    A. Summary of the Lesson Plan: This lesson requires time in the computer lab. Students will continue learning about

states and capitals by completing a state report for one state.

    5. Call students randomly using popsicle sticks and ask which state he/she would like toresearch. Make a list. Students cannot choose Nevada since it was used as an

    example.

    6. Students will work on the state report individually in the computer lab.7. CLOSURE: Students will tell their shoulder 1 interesting fact they learned about their state

    while working on the report.

    F. Assessment: What will you use to measure student understanding?

    1. The state report will be used as the assessment in this lesson.

Explain how you will know students understand the concepts from the lesson.

    1. The state report will show if the student understands the difference between astate and capital. It will also show if the student has knowledge of how to use a

map to locate and color in the correct state. This is important because the

future lessons will focus on individual state information.

    G. Reflection:1. Which part of the lesson do you think will be the easiest for you to teach?

I think the review portion is by far the easiest component of this lesson.

    2. Which part will be most challenging for you to teach?I think the most challenging part in general of this lesson will be to have all the

students on task in the computer lab. I think also having the students know what

information they need to pick out will be challenging. I think by showing students

how they can find the information would be helpful.

    3. How will you follow up or extend this lesson?I would have students write a short story in the point of view of the state and talking

about its neighbors, weather and how many people live there.

    4. What will you do for students who dont grasp the concepts?I would have students who do not know where they can find the information,

gather around my computer to show them a sample website and where the

    information will be labeled.

    5. Which part of the lesson, if any, do you think might need to change?

I would just change the lesson to offer a demonstration of where to find the

information so the students can be guided in a direction that will not get some of

    them lost.

    6. When you were writing this lesson plan, what was the most difficult part?Jamie Holst wrote this lesson plan.
