Joy and RejoicingThe Last Great Conflict....A. J. Tomlinson

Continued from last month

Jesus was anointed “with the oil of gladness” above His fellows, andHe is the leader of that happy band who shall “come to Zion with songs ofeverlasting joy upon their heads,” who “shall obtain joy and gladness, andsorrow and sighing shall flee away.”

At creation’s dawn “the morning stars sang together,” and until sincame and all was marred by its cruel insult, joy and gladness reignedsupremely everywhere. Jesus came to redeem us from the fall and when liftedback to edenic innocency by His supernal power the Holy Ghost restores to

us the joy that was lost. We never think of combining salvation and melancholy.A house was wrapped in flames. A fireman was vainly endeavoring to reach an upper window where a precious little

child was gasping for breath. He was almost despairing, when someone in the crowd shouted out, “Cheer him!” And froma thousand throats, went up a shout of encouragement, and the arm strengthened,....the head was cleared and the man dashedthrough the smoke and flame and rescued the precious child. How much more should we be so possessed with His joy andrejoicing that we can shout and cheer each other along in an attempt to rescue immortal souls from the flames of hell-fire!

We are told that there are great corporations and business enterprises in this country which will not employ a manif he is known to be unhappy in domestic relationships. His services are worth more if he is happy in his home. Now, if joyis at such a premium in secular things, how much more in God’s service! God wants happy people in His service. Those whoare free from the “blues.” A happy victorious people, who can bring sunshine in place of shadow. God is seeking a peoplewho will engage in this last great conflict gladly and joyfully. And if persecution or trouble comes upon them, (and it willcome) they can be like the disciples: “And they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were countedworthy to suffer shame for his name.” (Acts 5:41)

With a few men and women that fear nothing but God, and who are filled with the joy of Jesus and possessed withthat fullness of joy, God can accomplish great things, even in our day. One of the greatest hindrances to the work and spreadof the gospel is the talk and murmur proceeding from people who are slightly “soured.” They will use language that will havea tendency to discourage those who would otherwise go on. One person who is a “fault-finder” and without this gladvictorious joy, can wreck more lives and hinder the advancement of God’s cause more than a dozen sinners. Joy, victoriousjoy, is a jewel that every child of God ought to carry, and an ornament that should be displayed at every corner and avenueof life. It is an armor that every soldier enlisted in this great conflict should have strapped tight upon him.

If Stephen’s face could shine like the face of an angel in the midst of a volley of stones as they were hurled downupon him, why not your face shine while in the common walks of life? I have seen dear Christian friends, with apparentlynothing to cause it, live such miserable lives that they would cause a shadow and groan of distress to enter the heart of all whomingled with them. There is certainly a place in the center of God’s will where the sun will shine through the densest clouds. “Hope maketh not ashamed.”

There is a great need for strong men and women in the Master’s service. The joy of the Lord--His joy--fullness ofjoy, will give the needed strength. This joy can be obtained by perfect obedience to Jesus.

Look up, dear dejected soul, and receive a refreshing shower from above. Discouragement comes from the enemyof your soul. There is no need of living so far beneath your privileges, and it is your privilege to have His joy, and your joymade full. Pray and look up. Take hold of your possession. It is yours through Jesus. Hallelujah! “Rejoice in the Lordalways: and again I say, Rejoice.”

In the experience of St. Andrew is given an example of joy and happiness in the hour of the most cruel treatment. Aegenas first ordered him to be scourged, seven lictors successively whipping his naked body; and seeing his invinciblepatience and constancy, commanded him to be crucified; but to be fastened to the X-like cross with cords instead of nails, that his death might be more lingering and tedious. As he was led to the place of execution, walking with a cheerful andcomposed mind, the people cried out, that a good and innocent man was unjustly condemned to die. On his coming near thecross, he saluted it in the following manner: “I have long desired and expected this happy hour. The cross has beenconsecrated by the body of Christ hanging on it, and adorned with his members as with so many inestimable jewels. Itherefore come joyfully and triumphantly to it, that is may receive me as a disciple and follower of Him who once hung uponit, and be the means of carrying me safe to my Master, being the instrument on which He redeemed me.” After offering upHis prayers to a throne of grace and exhorting the people to constancy and perseverance in the faith he had delivered to them,he was fastened to the cross, on which he hung two whole days, teaching and instructing the people.

An Awesome Miracle – Healed from Cancer

Alice Wessly

World Outreach Ministries (Church of God of Prophecy, Madison, AL)

Jesus is alive! Because He lives, I live and He has proven one more time that He is the God who hears

and answers our prayers. With man it may be impossible, but with God all things are possible.

On the 11th of November 2012, while I was resting since I felt a little discomfort, a sudden surge of pain

went through my stomach and I fainted. Immediately the ambulance was called and I was taken to the

emergency hospital in Madison. They did lot of tests and scan and found a mass next to the ovary.

After further tests and scans, it was found that there were multiple growths in different areas and also

in between the stomach lining and it was found to be malignant. Being concerned with the diagnosis,

we wanted to have a second opinion, so we went to one of the best hospitals in the world – MD

Anderson in Houston, Texas. Believing that they would give a correct diagnosis and better treatment, we

believed if they do a surgery and remove the tumor it would solve all problems. However, the elite

doctors of the world at MD Anderson confirmed that the tumor is in fact malignant. Since the mass was

in different parts of stomach lining and in the ovary, it was impossible to remove all the cancer cells

surgically. Their treatment option was to shrink the growth of cancer cells and tumor by chemotherapy

and then do surgery.

After much thought, I started the chemotherapy treatments. For every treatment, either the medicines

caused great reaction or it did not help to impede the growth cancer cells. After weeks and months

trying five set of strong chemo medicines, there was not a good report from the doctor saying the blood

level improved or the tumor has shrunk. The scan also proved that the mass had grown.

Finally all medicines failed and the doctors had no answer. The doctor said that she was sorry and she

did not have any more options.

In the meantime many people were praying and Brother Jones had sent emails requesting prayer for

me, which was a great strength for my family and me. Different people have sent cards, emails, text

messages and words of encouragement. I also received booklets of healing scriptures and testimonies,

which were very encouraging. My husband was constantly with me and my family stood with me with

their prayers and support. At times I thought was not my prayer going beyond the ceiling. I asked the

Lord to show me where I have gone wrong and I was ready to live my life pleasing Him. During this time,

the Lord gave me many bible verses of healing and I read and mediated on those scriptures. I wrote

some of the scriptures on one side of the sheet of paper, and on the other side I wrote 1) No more

chemotherapy, 2) No surgery, and 3) I am going home healed. Every day morning and evening I laid my

hands on the sheet of paper and reminded the Lord and said,” Lord these are your words. The Holy

Spirit wrote these words for me. You will not lie to me. I am going home healed.”

Page 5: Alabama Update November 2013

When all doctors gave up, we booked our tickets for September 9th to come back home and asked for

wheelchair assistance to board the plane. In the meantime there were revival meetings, conventions,

prayer and fasting in different churches. We went whenever I was able and many anointed guest

preachers came from different countries. On September 6-8, there was a special meeting in a church in

Houston where people of India gathered. On the morning of September 6th I took the sheet of paper

and laid hands on it and reminded the Lord of His promises to me. The I said “Lord, I am your daughter;

You have a covenant with me. You said You are the Lord that healeth me. You will not lie to me. I am

going back on the 9th. There are a few hours ahead of me. You do not need all these hours to heal me,

You do not need one hour, just one word or one touch is enough.” I told this to the Lord and in the

evening of the same night we went to the meeting. That evening a young preacher from India preached

from Mark 5th chapter. He talked about three hopeless situations in the chapter. The man with 6000

demons, no one could control him, the woman with the issue of blood, who spent all her money on all

physicians and no one could help, and Jabirus’ daughter who died. In all three situations, when Jesus

came, they were all miraculously healed and delivered. The legion of demons that tormented this man

for years left the man, the woman with issue of blood for 12 long years was totally healed, and the

daughter of Jairus who was dead was brought back alive. While he was preaching, I told the Lord “I am a

hopeless situation sitting in this church. You will not pass me by today. Lord I am your child and I left all

for you when I was 17 years old. Touch my life and heal me.”

After the sermon, he called for people who needed prayer for healing and we went up and there were

others with us. All of a sudden he came and laid his hands on me and prayed. A shock went through me

and I was thrown back and fell down to the floor. I then stood up and he called me and asked what

happened. I told him “I do not know what happened, some shock went through me.” He said, “Where

medical science failed, I see God’s hand over it.” I knew God’s hand and sickness cannot be together. He

told me,”Sister, God has healed you. Go home healed.” I was healed and went for the remaining

meetings that weekend. On September 9th, we came to the airport and though we requested a

wheelchair, I told “I don’t need one.” I carried my box and had a bag on my shoulder and walked to the

plane. God did an awesome miracle when everything else failed. I don’t need chemotherapy or surgery.

I came back home healed.

I thank all the dear brothers and sisters in the State of Alabama who prayed for me, especially Bro. and

Sis. Jones, who were always keeping in touch and kept on encouraging us. It was the collective prayer of

all the saints of God in Alabama and all over the world which strengthened us. Your prayers kept us

strong in faith and I could rely on the words of promise. We love you all and God bless you all!

To God be the glory and praise!

Greetings in the name of Jesus,

Winter Conference is all about training and equipping students to reach their full potential in Christ. It is extremely vital that

we empower this generation, our future depends on it. Discipleship, ministry workshops, and life altering services

are the core values of this conference. Winter Conference: Bravehearted is one way to expedite Kingdom authority,

culture, and principles into the lives of all who attend.

This will be a time, in the middle of the school year, for students and leaders to be refreshed and challenged to finish the

school year strong. We believe that it is crucial for students and churches to take full advantage of these times of

refreshing. This conference is life changing! The last three years have been amazing and we expect this year to be even

richer!

The theme of Winter Conference 2013 is “Bravehearted”. We are living in a post-Christian society and nation. Young and

old alike must learn how to live counter-cultural lives. Everything around us seeks to distract and destroy. Truly, we find

ourselves in modern-day Babylon and the only way to bring about revival is to embrace the ways of Daniel. This young

man was possessed by the Supernatural One, stood against an entire empire, and never buckled under pressure. We

need Daniels and Esthers to emerge in these last days! We believe this conference will produce such.

Winter Conference will be held at Camp Boothe. The address is: 3111 Greyhill Rd., West Blocton, AL 35074. The

conference will be held Sunday, December 29th

, 2013 through Wednesday, January 1st

, 2014. Registration will be

from 2 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, December 29th

with dinner being served at 5:30 p.m. The cost of this

conference is $70 per person which covers room and board, nine meals, snacks and conference fees. Winter

Conference is designed for students ages 14 and above, student leaders, and youth pastors.

There are two ways to register for Winter Conference 2013:

#1- You and your students can go to www.hydrateministries.com, click on the “Winter Conference” tab, and print

off an application.

#2- You can make copies of the application provided with this letter and distribute them to your students.

All applications and conference fees must be mailed to:

Camp Boothe ATTN: Winter Conference

P.O. Box 240 Greenpond, AL 35074

Note: All applications and tuition need to be postmarked by Friday, December 13th. After this date, there will be a

$25.00 late fee for any applications received. This fee applies to walk-ins as well.

We want to personally invite you and your students to gather with us on December 29th – January 1

st as we cry out for

more of the Lord! We hope that you, your leaders, and your students will make plans now to attend Winter Conference.

From aPastoral perspective Clintand I are learning the fine artof strategy and delegationmixed with a whole lot ofprayer. The work load ofministering to more than 250people who call HCC their

“home church” can bedaunting, but ourinternal focus ofpriorities and constantp u r s u i t o f H i spresence, is whatsustains us. I believethis is the fuel forgrowing a church. Wejust completed aweekend Fall Revivalwith Glenn and LynnBleakney, new friendsof ours originally fromC a n a d a . T heyministered freedomand solid Biblical

teaching. The revival wasrefreshing! Severalhealings, salvations, andBaptisms of the Holy Ghostwith the evidence ofspeaking in other tongues. Brother Glenn agreed to stayover after the conclusion ofour Monday night servicesand minister in ourWednesday night youthservice. Picture below:

The presence of God in theservice was almost tangible. Hungry kids from our cityand region came expecting amove of the Holy Ghost andthey got it! The sign insheet showed 65 students inattendance, half of thosefrom our local high schoolthe others from ourneighboring high schoolsand local junior college. About eight of the studentshad never attended ourchurch on Sunday orWednesday. On top of those

stats, about 25 adults, parents and staff werewelcomed to attend butseating was prepared forthem in the back of theroom. During the ministrytime, one of our newstudent’s mother cameforward for prayer. She hadbeen struggling for severalyears with some femaleabnormalities that havecaused her great pain. Wewere told after service thather son spoke with her afterschool that day and said,“Mom, you need to go to myYouth Church tonight, youwill get healed there.” Shedid! It was an amazingencounter of healing. Inthis picture I see studentswho a few years ago wouldhave never attended a spirit-filled church. I see home-grown church kids who arenow burning with passionfor Christ. I see kids fromdifferent ethnicity. I seestudents who don’t haveparents at our church. I seea ministry pressing forwardto change a city, one personat a time. We are thankfulfor a Youth Pastor (DustinAtkins) who to this day isstill bi-vocational but puts100% into his ministry andcalling for this generation. His focus for changing a cityfor Christ is more than onecommunity outreach event. It is a day to day, living thelife, being an open heartedand nurturing church andyouth church. We are achurch that carries thegospel to the lost andteaches truth. Haleyville-Pathway: PraiseGod the junk is gone! Thebasement is clean and we aregetting ready to scrub wallsand paint with a sealer. Some of the old dry wall

Harvest PartnersBelarus

Hello from Belarus:

In our church in Mogilev we baptized four newpeople. One of the guys heard about God on ourprevious evangelization outreach in Berezino. He joinedrehab center in Mogilev and began to grow spiritually. Since that his life was completely changed.

Three months ago our leadership team fromMogilev visited prison in other city. There they met oneyoung guy who was willing to communicate with themthrough mail. They started to communicate and after hisreleasing from the prison that guy joined rehab center inMogilev.

Later he asked Pastor Arthur to visit his twinbrother an alcoholic. And he is only 26 years old. When they came to that brother and witness to him, heaccepts Jesus Christ and joined rehab center in Mogilev. Their mother was very surprised of that radical changeof her sons.

Also, I would like to say that I am very proudabout my daughter Nastya. She decided to study inBible seminary in Germany. In September she alreadymoved there. Nastya always prayed for her classmatesand invited them to the church. One of them was Anyawho came to Christ and right now she serve in worshipteam. On the last week of September we had specialyouth service in our church. And Nastya’s threeclassmates not only visited the church but they gavetheir lives to Christ.

When I told about that to Nastya, she was veryexcited. I believe that in near future my daughter will bea great minister. Please support us in prayer for her.

Wishing you all the best in everything. With Love, Gena

One of the needs of the hour is the need of moreENCOURAGERS.

Deuteronomy 3:23“But charge Joshus, and encourage him, and strengthenhim: for he shall go over before this people, and he shallcause them to inherit the land which thou shalt see.”

1 Samuel 30:6“And David was greatly distressed; for the people spakeof stoning him, because the soul of all the people wasgrieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters;but David encouraged himself in the Lord his God.”

No wonder David encouraged himself in the Lord hisGod.

Many battles and conflicts were won with Israel, due topositive speaking. Myself being one of the older ones, Iam now seeing this generation as anointed ones to leadus to complete victory. My thoughts are: THIS COULDBE THE GREATEST GENERATION.

One of the greatest generals in World War II (GeneralGeorge S. Patton) was asked a question. When are wegoing to get to go home? He gave a very simple answer,WHEN WE WIN THIS WAR.

Why not stay encouraged, don’t let Washington D. C.discourage you, believe J. C. (Jesus Christ). He said, “Iwill come again.”

We should be glad and rejoice for the blood boughtsaints, the body of Christ has been promised, predicted, and prophesied winners. On that great day, V. E. Day(Victory on Earth) for the faithful and the good soldiersof Jesus Christ will exclaim WE WON!

For the many families that lose a love one who was agood Christian and great at spiritual warfare. Whatgreat words this would be to put on their tombstone.

HERE LIES AN ENCOURAGER,KILROY
