Acoustic», was chosen as an ongoing symbolic

representation of this vision.

Alongside our well recognised “Traditional “ Speaker

Line, Totem translates the same philosophy to today’s

extremely important Integrated systems technology.

Architecturally friendly, yet providing the highest

calibre ambient solutions, these beautiful integrated

loudspeakers will likewise bring the listener to a higher

musical awareness. They provide easily incorporated

sustenance for all the Senses.

In wall integration was an easy task for Totemafter launching its successful on-wall series. TheTribe In-Wall uses two 4.5" polypropylene wooferswith an extreme large voice coil, and a soft dometweeter tuned for low resonant f requency.Although this design is very slim, it produces anamazing - never expected - deep bass. Twopassive radiators allow this all-enclosed box tobe build inside walls. As with other Totem models,the In-Wall small lateral dimensions are a virtue,not a compromise. Its very smallness allows it toproject a completely believable stereo image mostlarge speakers are unable to replicate. It alsohas a hard-wired crossover network with bypassedcapacitors, and it can be bi-wired. Tribe In-Wallspeakers unfold Totem’s legendary imaging, off-axis performance and full-range musicality withmajestic and awe-inspiring sound. Listen andbelieve.

Totem’s approach to the realisation of original in-wall/ceiling transducers varies from the industrynorm. First and foremost, ALL currently available,easily installed standard format in-walls are mass-produced to generalised engineering standards.Higher echelon, non-standard cumbersome in-walls utilise fabrication techniques, which try to

overcome the deficiencies that most in-walls have.However at TOTEM we believe and know thatthe true success in producing an outstandingsounding, involving in-wall/ceiling speaker lies,not in structural modifications, but the specialiseddriver matching, sourcing and original crossoverwork.

Torrent TechnologyOne of our prime objectives was to produce an ultra-compact driver and assemblies that canoperate with huge dynamics and precision in a very restricted cabinet volume. Acomplementary objective of our project was to build an incredibly strong magnet that radiatesprecisely in disciplined directions and over long frontal distances. For this we needed toreinvent the magnetic foundation of speaker making. The drivers had to be powerful yetcompact, strong yet hyperacute. In most standard drivers, the voice coil moves up and downand is mechanically controlled by the suspension and adjacent parts, creating displacementand inherent physical limits and is, in fact, only fractionally controlled by the magneticstructure. At TOTEM, we wanted to go beyond these established limited notions.The TORRENT’s main innovation framework allowed the inner voice coil to “perfectly” oscillatevertically in a positive versus negative environment while interacting as part of the magneticstructure. The result was an extended voice coil throw immersed in a powerful controlledmagnetic field that generates pure linearity.
