and room locationsin your MyUCSC portal.

For details on how to navigate your portal visitsummer.ucsc.edu/fundamentals/my-ucsc.html

Finding a certain classroom can be difficult! This online map is aconvenient way to search for classrooms, departments, and otherfacilities from your phone or laptop: maps.ucsc.edu

UCSC is a walking campus. Use UCSCs amazing network of paths andtrails for the most direct route from place to place on campus. Walkingcan be much quicker than riding shuttles.
