Dionysus, the son of the cloud-gatherer Zeus

and the mortal Semele and the Greek god of

grape harvest, winemaking and wine. He is

also known as Bacchus, the name adopted by

the Romans, because he induces bakkheia—a

frenzy one experiences when freed from one’s

normal self through madness, ecstasy, or wine.

Wine bin

As a member of The Country Club of

Louisiana, you have the option to rent

wine bins for a low annual fee. This rental

enables Members to purchase in-house

wine at cost plus 20% for their wine bins;

Purchasing wine in the dining room is

also cost plus 20%. If you choose to bring

your own bottle, there is a $5 corkage fee

(normally $15). Only a limited amount of

wine bins are available for rent.

Club of Louisiana’s Wine Society.

Membership costs $480* a year per

couple which includes four of the

seven annual tastings and two of the

four annual dinners. Wine Society

members can purchase wine at

cost plus 20% at the wine tastings

and dinners but are not allowed to

purchase in-house wine at cost plus

20%.

*If a member and his/her spouse joins later than January 2011, the membership fee is pro-rated.

DINING

loBster tAles

This dining event gives Members an excuse to

share tall tales with friends and family over a three-

course lobster dinner for $27.99++ per person. The

first course consists of Clam Chowder; the second

course has Lobster Tail with new potatoes and

asparagus with clarified butter. To finish off the

night, Members will have Lemon Almond Torte for

dessert.

Kids’ movie night

Every Tuesday night, one child eats free from the

kids’ menu for every adult entrée ordered (dine-in

only). Kids receive a free cookie and can choose

one toy from The Country Club of Louisiana’s

Treasure Chest; coloring sheets, toys, and puzzles

are available for children of all ages! A kids’ movie,

such as Meet the Robinsons or Ice Age, will begin

at 6:00 p.m. on the big screen projector.

At the Clubhouse, our dining functions will satisfy your cravings. With

events for your family, friends, and business associates, you can’t go

wrong when dining in one of our many venues.

chAmpAgne Brunch

Champagne Brunch is held every Sunday morning from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00

p.m. We offer stations for meat carving, omelettes, and waffles. Everything

else is served buffet style in grand portions (including boiled shrimp)! The

cost is $22.95++ per adult and $7.95++ per child.

chicKen fried steAK night

Chef’s deliciously famous Chicken Fried Steak is served every first

Wednesday of the month. Have a taste of southern cuisine with sides that

include garlic mashed potatoes and green beans for only $12++ per person!

homestyle night

Feel at home every other Wednesday with Homestyle Night. In addition

to the dinner menu, Chef will prepare a delectable dish that you and your

family will fall in love with! Some entrées include Meatloaf, Catfish

Atchafalaya, and Seafood Lasagna for only $12++ per person.

fArm fresh mArKet

Your three-course dinner for $21.99++ per person that Chef and his staff

prepares every other Wednesday is made with fresh ingredients ordered from

local farmers. For example, the first course is Tropical Cocktail, which is

boiled shrimp tossed with diced mango and roasted chilies, garnished with

red romaine and shredded Daikon radish. Second is Creole Caprese made

with fresh mozzarella, sliced heirloom tomato, organic basil, fried okra,

and pecan remoulade. Finally, the Double Chop Pork Loin stuffed with bleu

cheese and crushed walnuts is topped with caramelized apple chutney, served

with white asparagus and sweet potato hash.

steAKhouse night*Do away with hunger by putting a steak in it every other Thursday! For

$19.95++ per person, the night begins with your choice of soup du jour or

house salad and ends with a 6 oz. filet mignon served with a twice baked

potato. Add broccoli, green beans, or bread pudding for $2.50, and our

house wine is only $5 per glass!

Our Jack Nicklaus Signature Course is an oasis of tranquility

carved in Louisiana’s bayou country and composed of undulating

terrain meandering through pockets of live oak and crape myrtle trees.

This challenging 18-hole, par 72 course is over 7,100 yards long—with

20 green side bunkers completed in 2007 (state-of-the-art in drainage

and sand)—will provide even the biggest golf enthusiast the challenge

they are looking for. If you need guidance, we have over 35 years of

combined teaching experience between our four golf professionals and

other benefits listed on the left under “Lagniappe.”

Should you require a little more practice before hitting the course,

extensive practice facilities are at your disposal, including: a 7,000

square foot putting green, practice green for chipping and sand trap

practice, practice bunker, and a 300-yard driving range with 80,000

square feet of tee surface.

As expected from The Country Club of Louisiana, its Golf Pro Shop offers a complete line of equipment, accessories, and attire that can be ordered or purchased at the discounted members’ price of cost plus 20% for hard goods and cost plus 40% for soft goods.

Opened in December 2009, the 1,200 square foot

Swing Center is a state of the art golf learning facility

equipped with the latest in golf learning technology,

such as: Digital V1 Coaching System, Zelocity

Launch monitor, TPI 3-D K-Vest, The Tomi putting

system, and several Mitchell golf custom fitting

equipment. On top of golf technology, we also supply

our members with the following:

• PGA instruction

• Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) certified

golf fitness instructors

• Private lessons

• Junior camps

• Group clinics

Transform back to civilian from golfer when you

visit our locker rooms. Everything is meticulously

monitored and scrupulously maintained with your

comfort in mind. Both men’s and women’s locker

rooms are available with steam room, sauna, and

shower facilities. The handsomely appointed Men’s

Locker Room is also equipped with a hot tub.

BAr And lounge*Celebrate a good score or forget about a bad one over

a round of post-play cocktails in the 19th Hole for men

or Ladies’ Grille (weekdays), which transforms into a

Couple’s Lounge on weeknights and weekends. Watch

sports or news on one of our many flatscreen televisions,

and savor those taste buds when you order from our grill

or dinner menus, which includes fine dining options as

well as more modest fare. *Must be 21 to enter.

in the area. We offer 10 well-

groomed, green clay courts

for the discerning players

who prefer sliding and gliding

along a soft surface and 2

convenient indoor courts

for the varsity scholastic and

intercollegiate players who

prefer to pound away on

hard courts. In addition, the

hard courts are available for

year-round play for those

who want to hit balls on mild

days in the off-season.

The continuous, year-round Junior

Tennis Program is designed to develop

young tennis players physically, mentally,

and socially. A variety of programs for

all ages and all levels are offered. Our

primary goal is for the young players

to have fun playing tennis. Programs

include Quick Start and Pee Wee for

the 5- to 10-year-olds beginner players

and the Junior Program for beginner to

advanced players.

Experience

Coach Di has been a developmental

swim instructor for children and

adults for 35 years. She was involved

with Age Group Coaching for USS

teams from 1987-2007. Coach Di

is the current coach for Episcopal

Middle School since 2009 and has

been The Country Club of Louisiana’s

Head Coach since summer 2009.

Children and grandchildren of club members

between the ages of 5 and 16 are invited

to be a part of the Dolphin Swim Team. Our goal

is to provide each swimmer with proper stroke

and skill instruction, the chance to actively

participate on a solid competitive swim team,

and incorporate family fun activities while under

the direction of the mission of this team. The

Dolphins’ mission is to assist each team member

with developing self-confidence, a sense of

achievement, and a love for the swimming

sport while learning lifetime swimming skills in

a safe, fun-loving environment. Coaches will

track individual event times and record CCLA

team records to motivate goal setting and instill

a sense of accomplishment. A Family Fun Day

combined with an intersquad meet will kick

HOT SUN, COOL WATER

The Club’s aquatic facility offers several

different pools that are open six days a

week from late May through Labor Day to

accommodate many swimming activities.

Our Olympic-size swimming pool is fully

equipped with diving boards. We also

have a dedicated lap pool for exercise

swimming, and a wading pool is

available for our younger

guests.

No matter the occasion, our swimming pools

give you reasons to spend the hot summer

season swimming or relaxing by the poolside.

You can even order lunch, dinner, snacks,

or cool refreshments by the pool at the

Cabana Bar & Grill. Members are welcome

to hold private pool parties for birthdays,

graduations or any special events.

Many Club parties and social

events are also celebrated

by the poolside.

encouraged to participate. The 2011 swimming

practices will run from Tuesday, May 10th to

Friday, June 24th. The season will end with an

awards banquet on Sunday, June 26th.

STROKE SCHOOLOptional pre-season stroke clinics and lessons

are available for swimmers in a small group

setting to master skills and techniques required

for competition. Pre-season stroke instruction

is offered to our 2011 swim team members

who are 7 to 16 years old beginning April

25th. Additionally, 5 and 6-year-old swim team

members may also schedule pre-season private

or small group lessons.

PRIVATE SWIM LESSONSThe Country Club of Louisiana offers private

swimming lessons for Members before or

during regular pool hours, but not after. Lessons

are for new and more experienced swimmers

who need stroke/technique instruction. Children

ages three and over are eligible for lessons.

Swimmers six and under typically schedule for

30 minutes or opt for private swimming lessons

(available starting April 25th). Instructions for

children with special needs is also available.

Since last year ’s summer camp was such a hit, we are offering it again! Campers ages 4 – 10 receive an array of exciting activities that include: Tennis, Golf, “The Arts”, Kids’ Fitness, Martial Arts, Yoga, Team Building, Weekly Special Events, Themed Wacky Wednesdays, and much more!

Camp CCLA 2011 runs Monday through Friday, June 6 until August 5 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The cost is $169 per child per week, and complimentary before and aftercare is available! Please visit www.kecamps.com to register, pay online, or for more information.

Junior Golf Camp

The Junior Golf Athletic Program incorporates the latest techniques and methods used by elite athletic academies around the world. Our program is designed to help juniors improve their long-term athletic development while improving their golf game at the same time.

The cost is $175 for the first child, $150 for the second child, and $125 for the third. This camp is only offered to children and grandchildren of members during the month of July, and space is limited. Please contact The Swing Center at (225) 389-6030 for more information.

Junior Tennis Camp

The Junior Tennis Camp drills the kids to bring them up to speed with the modern game. The kids will work on technique and fundamentals, and there will be match play work on singles and doubles.

This camp will be only be offered to children or grandchildren of members beginning at age 5 during the summer months. Space is limited. Please contact the Tennis Pro Shop at (225) 755-4660 for more information.
