Think about your sins since your last Mass and ask for the grace to be sorry. Pray:

I confess to almighty Godand to you, my brothers and sisters,

that I have greatly sinned,in my thoughts and in my words,in what I have done and in what I

have failed to do,through my fault, through my fault,

through my most grevious fault;therefore I ask blessed Mary ever Virgin,

all the Angels and Saints, and you, my brothers and sisters,

to pray for me to the Lord our God.

There is no “Gloria,” because we are walking the road of the Cross with Jesus before Easter.

Pray:By your help, we beseech you,

Lord our God, may we walk eagerly

in that same charity with which, out of love for the world,

your Son handed himself over to death. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,

who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,

one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

First Reading | Ezekiel 37:12-14Listen for the dramatic promise of God from many centuries before Jesus. He promised to save us from death!

Responsorial Psalm | Psalms 130:1-2, 3-4, 5-6, 7-8With the Lord there is mercy and fullness of redemption.Think of the serious things you have been praying for lately. Do you pray differently when you are worried or upset? Imagine yourself praying the words you hear in the Psalm. We should pray with complete confidence in God and with all our hearts.

Second Reading | Romans 8:8-11Remember that we, as human beings, are made up of a body and a soul. Saint Paul talks in this reading about the flesh and the spirit. Think about our body and our soul. He is teaching us that we should do what is good for our souls. Instead of always striving for what we like in this world, we learn to seek what will stay with us after we leave this world.

Gospel | John 11:1-45At this time of year, we hear long and well-known true stories from the life of Jesus. Today it is a story about a good friend of Jesus, his friend Lazarus. When Lazarus is sick his sisters, Mary and Martha, call for Jesus to come to heal him. Jesus doesn’t come and Lazarus dies. Listen for what Jesus says about His delay in going to them. Also, keep these questions in mind: Do Jesus’ disciples want Him to visit Lazarus? Why or why not? Is Jesus afraid of His own enemies? Do Mary and Martha believe in Jesus? Do they know He is the Savior? Why does Jesus cry? What do we learn from the miracle Jesus performs for his dead friend, Lazarus?

Pray the Creed:I believe in one God,the Father almighty,

maker of heaven and earth,of all things visible and invisible.I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ,

the Only Begotten Son of God,born of the Father before all ages.God from God, Light from Light,

true God from true God,begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father;

through him all things were made. For us men and for our salvation

he came down from heaven, and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary,

and became man.For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate,

he suffered death and was buried, and rose again on the third day

in accordance with the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven

and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory

to judge the living and the deadand his kingdom will have no end.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son,

who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets.

I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church.I confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of sinsand I look forward to the resurrection of the dead

and the life of the world to come. Amen.

all the Angels and Saints, and you, my brothers and sisters,

to pray for me to the Lord our God.

Pray the Creed:I believe in one God,the Father almighty,

maker of heaven and earth,of all things visible and invisible.I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ,

the Only Begotten Son of God,born of the Father before all ages.God from God, Light from Light,

true God from true God,begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father;

through him all things were made.

Amen.
