THE Y. SO MUCH MORE At the Y we are more than a gym. We are a cause dedicated to building strong children, families and communitiesinside and out. This includes making our programs available to all regardless of needbecause at the Y, everyone belongs. You can help us in the cause. Change a life by making a gift to the YMCA. Because membership dues and program fees support our daily operations, your gift will go directly to serving children and families in need. The impact of your gift will be felt when:

A kindergartener starts school ready to learn because he attended the Ys early learning center.

Kids have a safe, nurturing environment to go to after school and in the summer.

A dad spends time with his child while coaching basketball.

A child loses weightand enjoys itbecause at the Y, exercise is play.

Our Goal: Our swim team offers developmental instruction, age-group training, advanced conditioning, and in-depth technique and skill analysis. The YMCA participates in the Chicago District Swim Conference, which includes YMCA teams and USA teams in the Chicagoland area.

With YMCA Swimming and USA-certified coaches always on the pool deck, swimmers will receive the best and most innovative methods of instruction and training during their season. Each coach is specialized in the age group and is educated and trained to handle each group for maximum effectiveness.

The team is an opportunity to provide a solid foundation in competitive swimming by creating a challenging atmosphere for children to develop into student athletes. By accepting the physical and mental challenges of swimming every day, children learn how to set goals and work to achieve them both in and out of the pool.

Team Dynamic: Swimmers must have passed the equivalent of Guppy swim level. The swim team is broken down into 7 color groups based on skill and technique. The Head Coach will determine the appropriate color group for the swimmer. If you are new member on the swim team you should attend one of the swimmer placement dates.
