Tin Mừng Chúa Giêsu Kitô theo Thánh Luca.
Khi ấy, Chúa Giêsu phán cùng các môn đệ một
dụ ngôn, dạy các ông phải cầu nguyện luôn, đừng
ngã lòng, mà rằng: "Trong thành kia, có một vị thẩm
phán không kính sợ Thiên Chúa, cũng không kiêng
nể người ta. Trong thành đó lại có một bà goá đến
thưa ông ấy rằng: 'Xin ông minh oan cho tôi khỏi tay
kẻ thù'. Trong một thời gian lâu dài, ông không chịu,
nhưng sau đó ông nghĩ rằng: 'Mặc dầu ta không kính
sợ Thiên Chúa, mà cũng chẳng kính nể người ta,
nhưng vì bà goá này cứ quấy rầy ta mãi, nên ta sẽ
xử cho bà ấy, kẻo bà ấy đến mãi làm ta nhức óc' ".
Rồi Chúa phán: "Các con hãy nghe lời vị thẩm
phán bất lương nói đó. Vậy Thiên Chúa lại không
minh xử cho những kẻ Người tuyển chọn, hằng kêu
cứu với Người đêm ngày, mà khoan giãn với họ mãi
sao? Thầy bảo các con, Chúa sẽ kíp giải oan cho họ.
Nhưng khi Con Người đến, liệu sẽ còn gặp được lòng
tin trên mặt đất nữa chăng?"

FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK
A Call to Political Responsibility The right to vote carries with it a responsibility to form one’s conscience
and to study and know the issues and candidates. As faithful citizens, we ask
how each candidate will address issues that protect or threaten the dignity of
every human life.
There are moral and ethical dimensions to every public policy. But different
issues carry different moral weight and urgency. Some involve intrinsically
evil acts that can never be approved, such as the intentional destruction of
innocent human life. Others involve an obligation to promote human
flourishing. The following questions are offered to assist in discerning where
the candidates stand on important issues in light of our foundational beliefs.
How will each candidate:
Ensure full respect for the right of persons and associations to fully
participate in society in accord with their basic moral and religious
convictions?
Address the preeminent requirement to protect the weakest in our
midst—innocent unborn children—by restricting and bringing to an
end the destruction of human life through abortion?
Reject violent social policies—such as assisted suicide, the destruction
of human embryos, and the death penalty—and instead promote
alternatives rooted in a consistent ethic of life?
Help families and children overcome poverty by creating more
choice in education; by promoting access to economic opportunity
and work at just wages; and by ensuring an adequate safety net for
the vulnerable?
Achieve comprehensive immigration reform that offers a path to
citizenship, treats immigrant workers fairly, prevents the separation
of families, maintains the integrity of our borders, and addresses the
factors that compel people to leave their own countries?
Ensure access to health care while respecting human life, human
dignity, and religious freedom in our health care system?
Promote the natural family, based on the life-long, complementary,
and fruitful union of one man and one woman, as the foundational
unit of society, and reject policies rooted in a false gender ideology?
Ensure governmental compliance with moral limits on the use of
military force—examining for what purposes it may be used, under
what authority, and at what human cost?
Exercise stewardship over our natural resources in a way that re-
spects God’s creation, protects the world’s poor and vulnerable, and
ensures a sustainable future for our children?
Protect the basic political and civil liberties of citizens in a manner
consistent with public safety and the common good?

FAMILY MINISTRY Thanks to all those who have attended the Adult Seminar on Communication! The Oct. 23rd seminar on the Five Love Languages will be rescheduled to Nov. 20th due to the Political Engagement Seminar that will be taking place prior to the Elections, hosted by the Peace and Social Justice Committee. Please come learn about what the U.S. Bishops are saying and to understand the importance of one's voice in the voting process! Việc bầu cử tổng thống Hoa Kỳ sắp đến rất quan trọng vì thế cha Xứ cho tổ chức một buổi hội thảo rộng rãi trong giáo xứ sau Thánh lễ 10:30 am ngày Chúa nhật 23/10/16 dưới base-ment nhà thờ. Trong buổi hội thảo này chúng ta sẽ nói về chủ trương của hai đảng Dân chủ cũng như Cộng hòa, đồng thời cũng đề cập tới đường lối của hai ứng cử viên TT Người đứng đầu của một quốc gia, nhất là Hoa kỳ, một cường quốc sẽ ảnh hưởng rất lớn đến chủ trương của Giáo Hội, vì thế chúng ta cũng sẽ đề cập đến lập trường của giáo hội để bà con tuỳ ý chọn lựa sao cho hợp với lương tâm của người Công giáo. Ước mong và kính mời quý ông bà, anh chị
đến tham dự đông đủ.
“TA KHÁT” Chúa Giêsu nói với Thánh Matthew, vị tông đồ của Thánh Tâm Chúa: “Ta khát khao được yêu trong Bí Tích Thánh Thể”, và Giáo xứ chúng ta đã có chương trình chầu vào Thứ Bảy hàng tuần, nay đã được 7 năm, nhưng vẫn còn thiếu người chầu trong một số giờ. Xin mời quí vị hưởng ứng tham dự. Cũng xin cám ơn những người đã tham dự giờ chầu trong suốt những năm qua. World Mission Sunday October 22/23, 2016 - Celebrating our Missionary Call
World Mission Sunday is the day the universal Catholic Church celebrates its missionary call by
offering prayers and financial support for the worldwide missionary Church. This is an appeal of the So-ciety for the Propagation of the Faith which supports our brothers and sisters in over 1,150 mission dio-
ceses worldwide. This year’s theme, “Mercy…to the Ends of the Earth,” reflects on mission as a corpo-ral and spiritual work that goes to the margins of the earth to serve the poor and disenfranchised, as highlighted by the Diocese of Fairbanks, Alaska. Please be as generous as you are able.
