Senior executives have commitments across geographies and rarely stay in the same city for long, making it almost impossible to commit to an MBA program that requires an anchor to be cast in any particular city.

Our concentrated class schedule minimizes travel and disruption, allows participants to maintain corporate responsibilities, and accommodates demanding travel schedules, job relocations and position transfers.

The convenient block format allows dedicated focus on both academic work and peer-to-peer learning. Participants can fly in for the segments

from anywhere in the world, commit full-time for two weeks and return to their work full-time before the next segment with richer perspectives and immediately apply what they have learned.

Classes are conducted in residence at NUS in Singapore and UCLA in Los Angeles, and in Shanghai, China and Bangalore, India.

Each segment consists of three course modules, in a small class size that facilitates interaction and peer-to-peer learning.

Get started. Don’t let the present impinge your future!

Each team works on a specific problem or topic that is related to the strategic direction of the organization and is cross-functional in nature, in that it requires each team to research and analyze issues from the perspective of more than one business function. Students work to define and solve strategic problems, explore business opportunities, enhance organizational competitiveness, and improve organizational and managerial effectiveness. The Management Practicum also focuses on strategic issues that are international or multinational in scope bridging key Pacific Rim countries.

UCLA – NUS EMBA participants and client organization representatives agree jointly on a scope of work that will result in a complete, in-depth, strategic business plan at the behest of an organization’s management.

The plans can include an analysis of the organization’s value proposition in relation to the competitive environment and generally incorporate financial, marketing, operational and strategic recommendations based on extensive primary and secondary research that the teams conduct.

Applied leArning - MAnAgeMent prActicuMThe Management Practicum, a double-credit course spanning two quarters, is an extensive and integrated consulting project designed to allow participants an opportunity to “test-drive” their management and leadership skills, and apply the analytical tools and frameworks acquired in the program to real-life business and organizational dilemmas across a broad range of organizations.
