Neti Pots for Treating Nasal Congestion
During the high allergy season of late summer and early fall, people who suffer from seasonal allergies often turn to antihistamines and decongestants to treat their symptoms. Clogged nasal passages are very uncomfortable, and it can be hard to get complete relief from over the counter medications. A natural remedy called the neti pot works particularly well for short-term relief.

Neti pots are small ceramic or plastic pots with spouts through which a salt water solution can be poured directly into a nostril to flush the nasal passages. The treatment thins nasal mucus to better flush it out of the passages and clears away crusting in the nasal passages. Some people find relief from nasal congestion without medication using this method. Neti pots can be found without a prescription at drug stores.
