Editors Letter... Did you

survive half term? I‘m not talking about those lucky

enough to fly off somewhere warm! I am referring

to the rest of us who shivered in the cold damp

week trying to provide some outdoor time to keep

the kids happy!

I know it wasn‘t all that bad and there was one

lovely day—few hours on Tuesday, but I suppose it

is still February. On a visit to Yorkshire Wildlife

Park, I forgot about the cold completely when I

heard a low grumbling roar! A friend joked I was

going mad and suggested the noise came from a

nearby digger as the Lions are in quarantine until

Easter, then to our astonishment (not that Lions at

YWP is a big secret), there they were, a big cage

obscured slightly from the crowds, filled with

magnificent Lion and Lionesses. The adults amongst

us were far more excited than the children as we

all stood on a nearby garden seat to get a better

view, I can‘t wait for Easter!

Talking about Easter, Doncaster holds its very first

One Mile Bunny Run on Townfields on Easter

Saturday (3rd April). Organised by Austin Banks

Recruitment Agency, the run is in aid of

SAFE@LAST, a charity which gives help and

support to children who are at risk through

running away from home. Read more in this

month‘s issue and register online at

www.doncasterbunnyrun.co.uk don't forget your

bunny ears!

We also have some good advice from Green

Thumb on how to tackle the first cut of the year as

well as a notice from Doncaster Council who want

to give away Lap Tops—are you eligible or do you

know someone who is?

You may notice that the Arrow includes Blaxton

this month. Each quarter, the Arrow will now be

distributed to Blaxton as well as the usual area to

accommodate Blaxton Parish Councils Newsletter.

Last but by no means least—Mothers Day

falls on 14th March this year, so to all you

deserving Mum’s...

Happy Mothers Day

Hayfield Centre

Sports Plan moves

ahead

Peel Airports, Yorkshire Forward European

funding; Community Builders and Hill House

School are among the contributors to the project.

Said Caroline: ―I am very excited that the plans

are taking shape and funding is almost confirmed

for this exciting community sports facility with

managed workspaces.

―I am also very proud that the Government‘s

Community Builders programme is helping the

scheme. This important fund is dedicated to

helping grassroots community enterprises to

provide for a range of local needs, managed and

controlled by local people. This scheme absolutely

fits the bill.

―It was always part of the airport‘s plans that the

community would benefit from some sports

facilities; and these new plans will offer a range of

indoor and outdoor sports, and some offices

dedicated for small and start-up businesses. The

Hayfield Centre CIC Board is doing a great job. I

hope we will see building under way in the

summer.‖

Phoenix Folks & Blues Etcetera

concert, Friday 12th March at

7.45pm and will feature "Jack and Gill's

Daughter" an exiting acoustic duo with a

difference. "Best of intentions" will, as usual,

be warming up the audience with their unique mix

of whatever takes their fancy. Talking of taste, the

doors will open at 7pm for pre-show drinks and

chat.

Tickets, priced £6, are available now at

"Petology" (Two doors away from the theatre) or

call Barrie on 01302 770992 to reserve tickets.

Labour MP Caroline Flint has welcomed the

progress towards new sports facilities for Auckley,

following the latest funding received from the

Government‘s Community Builders Scheme.

Caroline was shown the latest plans for the

£2.5million community centre, sports and business

units by Amanda Richardson.

The Government‘s Community Builders fund has

approved £68,000 to complete all the preparations

and tender process.

―I am delighted that the architect can now fine tune

the plans for this great community facility and the

whole scheme can go to Doncaster Council for

planning approval,‖ said local resident Amanda

Richardson.

―The Hayfield Centre CIC Board has worked

tirelessly to get this project to final stage and I look

forward to consulting residents on the final look of

the scheme.‖

THE DAY THE WORLD’S

LARGEST AIRCRAFT CAME

TO DONCASTER

The world‘s largest operational aircraft,

ANTONOV AN225 MRYIA, flew into Doncaster

Sheffield Airport on 16th February on an

operational cargo mission.

Only one AN225 MRYIA (Dream) was ever built

by the company ANTONOV and this giant of the

skies, operated by specialist Antonov Airlines,

Ukraine, landed in Doncaster to collect a

generator which is urgently needed at a Power

Station in Lahore, Pakistan.

Paul Rodwell, Cargo Director from Peel Airports

Group said: ―The arrival of this magnificent aircraft

reflects growing confidence for Doncaster Sheffield

Airport as one of the UK‘s leading freighter

airports‖

―The AN225 is the largest cargo freighter in the

world and we are absolutely thrilled that it was

able to land here in Yorkshire, which is a first for

the region.‖

The AN225, which operates with a crew of 20 was

the only available large freighter with the payload

capacity to lift this size and weight of cargo in time

for an urgent deadline in Pakistan.

March Auckley WI Ladies, it was good

to see some new faces at our last meeting. We

hope that you will come and join us for the evening

of Thursday March 4th from 7.15-9.30pm at The

Parish Centre, Auckley to learn about the history

of a local area, Sandal Beat, as told by Ziggy Parrat-

Halbert. The competition will be a winter foliage

arrangement. Joan Woffinden

What A Start To 2010! Finningleys Tuesday Club started their 2010

programme with a bang. The afternoon was turned

over to eating and dancing and great fun was had by

all, we hope.

The group met up at noon to enjoy a light lunch of

leek and potato soup, made by Pam Robinson ably

assisted in the peeling onions department by her

husband Keith. This was followed by a selection of

sandwiches and tea.

At 1p.m. the afternoon really got into swing when

Claire and Colin Royle arrived to lead the dancing.

We enjoyed waltzes, quicksteps, square tangos, and

a barn dance before learning a new dance called the

friendship waltz which caused a great deal of

amusement to those attempting to learn it as well

as those watching.

The rule was, ―if you don't dance, you sing and

most folk were happy to have a go at both.

We concluded the afternoon with tea and biscuits

before wending our way home.

Our thanks go to all those people who put such

effort into preparing food, helping throughout and

then tidying up at the end of the afternoon.

Why don't you join us for our March

meeting. We meet again on Tuesday 30th of

March at 1.45p.m. in Finningley village hall

where we will discuss Remeniniscence Boxes

from The Doncaster Museum Services-----

Come along and see what memories they

provoke. We look forward to seeing you there.

It Makes Sense To Buy Locally

Grown Plants The key advantages of

buying locally grown plants: plants that will grow

better, fewer plant miles from the grower to your

garden and support for jobs in the UK horticulture

industry. When you combine all of that with great

prices and beautiful plants available at convenient

local sales you can see it makes sense.

The next sale in your area is Easter Saturday, 3

April 10am to 3pm at the Auckley Parish

Centre, Main St, Auckley. Refreshments in aid

of church funds.

At the recent B.A.T.D Scholarships held in

Newcastle, the Scott Stevenson School of Dancing

once again came away with prize winners.

Charlotte Stacey aged 17 was awarded runner up

in the senior Jazz/Modern Scholarship and Jenna

Calderbank aged 14 was chosen as best potential in

the Junior Ballet Scholarship. Accreditations were

also awarded to: Rebecca Haggart, Elizabeth Bailey,

Emma Shackleton & Robert Lodge.

Also I must mention the excellent Royal Academy

of Dancing Ballet results obtained in

December…..98% passing with Distinction.

Many congratulations to you all!

Q & A with

Send us your

questions

Your Questions Answered...

Q. How often do dogs and cats need de-fleaing and worming? Anna from Hatfield

A. Most cats and dogs will get fleas at some point. Fleas cannot live on humans but can cause distress to

your animal, as well as skin problems. I would advise treating monthly with a good flea preparation such as

Advantage. This involves using a pipette that is applied to the back of the neck.

Worming should be carried out every three months. Worms rarely cause visible illness but still pose a

health risk to more than just your dog as they could also harm your family, other

people and animals. Worming treatments come in various forms, the most popular

being tablets for dogs and spot-on pipettes for cats.

Q. My dog has one nail that grows and falls off every time. I wondered why this happens and what can be done to prevent it? Debbie from Hatfield.

A. Weak breaking nails can be caused by infections

in the nail beds, particularly fungal infections. Other

causes could be nutritional or if a nail is deformed in

some way causing it to be weak at the base. When a

nail breaks off it exposes the sensitive nail bed which

could get infected if left unprotected so I would advise that your dog is checked by a qualified

veterinary surgeon.

Your concerns are our priorities! Did you know that every community in Doncaster has a team dedicated to policing

your neighbourhood?

Safer Neighbourhood Teams (SNT) were introduced two years ago to provide a local policing service in the heart of communities. The teams were set up in partnership and

consist of police officers and council staff, who work with other agencies to focus on the needs of the local communities in Doncaster.

The SNT’s hold regular monthly community meetings and invite you, the community,

to have your say and express any concerns or issues you have in your neighbourhood.

At Cantley and Bessacarr‘s SNT community meeting, concerns were raised about vandals repeatedly

damaging gravestones at the Rose Hill cemetery in Cantley.

In a bid to stop these vandals, the SNT put on extra high-visibility patrols in the area. The people

responsible were thought to be young people who were walking through the cemetery on their way home

from school.

Officers carried out enquiries in local schools. They gathered evidence and made regular visits to the

cemetery.

Through the information collected by the SNT, two local boys were identified as being responsible. The

11 and 12-year-old were spoken to by officers and were given a warning for criminal damage. Since then

there have been no further incidents of criminal damage reported in the cemetery.

PC Jackie Cawley said: ―This issue was a priority for the SNT due to the frequency of the damage and the

impact of these crimes in the community. I am pleased that we were able to catch the vandals and

put a stop to this.‖

Free Laptop & Web Access -

Home Access PC/Internet

Grant

The government's made a grant of up to £528 available for low income families with children

living in England; it's targeted at those without access to the internet.

Depending on your need you can get up to £528 to spend on a computer (laptop, desktop,

netbook and one year‘s web access). Yet you cannot go anywhere, it's only retailers that

operate the scheme, though these include mainstream providers such as Comet, Phones4u

and Misco.

Who is eligible? You need children in years 3 to 9. This will

normally mean ages 7 to 14.

It‘s for families with lower incomes. There are a number of tests for this, generally speaking if

your child qualifies for free school meals or you receive income support, income-based JSA, child

tax credit plus an income lower than £16,040, it's worth checking out.

While the scheme is targeted at those who either don‘t have a computer or don‘t have web

access, there are only limited checks done on that, though it is important people don‘t abuse

the system. How many people can get it?

Spring is now upon us

and the grass is beginning

to grow more quickly. Here

Chris from GreenThumb offers some tips as we begin to think about that first cut of the year.

Have your mower serviced Now is an ideal time to get your mower serviced and ready for the task ahead. Most importantly, the blade must be sharp and adjusted correctly. In general a blade

should be changed or sharpened at least once per season. When cut with a sharp blade grass heals very quickly keeping it

healthy and maintaining its lush green colour. A blunt or wrongly adjusted blade will bruise the grass making it susceptible

to disease and will turn the tips brown leaving a discoloured lawn.

Some mowing tips

For the first cut raise the mower

blades to just ‗top‘ the grass. Cutting too low will stress the grass and set it back just when you want

to encourage it.

Try not to cut more than one third

of the total height of the grass plant in one go.

Never cut your lawn less than

25mm (1 inch). Cutting the lawn very short does not prevent grass from growing quickly and it can

encourage lawn diseases, moss and weed growth.

Always try to remove grass clippings

from the lawn – clippings encourage lawn thatch on which moss will thrive.

Well for many of us this was our very first white Christmas, and a really fantastic experience for so many

children, but a real pain to many of the older generation who found themselves confined to their homes.

But it has to be said that such conditions often bring out the best in human nature. Many older local

people have told me of the kindness of some of their younger neighbours who helped clear paths and

helped out with

their shopping

needs. Well done to

all those who put

themselves out for

others in our local

villages.

Many children took the

opportunity of enjoying

the snowy conditions

whilst their Schools were

closed down due to it. As

did Rachel Gane seen here

below in the Black Carr

Plantation at Branton.

Some time ago I asked our

readers if any one could

tell us what the pulley type

wheel presently hanging on

the ceiling of the

Restaurant in the Eagle and

Child in Auckley, had been

used for. Malcolm Kendal

who lived at the pub with

his family in the 1960s and

70s tells me that it was

found in the roof void in

1973, and along with it was some paperwork which clearly indicated that part of the pub was originally a

Bakery or Flour Mill, sadly this paperwork has gone missing. One can, I think, accept that it would not

have been an actual Mill since there were two local mills, one close by on the river Torne, and of course

the one that still stands at Branton. So it must have been the local Bakery.

I was recently looking through some old paperwork lent to me by Terry Cooke of Auckley and came

across the ‗Particulars, Plans and Conditions of Sale

of the Cantley, Auckley and Armthorpe Estates‘,

which has details of many local properties that were

up for auction at the Danum Hotel in Doncaster on

Tuesday the 11th of July in 1950. One item that

struck me as of interest was the Star Inn Farm, off

Whiphill Top Lane Branton, since part of that

property, a cottage is presently up for sale.

500 Bunnies to run

across Town Field for

Children’s Charity

on Easter Weekend

The event, dubbed ―Doncaster Bunny Run‖, will take place on Saturday 3 rd April at 10.00 am. Up to 500

participants, dressed as bunnies will complete a one mile race in support of South Yorkshire Children‘s

Charity, SAFE@LAST ([email protected]). The event is being organised by local recruitment agency,

Austin Banks.

SAFE@LAST works to help children and young people who are at risk through running away. It aims to

intervene to protect them from what they are potentially running towards and what they are running

away from. The service was set up in 1998 to support the 1 in 9 children in South Yorkshire that are

affected. Since 2005, the charity has worked with over 4000 young people and provides the only secure

refuge outside London for under 16 year olds.

The proceeds from the Bunny Run will be used to help SAFE@LAST launch its preventative education

program in Doncaster – a program which has already been successfully rolled out in Rotherham. A key

part of the education work is the promotion of the charity‘s 24 hour helpline number at local schools - a

confidential service which allows young

people to discuss their problems and where

appropriate access a trained project worker

to help them resolve their issue around

running away.

Event organiser, James Squires of Austin

Banks Ltd, states “Having seen SAFE@LAST in

action at the Lifewise Centre in Magna, I was

disappointed to learn that Doncaster schools

were not yet involved and decided to help

SAFE@LAST promote its services in the town.

The Bunny Run will be the first of two events this

year – a family, fun event with an Easter theme

where participants can enjoy a one mile fun run,

food, drink, entertainment and competitions. Our

aim is to attract 500 participants and for each of

them to raise a minimum of £10 in sponsorship.

As well as raising funds we hope to highlight the

benefits of the preventative education work to

the relevant authorities in Doncaster. Later in the

year, we are planning a white collar boxing event

where MDs of Doncaster companies will go head

to head in the ring”.

At the contest, ploughmen must plough 1/2 acre in

4 hours, the judges will look for straight, level

furrows with all the stubble buried to achieve a

clean level seedbed for the next crop and all the

trash buried and sealed firmly in to prevent the

carry over of weeds and diseases.

A well ploughed field needs less fertiliser, less

chemicals and uses less fuel to achieve a better

crop, than a poorly ploughed field.

The plough was

invented 4000 years

ago and has been

gradually improved

and ploughmen at

this event will

I know, I know, I keep going on about how much a simple white shirt forms a key part of your wardrobe, but this season it is going to be massive with every style imaginable available in the stores. So, if you haven’t already invested in

one, here are 10 ways to wear it:

Jeans, blazer and loafers (maybe add a little neck scarf).

Open down to the waist, with a camisole underneath and worn with jeans and ballet pumps. Roll up

the sleeves, add a statement cuff and some earrings and a nice tote bag.

Wear tucked in to a stone coloured pencil or straight skirt with a tan belt and some neutral

heeled pumps. Add a statement necklace and a big clutch for a lunch or dinner date.

Pop it under a tank top with boot cut trousers and add a narrow belt and a spotted scarf for

French chic.

Try it with a white vest underneath and some white drill trousers, add an animal print belt

and some wedges. Keep jewellery simple in one colour, silver or gold.

Wear a longer shirt open over your swimwear or fasten a couple of buttons and add a narrow gold

belt, just below the bustline. Wear with your straw hat and gold flatties for a ‗Riviera‘ look.

Wear some wide leg navy trousers and a striped cardigan for a nautical look. Or, add a striped vest

under the shirt, with a red belt.

Wearing a skirt or trousers, keep the top half

white – either the shirt on its own or worn with

the white top underneath and then pop on layers

of beads to add colour.

Simple but effective – understated black Capri

pants, black ballet pumps and your white shirt

tucked in with the collar slightly turned up. A

string of pearls or similar and a nice statement

bag.

Try wearing your shirt under your classic shift

dress for a fresh approach to business dressing.

This can be layered with a cardigan if it is cold,

or a long strand of beads to add some colour.

Don‘t forget, you can wear any style shirt in a

number of ways – it really is the most versatile of

garments. If it is really fitted it can almost be used as

a little jacket and if it is really loose then it can

almost be worn as a tunic top over leggings. Just

think outside the box a little and have fun wearing it!!

You know you want to.

Key Stage 2 enjoyed an afternoon in

the Wild West when Quantum Thea-

Countback Kid. The play had a mathe-

matical theme and the children had

fun joining in to help solve the clues to

find the missing bullion before the

baddies.

Sharing Assemblies

Year 3/4 held a very interesting as-

sembly where they shared all the work

they‟d been doing about World War 2. This topic formed the basis for learning across

the whole curriculum and the children shared some fantastic work including writing

about Ann Frank, 3D air raid shelters, gas masks and posters encouraging people to

grow their own food. After showing us some examples of food rations we could see why

grow your own was so popular! Year 2 also held their sharing assembly where they told

us all about toys from the past. The children showed some of the toys they‟d been

looking at and shared some wonderfully descriptive writing and art work about the toys.

Question Time in Year 6 (photograph below)

As part of their literacy work on arguments Year 6 held a Question Time style debate

on the issue of foxhunting. The panel was split into four children who supported the

legalisation of foxhunting and four who opposed it, with the „TV‟ presenters inviting

questions from the audience. The debate was filmed and all the children did really well,

especially those in the spotlight!

Fund raising for the Haiti Earthquake Appeal

Through the course of the school year we support

the work of many worthwhile charities. So far this

year we have raised money for Christian Aid

following our Harvest Festival, we collected for

Bluebell Wood Children‟s Hospice after our

Christmas Concerts and children enjoyed dressing up

for the day when we raised money for Children in

Need.

We wanted to play our small part in helping support

the victims of the Haiti earthquake disaster. Every

child who brought in a donation came into the school

hall to light their own small candle. We had a lovely display of candles for our morning assembly

when we thought about the suffering in Haiti, the courage of the medical teams and relief

agencies working in the country and the kindness of people across the world who have given their

help to the situation by making donations. We raised an amazing £597.06!! As I was helping

children light their candles many of the children told me that their donation was from their

pocket money or birthday money, so we are very proud to have such kind and thoughtful children

in our school.

Puppet making and drama day in Class 3

This half term Class 3 have been

learning about Ancient Greece. In

Literacy this has involved learning

about the features of a myth,

reading different myths and using

this as the starting point for the

children‟s own writing. Heracles,

the son of Zeus visited Class 3

(time travel is one of the amazing

features of Branton St Wilfrid‟s!)

to tell the story of his Ten Labours.

Class 3 then had a very busy day as

each child designed and created

their own puppet to help tell the

story. After rehearsing their

performance Class 3 shared the

puppet show of Heracles and his

Ten Labours with the children in the Infant classes. Our visitors commented on the enthusiasm

and interest of Class 3 during the day, so well done to everyone!

Class 2 find out more about the Great Fire of London

On Tuesday 26 January, Class 2 enjoyed a History Role Play Day focusing on The Great Fire of

London. Sir William Petty arrived from the past and vividly shared with the children the story of

how the fire spread and the destruction it caused. He worked with the children all day to help

Page 43: Mar 10, Issue 54, The Branton & Auckley Arrow

them understand aspects of The Great Fire, and used practical role play activities including

making human bucket chains to put out the fire, and acting out scenes to show how the fire spread

so quickly. The children also began to use the key factual information, and tried to plan designs

for the re-building of London.

Cross Country Competition

Children from Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 attended the Pyramid Cross Country Running Competition at the

end of January. We competed against Auckley, Hayfield Lane and Finningley schools and were

kindly hosted by The Hayfield School. We had a super turn out of 37 children. It was a very

chilly late afternoon (perhaps making us run

that bit faster!).

We had some personal triumphs and an

overall placing in the steam event of joint

2nd with Auckley. Well done to all the

competitors from all the schools. Thanks to

families and friends for supporting this

event.

School Council Visit to the Mansion House

The School Council visited the Mansion

House in Doncaster to find out about the

history of the building and what it is used

for today.

First we went into the Council Chamber where we elected a mayor, deputy mayor and chief

executive - (Owen, Eleanor and Brooklyn). The rest of the Council had to sit in the member‟s

seats and ask them questions, using the microphone system. They soon had to “think on their

feet” as they were asked questions such as “Should we have homework in school?”

Next we visited the salon where we looked at portraits of the royal family and the last mayor to

live in the Mansion House. After that we entered the ballroom and discovered how ladies wearing

crinoline dresses had an entire settee to themselves during balls and how they were entertained

with chamber music. We then went onto the landing to look at the beautiful Peace window and to

find out more about the history of our town, including the famous locomotives which were built

here.

Finally it was time to visit the old

kitchen, where refreshments were

served. We were each given a

pencil, postcard and badge as

souvenirs of our visit.

We learned lots of interesting facts

about the Mansion House and how

our council meetings in Doncaster

are organised.

Best Wishes

Doncaster Advanced Motorists Surviving Automatic Number Plate Recognition

(ANPR) - a guide for law-abiding drivers.

Dear Readers, Police using Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) systems may pull over drivers who consider

themselves law-abiding citizens alongside hardcore criminal drivers.

Number-plates obscured by dirt or with incorrect letter and number spacing, that can‘t be read by ANPR

camera, may be flagged up as suspect registrations and police sent in pursuit. Number-plates that have

been stolen or cloned by criminals and used to evade prosecution for speeding, illegal parking, insurance

and other offences may also land the registered car owners in trouble. And then there may be

inaccuracies and delays in the data used to identify rogue cars. For their part, drivers need to appreciate

that the need to keep their number-plates street legal has never been so great, and that failure to do so is

more likely to bring prosecution for a Construction and Use offence.

"Whereas, in the past, police officers may have unofficially turned a blind eye to number-plates covered in

mud or customised registrations unless they needed to stop a car, ANPR may mean that the days of the

fancy or dirty plate are numbered.

"ANPR helps police to catch illegal vehicles and

drivers together at the roadside, whereas clamping

and removing rogue cars, although taking them out

of circulation, rarely catches up with offenders who

simply buy another cheap vehicle. However, there

will be other drivers, whose number-plates are

obscured or cloned, who may be caught in the net."

From the point of view of police and other

enforcement agencies, that any inaccuracies in data

records held by the Driver and Vehicle Licensing

Agency (DVLA) and any time lag in recording

changes in motorist‘s circumstances may end up with

drivers being caught by ANPR.

"Sometimes, wrong information is fed on to the

DVLA database by car owners, who may make

mistakes or by criminals who try to create a false

record. With so many sources of data, such as from

post offices, MoT test centres, insurance companies

and people who have sold cars privately, it is critical

that it is all timely and accurate now that

enforcement increasingly hinges on these records.

Revd, Neil Redeyoff with his family

I scratched a Car!!!

No, not me! But as we‘re in Lent, that time of

reflection before Easter, I thought I‘d share a

story that I came across that involves a

scratched car. It perhaps offers us a new

perspective.

I was about 17 at the time. I finally was able to

drive a car. I took my mum to work in a car

that a friend had lent her for the day. It was a

manual gear change. After dropping off my

mum my small cousin jumps to the front seat

while eating crisps.

The driveway to the house we lived in was a

slope so I decide to hit the accelerator and try

to make it up in 3rd gear, Big mistake. The car

stalls on us and thanks to gravity, we start

going down the slope backwards! My lack of

experience was evident as I didn‘t think to yank on the hand break as the main breaks stopped working

when the engine died.

With a main road on my left and two connecting roads right behind me everything turned to slow motion.

My cousin was still eating his crisps, I was pale as snow and in my head a million and one things crossed my

mind. Thankfully a wall managed to step in. It scratched the right side of the car but brought us to a

complete stop. Frightened and thankful that no car had showed up to do the job, I turned to check on my

cousin, and with his eyes nearly popping out of their

sockets, he was still eating crisps, at a much more

rapid pace of course, he was ok.

I turned on the car, drove up the slope, parked the

car and left for work frightened and worried like

never before. I spent the whole day scared, worried,

thinking constantly of the mess I had made. Finally,

the time came to face my fear, telling my mother.

As I walked up that slope once again I was able to

see the car and the scratch. At the same time my

mother comes out of the house. She looks at me,

not with anger, but with compassion.

Having lived longer she wisely said these words: "It‘s

ok son, that‘s what money is for. We‘ll get it fixed!"

That‘s it!

I believe God has a better perspective as well. Our

worst struggles are, in his view, nothing worse than,

a reparable scratch on a car. Why not speak to Him

today?
